Lessons in the performing arts are a journey of awareness. The studio is a place where you come to discover how music fits into your self and your life. Born in the Midwest, I spent seven graduate years in Paris performing, teaching, and researching. I am currently organist at Unity Church Unitarian in St. Paul and spend my time finding and learning repertoire by composers from around the world, every gender expression, and all faith and philosophical traditions. In-person students take lessons on a 3-manual, 44-rank tracker instrument with AGO standard pedalboard. I am currently taking students only on a weekly basis. Organ students need regular access to an instrument with full pedalboard to practice on and should already be familiar with music notation.

You can learn to play on a pipe organ or electronic organ or your choice. Being a Church organist and choir director since age 16 , I can help you to read the Hymnals and understand the liturgical services of many different denominations. You can also learn how to play popular music using all the sounds available on the keyboards and foot pedals.

Gospel organ lessons

Organ: Starts with the basics of piano. Finger techniques, learning notes, rhythms, reading, chords, scales, theory, soloing. There are many different types of organs. Electric, Hammond, Pipe to name a few. Some have and some have dual or triple keyboards, pedals,, whistles and bells:) I can teach you whichever organ you would like to learn. It will be a lot of fun!
