Phillip was an excellent oboe teacher for our middle school daughter. He determined what was causing problems with her instrument and was very focused on helping her with her band assignments.

I'm re-learning the piano with David and he has changed my relationship to music for the better. After only a few lessons with David I've gotten a greater understanding of music theory than I had in my few years of early piano training. He is patient and flexible with his style of teaching. If it's taking me awhile to understand a concept he's good at explaining it more clearly. I definitely recommend him for learning the piano!

David is a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist and producer. I was introduced when he recorded an EP for my band and since then, we've spent many an evening talking about performing, recording, teaching and making music. He is kind, patient and extremely knowledgable about his craft. I always learn something new, interesting and immediately applicable to my playing when I work with him. I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his students and they have always been exceptionally professional and prepared. I highly recommend David for lessons in whatever discipline you request - the crossover knowledge from all of his experiences will be invaluable to you.

"My 6 years old daughter naturally loves to play the piano. She had two other teachers before we met Niki and they were not able to help my daughter to keep her focused and have fun /enjoy the piano lesson. With Niki , my daughter became excited every week to go to piano class and practices at home on her own. Niki has a way of inspiring my daughter to love playing the piano even more. My daughter is always excited for the recitals ,( Which she performed in one yesterday) Recitals are very helpful to promote self confidence at young age.
Niki is an excellent teacher and highly recommended !"

"Great teacher! Ms. Lana has been in our home for the last 12 years teaching both of my daughters and their expertise is a testament to her teaching ability. Over 12 years, they have learned to read and play very complicated pieces all the while enjoying her lessons and her company. After each lesson, she grades the students performance and gives a very brief report to the parents on how the student is progressing. She encourages parental involvement and genuinely cares for the entire family. Lana is a pleasure to have in your home and a very positive educator for youngsters. I have recommended her to many of my neighbors and she is in high demand in Glenview."

6 New Ideas for Piano Warm-Ups

We all know the importance of warming up - but do you actually commit to a proper warm-up every time you sit down to play the piano?  If you're in a rush, it's easy to forget it.  However, an effective warm-up is essential for avoiding injuries, such as tendonitis, and can also help increase the dexterity of your fingers and hands, allowing you to reach certain tough chords. Before you get into the "meat and potatoes" of your practice session, you'll want to spend a good 10-15 minutes focus …
