My doctorate is in saxophone and I have several years experience teaching and performing saxophone as a university lecturer, band director, and private lesson instructor. Saxophone is my primary instrument. I've taught it at the university level, as well as beginners. I'm proficient in classical and jazz styles. For beginners, I recommend Essential Elements for Band, Book 1 for Saxophone. For others, I may recommend the David Hite Foundation Studies and Melodious & Progressive Studies. For all, I teach practice techniques for good fundamentals. For booking, please sign up with TakeLessons today, and then we'll arrange a mutually agreeable meeting time. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have 35 years of experience playing the saxophone. In high school I made the all-state jazz band. Since then, I have performed at a variety of venues and have worked in many studios.
As a beginner, you will learn the foundations of the saxophone which are vital to a good tone and control of the instrument. Intermediate and advanced students will continue to work on basics but will also focus on transcription, evenness through the registers, chord movements and substitutions, business matters, and more.

What kind of music do you like? Have you tried learning music from a method book and just didn't have fun? Over the past 5 years of teaching several instruments I have developed a system of learning songs that YOU love and learn what music is about. With the songs you want to learn, we talk about articulation, intonation, and many exercises to help you become better. We can talk about reed care, instrument care as well!
About Brandon
My Saxophone students can expect some of the fun and some of the practical. We will be working on articulation, tone production, intonation, breathing, different forms of vibrato and many other aspects of control over the saxophone while learning songs that you as the student want to learn.
I have been taking piano lessons for 15 years, and turning around and teaching the techniques and abilities to my students have been really fun! We work on the fundamentals, but we
I have a lot of fun with music theory. I try to be practical in what students need to know, but can teach much more. I have a jazz background and can teach jazz theory, including comping and improvisation.
