All that I request from a student is a desire to learn. I will work with you at your pace to achieve the musical goals you have. Each student begins at a different level.
The first lesson will focus on your musical background. If you are a beginner, that's no problem. I specialize in working with beginning students to teach them all the joy and satisfaction there is in mastering an instrument.
I love to laugh and the lessons are very laid back and fun, but I desire that a student move forward and learn new techniques.
You will be playing simple songs after your first lesson. I'm asked many times by students "how long will it take until I'm good." My answer is: that is in direct proportion to the amount of time you dedicate to practicing. After a month or two, you will know how to read music and have a basic understanding of music theory.
I use various curriculum depending on the student's need. For guitar, Hal Leonard or Mel Bay.
About Don
Don brings over 38 years of teaching experience in Piano, Voice, and Guitar. His relaxed and humorous approach to music encourages students to embrace a love for the musical art. With 2 American Idol finalists to his credit, along with numerous students who have gone on to professional careers

Nothing is more satisfying than hearing yourself playing a song that moves and inspires you! With 15 years of playing guitar I now pass on that knowledge to my students. Helping people learn the fundamentals of guitar playing and music is both an amazing and invaluable experience. We will not only go over how to play the guitar but also music theory and how to write your own songs! I try to keep my lessons both fun and engaging as they are not just about drills and lesson plans but instead are catered to the individual student and what they want to learn. I teach all ages as it is never too late to pickup a guitar and start playing! I also rent out guitars to students just starting out who do not have an instrument yet for $5 a week and give advice on how to pick their first guitar! I am also available to teach online or in person!

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Richard has been a wonderful teacher for our 13-year-old son. He is patient, informative, and interesting; he makes his lessons engaging, yet appropriate for our son's proficiency level. He is also extremely professional, well-mannered and considerate.
Richard is the real deal. You can tell that he loves music and that he loves to perform, but he's also great at instruction, which is an unusual combination. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone."

I was a little concerned about trying to pick up guitar in my early 40s, but its been a rewarding experience so far and I’m looking forward to more lessons with Nick."

Is there a best age for learning guitar? We asked guitar teacher Linda L., who has taught young children, teens, adults, and seniors for her take... My opinion on the best age at which to start learning guitar has evolved over the years. I started teaching myself to play the guitar at the age of 14. The book that I used to teach myself featured photos of a 7-year-old girl demonstrating how each chord was to be played. The author of the book told the readers that he had this youn …
