"Great teacher. Teaching in steps and then adding more to it and repeating is the best way to go and Rufus is doing just that with me. All ready in 3rd les

"Cory is an excellent teacher. His lessons are a blast. He's done a great job of assessing my existing musical knowledge and goals for learning the harmo
nica, and customizing the lessons to allow me to learn quickly (as well as improve my grasp of theory in a fun and practical way).
I'd highly recommend him for anyone considering harmonica lessons (or lessons with one of the many other instruments he teaches)."

Melissa has been singing all of her life. She began her vocal training at a very cute age, learning every song she heard, and passionately performing them for friends and family. She later went on to pursue a formal education in Classical Vocal Performance and Jazz technique from California State University, Los Angeles. While completing her Bachelors degree, Melissa was fortunate to have worked with many established artists, bands and producers of various styles, including jazz, blues, rock, pop, soul and funk. These collaborations have allowed her to hone her own voice and successfully pu
rsue professional work.
Melissa has enjoyed the opportunity of lead local elementary school music programs, and has most recently expanded her private vocal studio Sing Your BEST Self to include skills training in piano, music theory and ear training.
Melissa specializes in LIVE improvisational performance, and can be seen performing under a stage name around the Ventura County and Los Angeles areas. Additionally, She is an accomplished songwriter, and has lent her voice to many recording projects, art collaborations, as well as, T.V. and Film.
*** Lesson Details *** I thoroughly enjoy sharing what I've learned about music. In my voice studio, students will master the fundamentals of the voice to ensure natural, healthy singing. In my teaching approach, I seek to provide a complete experience, in which, standard vocal technique is taught with the whole singer in mind, with specific attention to the individual students needs and goals.
Singing should be enjoyable for the singer as well as the listener. Helping students to experience that joy is my intention. Music lessons are fun, energetic, and productive. You will become an empowered musician and learn to Sing Your BEST Self!
*** Studio Equipment *** recording studio/performance space: students of all ages, keyboard, mirror, stools, dry erase board
*** Travel Equipment *** Onsight lessons are at teacher's discretion and are reserved for advanced students, and pre-arranged coaching sessions related to student learning goals.
*** Specialties *** I am classically trained singer and teach from that method. I perform Jazz/ blues, soul/ funk and can teach these styles with applied pedagogy. I perform often and would also enjoy coaching in more modern styles of music that require microphone and stage technique. Additionally, hands on vocal recording technique would be of interest to me.

Melissa J is patient, warm, and intelligent
I can easily recommend Melissa J. She is bright, warm, patient and enthusiastic about teaching music. Our son instantly connected with her, and he has remembered every single thing she has taught him. If he had his way, he would take a lesson with her everyday! Big thanks !

I have enjoyed our sessions temendously and have gained a new found sense of confidence. Thank you!
Hi! My name is Christopher, or Chris for short. I am a composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist, and private tutor. I have taught private lessons in classical and contemporary piano performance, vocal performance, guitar performance, music theory, and musicianship to local students for the past 5 years. I currently attend CSUN's school of music where I am a year away from obtaining my Bachelor's of Music in Composition. My other experience includes teaching Confirmation classes to teenagers at St. Jude's church for 2 years, and teaching English to Japanese high school students through the R
otary Youth Exchange Program.
*** Lesson Details *** My philosophy when it comes to doing anything with music is that it should be fun! Whether you're practicing a piece, playing with a band, writing something new, or even learning music theory, music is primarily about enjoying yourself and the others around you. The same is true of my lessons!
The best way to ensure that you enjoy yourself is to learn what you want to learn and play what you want to play. In addition to a standard curriculum, I want you to tell me what kind of music you're interested in and what kind of pieces you want to play! Do you love classic rock? Do you love pop? Blues? Jazz? Folk tunes? Opera? Or maybe you're a lover of the classical masters? Whatever the case may be, my number one goal is to make sure you're having fun while you develop your new talents.
I'm comfortable teaching students as young as 7 years of age, although I can teach even younger if they are especially well-behaved.
*** Specialties *** Classical, Blues, Jazz, Improv, Original composition

My Favorite Piano Teacher!
Chris is an unbelievable piano teacher! He always makes sure we are working on something that I enjoy which keeps me motivated. He is very patient (which is great since I'm kind of a slow learner!) and is always willing to go over things as many times as I need.
Chris also has such a great passion for his music so a lot of the times my absolute favorite part of our lesson is when we are finished and I ask him to play me some of his own newly composed songs!
Steven graduated with his bachelor of music degree from California State University, Northridge. While at C.S.U.N., Steven was the winner of the Andres Segovia memorial scholarship and the Randy Rhoads memorial scholarship. Also, Steven has studied with many guitar greats such as Christopher Parkening and Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne). Currently, Steven is recording and performing with the virtuoso violinist Hekar Rivera and is the guitarist in a super cool instrumental Rock/Jazz/R&B fusion quartet. In addition to performing, Steven teaches guitar at his studio in Ventura. Also, Steven is the
head of the music department at North Hills Preparatory School and teaches guitar workshops at the Ventura College Institute.
*** Lesson Details *** Lessons are available for all ages, styles and skill levels. Beginners are encouraged to apply. Students will have fun while reaching their musical goals. Students are taught to be musicians and artists through the study of the guitar. Students will learn cool songs, improvisation and music theory. I really love teaching music because I think music make the world a better place!

Hello. I love to teach and I have devoted my life to obtaining the highest music education possible. Learning to play an instrument is fun but it is also challenging. My lessons consist of technique and general music training that include aural skills and music theory. My lessons are a lot of fun because I have high standards, but also maintain a light hearted atmosphere. I teach viola up until the masters level and violin to an intermediate level. My students have ranged in age from 4 to 35 years old and I feel that I can teach students at any age.
Currently I am the Lead String Teac
hing Artist for the Harmony Project Ventura and you will find other credentials below.
If you want to include learning to play the violin or viola in your life then I would be a great choice for a teacher. Thank you. Elisa

My daughter started taking violin lessons with Elisa in January of 2014. She is by far the best music teacher that we've had! Elisa is very challenging but makes learning and playing fun. My 8 year old daughter has made leaps and bounds in music and can now read music after only a short 8 months of playing. My daughters bow hold and tone quality are absolutely excellent and it's because of Elisa! I would definitely recommend her as a teacher. You will not be disappointed.

Elisa is a very responsible, skillful, and sweet teacher
Before Elisa moved to Ventura, CA, she was a master student and taught in IP piano school and Kwong Kow Chinese School in Boston, MA. My daughter, Sarina, was one of her students. My daughter loves her so much and made good progress when Elisa was teaching her. Elisa made Sarina relax and comfortable so that she was enjoying the learning process; she emphasized on skill and poses, she tried hard to help the students to get to the best they could. She is reliable as you can talk with her about the timing change and make up lessions. She came to our house to say goodbye and hug Sarina before she left. She is a great teacher that you can count on and you will enjoy her teaching.

Elisa is a great teacher
Elisa taught my daughter viola for almost two years before she moved West. My daughter start viola when she was six. Elisa was very good with a young novice player - She explained musical concepts at an age appropriate level (but never dumbed things down). We were also pleased that she had high standards in her weekly expectations but always kept things fun and loose so as not to cause stress. Had she not moved we would still be employing her. Elisa is a great teacher.
