For me, when Peter is playing the drums or Piano after he has given me the structures/scales makes it very easy to learn. Very patient and encouraging. Ask yourself- Why aren’t YOU taking lessons with Peter?

Students will be shown proper technique, as a bass player your sense of rhythm and feel is very important so a lot of focus of understanding, reading and writing rhythms. Being able to navigate through chord progressions is also key so an understanding of theory and its applications on the neck will receieve a lot of focus. For new comers, a method book is highly suggested to work through.

I’ve been playing guitar on and off for 10+ years and was really stuck because I didn’t know the first thing about music theory (especially as it related to guitar). I’ve been taking lessons with Andrew for 6+ months and it’s been a great investment. Ear training is so important with guitar and Andrew has brought me to a point where I can pick up notes from songs without needing tabs. We’ve covered everything from music theory (keys, chord theory, major/minor scales, root notes, octave shapes) to blues. I can now confidently play songs from Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan and licks from John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr.
I remember our first lesson I asked him, “ So how long do you think it will take for me to be able to solo along with a track?”
“How about today?” -Andrew
My son has been learning the guitar for a couple of years with Andrew and I couldn’t be happier with his progress. His connection with Andrew was instant and he is always excited to learn more from him.

Alex is an awesome teacher! His ability to communicate information in a way that is easily understood no matter the complexity is a rare thing. Alex is obviously extremely passionate about teaching and music. Alex goes above the expected level of effort from a teacher, making sure every lesson has new and interesting material to be covered, as well as staying in contact as needed outside of lessons to answer any questions that may arise while practicing. If you are looking for someone who is dedicated to your learning process, as well as doing everything they can to keep material interesting and fun, I would suggest Alex."

I went in to lessons with Peter looking for some review on theory and notation reading but I received much more. When I asked for a lesson on a specific subject he addressed exactly what I was looking for, as well as a quick history of the topics that we discussed. The combination of playing the bass, learning music theory, and music history, made these lessons very unique and a lot of fun for me. I would recommend Peter to any musician who likes a well rounded approach to music."

Looking for a way to make your bass lines move? Bass guitar teacher Miller W. shares his three step plan to creating walking bass lines... The walking bass line is one of the most fundamental parts of American music. It is found most commonly in blues and jazz, but as you learn bass guitar, you will hear its influence in almost any style of music. A walking bass line provides a strong rhythmic and harmonic foundation by smoothly moving from each chord to the next using four quarter notes pe …
