Jon E. Reno, NV

About Jon

I sort of fell into teaching when a friend/teacher recommended me as a substitute teacher at Musicians Institute in L.A.. I walked into the class with no prior teaching experience but just took to it naturally from day one. Soon I was teaching there full time. I later learned that I come from a long line of teachers, it runs in the family. I think of teaching basically as this, recognizing a students needs and goals and then communicating with them clearly and simply in order to accomplish those goals. I enjoy teaching and often learn from my students in unforeseen ways. I consider my students to be friends.

Emily L. Camino, CA

About Emily

I have been taking music lessons since I was five. It brought so much joy to my family and I grew to have a passion for instruments and the beautiful noise that they bring. I started teaching lessons in 2002, and in 2010 I became a teacher at Boys and Girls Club. I taught any musical instrument the kids could bring from school along with theory lessons. I believe that through musical theory and composition kids get a chance to not just play any instrument but also understand how the music is made and why certain symbols mean different things. They learn to read music and understand it, which has always brought my students great excitement when they can read music better than anyone in their bands and be the first to raise their hand. I prefer to teach through what the student is ...

Stafford H. South Lake Tahoe, CA

About Stafford

Hello, Im Stafford :) and I have been living in Lake Tahoe for about 2 years. I have been playing guitar now for just about 10 years. I have taken private lessons for most of my guitar career. I've found no matter what your skill set, you can never stop progressing as a guitarist if you're willing to learn. I have been teaching privately for about 4 years and love being able to share my knowledge and passion for guitar with those who are learning. I teach a skill range from complete beginner to intermediate. If you are located in Lake Tahoe or Carson City and you are interested in learning guitar or bettering your abilities as a guitarist/musician, then I would love to work with you in achieving your goals. I have no problem traveling if preferred. I also offer online lessons.

Holly S. Reno, NV

About Holly

Greetings! My name is Holly and I absolutely love teaching music. I'm currently a full time elementary general music teacher where I teach all students grades k-6. I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from The Ohio State University in the spring of 2012, then moved out to Reno for my full-time teaching job. I especially love teaching beginner students on piano, trumpet, guitar and french horn. I can teach intermediate students on trumpet and horn and advanced students on horn. (French horn was my main instrument in college.) I like to make my lessons fun, creative and full of juicy musical knowledge. I'm quick to tell a joke and help new students feel comfortable and relaxed. I look forward to meeting you and helping you learn a new instrument!
