I teach beginner clarinets lessons. An example would be a student in 4th or 5th grade just starting band, I can start with them and stay with them until they go to college. Adult students starting out can last many years with me as their teacher before moving onto the next 'intermediate' level.
Hello, thank you for visiting my site! I am currently a music teacher for Kindergarten-8th grade, teaching general music, concert band and choir, with the occasional school performance of a musical thrown in the mix. My education in music really took off when I attended a Performing Arts High School where I focused mainly on the clarinet, piano and bassoon. During this time I was very active in the High School solo competition scene and took away many state titles in music theory, clarinet and piano. After graduating I received my BFA in Piano Performance from the University of MN-Duluth. While I was studying I was fortunate to have an inspirational conductor who handed instruments of all kinds out to me. This really held my love and appreciation for music and I learned a lot
I played in school bands and picked up more theory in college.

I balance traditional methods with light-hearted pieces to help my students continue to grow as a musician. My students rate high in school competitions and are encouraged to perform whenever possible.
My curriculum includes standard scales, method books and solos as well as pieces of the students' own choosing. I have over 30 years' experience in musical education and performance and continue to maintain my status as a performing artist.
Fran has been playing clarinet since junior high band. After studying at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI, she has been teaching privately and performing in church, community and professional organizations throughout the US. Teaching private clarinet lessons was the way I discovered that I wanted to be a teacher. I began teaching private clarinet lessons to beginners while in high school, where I played with the Wind Symphony (top band) all four years under the direction of John Heath. I also played with the Philharmonic (top) Orchestra, and sat first chair in each during my senior year. I played solo clarinet for the DuPage Youth Symphony Orchestra, as well.
I have experience with IMEA auditions and music, and during my years of teaching, my students went on to place into IMEA honor bands, first division of solo and ensemble competitions, and private youth orchestras. I also have experience coaching students on audition pieces as well as solos for competitions, technique, and music theory.
I can provide recommendations on music stores, books, reeds, and more. Whether you want help with music for your band or orchestra, supplementary lessons to go beyond school music education, coaching on a solo, ...
Hi, there! My name is Darcy and I am a teaching artist in Chicago. I've been teaching and tutoring for eight years and I'm a graduate of Northwestern University. I love teaching because I love to get to know people and it is extremely rewarding to help others succeed at their goals. I pride myself in being personable and adaptable to different learning styles, and an upbeat, positive person. Not free during my listed times? Chances are, we can work something out. I teach a variety of ages, levels, and subjects: the through line is that I truly love teaching. I teach drama to kindergarteners and high school English classes, clarinet to middle school students, ballet to three-year-olds, and tap to adults older than I am. I often teach large groups but find it most rewarding to work ...
I have a master's degree in clarinet performance, but an even better degree in teaching music.
Jon N. was born and raised in Mexico City and is proudly an American citizen. He has been performing since the age of three, on several instruments, studying music since fourteen, and still takes lessons to this day. What's not to love? He is proud to teach at all levels, including many professional musicians with master’s degrees, adult beginners, and of course, kids of all ages between 8 and 75. They are encouraged to select the music they want to learn, so we have worked on classical music and original compositions, which I also coach, jazz, blues, pop, rock, the Great American Songbook, reggae, seven different kinds of Jewish music, and other ethnic music from all over the globe. Frequently the younger students will request a tune I've never heard, but I magically transform ...
