Don't be afraid of the range! Bass clarinet is the cello of the woodwind family, and I will help you play beyond your wildest expectations for yourself. You will develop solid technique, while learning to play lyrically. You will get to enjoy plenty of low notes, but you will also learn the beautiful high range, read other clefs, and play everything from new music composed for bass clarinet, to works for other instruments such as cello and bassoon, as well as early music and jazz ballads.

About Aage

Oregon native Aage (pronounced like Owen without N) has been teaching woodwinds to students of all ages for thirty years. He has performed throughout the US and Denmark, as well as Iceland (International Viola Congress) and Holland (World Bass Clarinet Conference). He taught for many years at The C

A great first lesson. Aage was able to identify my level and chart a course for lessons quickly, drawing on lots of resources and knowledge. I’m just starting clarinet with plenty of saxophone experience, and I think Aage is the right person to guide me.

DeAnna has excellent credentials as a pianist and music theorist, but more importantly for me she is a patient teacher and good communicator who works hard to ensure that I learn and understand even the most basic skills and techniques. She is also fun to talk to and be with, and her love of music is infectious. She is an excellent teacher for an older student, and I imagine for younger ones too.

Deanna was great! Nice, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I learned basic technique which already has me feeling more comfortable. I'm looking forward to progressing and confident I've made the right choice.

My first lesson was a lot of fun! Peter is great at helping you feel at ease and comfortable. I was extremely nervous and he was great with making me feel like I was right at home with a friend! I also appreciate that he is not rigid in his teaching techniques or format. He caters your lesson to what your learning desires are and is very good at recognizing your skill level (or lack of 😁). I also appreciate how encouraging he is. I’m super excited to continue on my Saxophone journey!

My child really enjoyed his first lesson with peter. Peter is a very talented musician and he made the lesson fun! My child seemed to learn a lot from just one lesson with peter and he enjoys practicing what he learned at home.

Peter is a great teacher. He finds what your level is and goes from there. Peter finds what kind of style of learning best fits you.
For me, when Peter is playing the drums or Piano after he has given me the structures/scales makes it very easy to learn. Very patient and encouraging. Ask yourself- Why aren’t YOU taking lessons with Peter?

Guitar Chord Charts: 11 Easy Tips to Read Fingering Charts on Acoustic Guitars
