How do you make awesome music in Ableton?
Start with the music that excites you. Listen, analyze and notice all the sounds you're hearing.
Then, you make a soundalike. In the process, we analyze everything you hear, and learn all the tricks of recording, sound design, producing and mixing.
Then, you try making your own music, using the sounds you know and new sounds you discover on the fly.
One project at a time, you figure out how music works, master the software, and become capable of making just about any sound you want to hear.
I've been making music with Ableton for a while- I made my first record as a songwriter almost entirely in Ableton 9. I learned everything by trial and error and a lot of YouTube watching, so I can help you avoid the initial stumbles I made and set you up for success with the most powerful software on the market for music creation.
I won't be lecturing you- we'll be working together, collaborating on music you can be proud of. Shoot me a message ...
About Ethan
My musical life started at the piano when I was four. I've spent the last five years helping students understand the sounds that speak to them and bring them into their own music-making. I spent my early years playing piano, then picked up the saxophone, which took me to Berklee College of Music,

For so long, I felt stuck and overwhelmed using Ableton. The mass of knowledge about music and music theory and production and mixing seemed so like so much! Thanks to Jarod, I no longer feel that way. It feels totally doable and way less overwhelming. I am way more confident working in Ableton and feel motivated and excited instead of dread opening the DAW every day. Instead of continuing to hit my head against a wall watching video after video, I am so thankful I chose to do lessons with him.

The main goal of an Ableton class is to be able to effectively use all the tools that you are given to achieve your specific goal. Each student will have a different idea of what they want to create with this software, and its really important to be able to remove the technical obstacles and get straight to the creating. I will enable each student to be able to better visualize their projects, and I will train their ears to be able to better listen to sound such that they can understand the specifics behind creative decisions. As a producer you have to take both microscopic and macroscopic views when it comes to a piece of music, understanding how both a small sound can affect the progression of a story though music, and how the story itself unfolds over time. This can all be done through practical training in Ableton Live.
About Aashray
I am a professional pianist/keyboardist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Arts in Music & Technology and am pursuing my MFA as a Performer-Composer at CalArts in Valencia, CA. With my diverse background in both the technical a

Kyle made it so much easier to understand and learn about features, tools and workflow within Ableton. Thanks Kyle, you're awesome!"

Jarod and I have been working together weekly for more than a year now. Prior to us working together I had zero production knowledge and very little musical knowledge. I didn’t even know what a MIDI was. Jarod structured his lessons initially around how to use Ableton, but to say he is an ableton teacher would be inaccurate. Jarod has in fact been an immersive teacher across all aspects of edm music production including production, song writing, mixing, mastering, audio engineering, music theory, vocal production and the music business. He possess deep domain expertise across all these topics, and teaches patiently, with humor and with an infallibly positive attitude.
Within a year I have produced a number of songs and will hopefully release one soon. I have learnt how to produce, structure and compose all elements of an edm song, much faster than if was self taught with YouTube videos.
It’s very unique to be able to learn from a signed artist who is actively releasing music. I highly recommend Jarod if you are interested in learning music production. He will be a great partner to you and friend!"
