Nicole E. Salt Lake City, UT

I've been teaching flute for 10 years to students of many ages an abilities. My focus is on classical flute playing but I would be happy to branch out with you according to your interests.

About Nicole

I am a graduate student at Brigham Young University School of Music and also hold a Bachelor's degree in Flute Performance. I have 11 years teaching experience with students of all ages, and 16 years of playing experience. My students regularly hold top positions in their school bands and orchestras. *** Lesson Details *** I believe music lessons should be both exciting and educational. I have high expectations for my students, and we work together in lessons to help you become an excellent musician. Lessons are structured around learning technical studies like scales and arpeggios, etudes or exercise books, and solos. I also believe in helping students develop sight reading skills, so lessons regularly end with a duet that the student sight reads as I play along. In the ...

Amber S. Sandy, UT

I manage and teach a private studio of flute students in the Sandy/Southern Salt Lake area. I also travel to Provo once a week. I teach students of all levels (children and adults), and have been doing so for 12 years. By teaching concepts of deliberate practice (meaning practicing with a purpose) in lessons, students are exposed to a more meaningful way to approach music, and the frustration level decreases. Music should be enjoyable in many aspects, and helping students attain goals is what I do best. I host periodic student recitals and help prepare students to reach their personal goals in music.

About Amber

I currently hold a B.M. and M.M. degree in flute performance from Brigham Young University. That being said, I am able to provide a higher level of performance, demonstration, and pedagogy in your lessons. I have orchestral performance experience including my most recent position of principal flutist for the Timpanogos Symphony in American Fork, UT. Please see my website for more detailed information about my studio policies. I primarily teach from my home, but I am willing to commute to student's homes, and compensation will be slightly adjusted depending on mileage from my residence. I am experienced in teaching all levels of performance from beginner to advanced, and of all ages! I would love to meet you!

Jennifer H. Provo, UT

Flute students should bring a working flute to every lesson.

About Jennifer

I teach voice, piano and flute to a myriad of students from all ages! I specialize in a plethora of genres in all three instruments. I am eager to help you or your child learn the joy that comes through music! Please note some exceptions to those ages under my specialties. Piano students are only taught in their homes and voice students must be older than age 11.

My lesson with Jennifer was very thorough pertaining to what I want to accomplish. Jennifer was friendly, caring and concerned about my questions and concerns. She is on the ball and to the point and I enjoyed the lesson.
Jessica S. Provo, UT

Experienced Flute teacher of 10 years with experience in all levels . I structure my lessons so students have fun, while also building a strong foundation of correct posture, hand positioning, tonal quality, correct flute technique and performance anxiety. I specialize in Piccolo/Flute and adjust lessons to each individual, typically use French flute methods with modifications. I believe if you play the piccolo you should study methods as much as the flute. I also teach/tutor music theory.

About Jessica

I graduated from Ball State University in 2010 with my Bachelors in Music. I have been giving lessons for 10 years now. I have been rebuilding my studio since I moved across the United States. I have studied privately under Dr. Julia Mattern (Ball State), Dr. Leslie Maaser (Wright State), Dr. Mihoko Watanabe (Ball State) and Mary Richards (UVU). Each professor has had their own style and techniques for teaching music and has given me a very broad range of tools to use in teaching music. I have performed and participated in a variety of master classes offered in the Mid-west (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan) performing for, but not all inclusive, Dr. Sandra Seefield (Miami of Ohio), Dr. Amy Porter (University of Michigan), and studying flute body mapping with Dr. Lea Pearson (Ohio University).
