*** Lesson Details *** I am here to teach you at the pace that works best for you! Everyone is different and everyone likes different styles of music- I try to cater to that as much as possible. I will always set the expectation bar as high as you're willing to go.
For piano, when teaching in books, I normally go for the Faber! For guitar, various renditions of Hal Leonard, and for voice, The Rock and Roll Singer's Survival Manual. If you feel that you're better suited to learn primarily by ear or without the specific training of instruction books, let me know and we can pursue alternatives.
*** Studio Equipment *** Great room setup for lessons with keyboard and instruments. Parents can sit in on lessons.
*** Specialties *** Mark Baxter (Steven Tyler, Steve Perry vocal coach) method- geared toward pop/rock/country/blues.

Missy is a great teacher!
Missy has been very helpful, and I started seeing almost immediate improvement in my vocal range, which ultimately led to greater confidence. She is fun to work with and talk to. She not only gives vocal exercises and tricks, but explains the reasons for doing them, how they're going to help. I reccomend her as highly as possible!!!

Great teacher for multiple instruments
This instructor has a solid foundation in music theory which can help students of all skill levels and instrument choice...including voice. I have already benefited from her expertise on both piano and voice as instruments, as well as general music concepts like voice leading, use of scale, tonal variation and dynamic. Very easy to understand and work with. I have no reservations about recommending this instructor.

great local talent
Missy is very professional and provides some interesting pointers, (HeHe), not laughing. I expect to gain much ability from her input. I am a beginner singer, but elderly. I believe Missy will be able to extend my vocal range. I entered a singing contest last year for the first time and this is why I have chosen to get some lessons. See you on the Ryman stage in the latter part of this year.
I hold a B.F.A. in Vocal Performance from The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music in NYC and teach beginning, hobbyist singers all the way through to working, professional singers. That involves developing your technique, vocal health, and an overall familiarity with how your voice functions.
Hi! I'm a singer/songwriter who recently relocated to Nashville from Brooklyn, NY. I just got off the road from singing backing vocals for Miley Cyrus on the Bangerz World Tour and am looking forward to picking up with my students again and hopefully working with some new ones! I've been teaching since 2006 in addition to writing and performing my original music as well as singing backing vocals for various artists such as Amos Lee, Sheryl Crow, The Roots, and more.

When it comes to teaching piano, I work with beginner students and was mainly teaching children ages 5 and up back in NYC. That's not to say if you're an adult we couldn't work together! I like to work from a workbook of some kind-my students and I were using the 'Bastien Series' and 'Dozen A Day' in addition to other repertoire books.
In addition to playing, some of my students liked to compose original music which I highly encourage and help foster if that's something you desire to do.
I'd love to talk with you more about what you, or your child is looking to achieve through taking piano or voice lessons!

dani brought a fun atmosphere to learning piano
dani taught my two children for more than two years. my third child started taking lessons with her after he turned six. she taught them to enjoy music. she made it fun and was open to them experimenting and creating their own music while teaching them technique. she was always supportive and patient with my kids. they love her and miss her.

Dani taught my 10-year-old daughter piano for 2 years. She supremely professional, thorough, and most importantly fun. My daughter couldn't wait for her weekly lessons. As she says, Dani is "awesome." Dani was able to deftly make the lessons educational but also lively. My daughter still loves to play, practices without being asked, and reads music well. I credit that to Dani's focus, patience and enthusiasm. She always showed up smiling, and to my daughter's delight also had stickers for her lesson book after each class. I cannot recommend her enough, and am sad that we don't live in the same city so my daughter can continue her lessons with her. A wonderful teacher.

Great with Kids - Professional & Reliable!
Dani was our piano teacher in nyc - we miss her so much, Nashville is lucky to have her! We have 2 kids, 8 & 9 years old, and they enjoyed having lessons with Dani very much. Always reliable & professional, Dani has a special way with children. She makes them & their music feel important and she never talks down to them. She also knows how to motivate, encourage & celebrate them. We highly recommend Dani as a piano teacher.

I am passionate about Music and Music Education. It's rewarding for me to watch my students develop in their musical skill and enjoy making music more and more. My students range from the very young (4 years old) to school age children, to teens, and adults. My students benefit from my expertise in teaching Vocal and Piano music, my knowledge of Music Theory, and my encouraging teaching style. I have been involved in making music since I was a young child, and I have been teaching private students since I was a Music major at the University of Florida in 1982 when a fellow college student as
ked me to teach her voice lessons. I have a Music Education degree from the University of Florida; my major instrument was Voice, my minor was Piano. I taught as a public school music educator in Florida, California, and Tennessee between the years of 1983 to 1997. I taught private students after school in my classroom while I was a public school teacher, and from my home since 1997. My post-graduate continuing professional education includes Tennessee Arts Academy at Belmont University, Kodaly Pedagogy and Solfege Level 1 (vocal teaching techniques, do-re-mi, ear training), Orff-Schulwerk Music for Children Level 1 certification, Yamaha M.I.E. (Music In Education) Piano Lab certification. My professionalism and expertise are at your service. I will work together with you to insure an enjoyable and informative learning experience.
*** Lesson Details *** A typical lesson in my studio would begin with a brief question/answer time with the student to learn how their week has gone, and how their music practice is progressing.
For PIANO LESSONS we begin with Technique including scales and dexterity exercises, then we play from the Lesson book and a Recital selection. I typically let the student play through the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to play the piece again. After that we go over the Theory assignments, and do Ear Training exercises. I am comfortable teaching from a variety of different methods courses. The methods course is chosen according to the student's interest. I never require a piano student to continue using books that are not inspiring. There so many methods courses available, that a student may always be able to have methods books they LOVE.
In my SINGING LESSONS we also begin with a recap of the student's week. Then we continue with Warm Up exercises to prepare the student's voice for the lesson. Then we study Sight Singing and Solfege Singing (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do) to increase the student's listening skills. After that the student sings their selections. Like I do in Piano lessons, I listen to the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to sing the piece again. I am comfortable teaching many styles of vocal music including classical, Broadway, pop, rock, and Christian.
For MUSIC THEORY lessons, the study material is chosen according to the student's interest and age. Topics include notation, chord structure, chord progression, melodic structure, and harmony. I also incorporate Music Listening in the Music Theory lesson in order to learn from the masters in many styles of music. My Music Theory students will also have the opportunity to develop composition and songwriting skills if they desire.
My teaching style is structured and friendly, keeping the student's goals and interests at the forefront. I enjoy motivating students to reach their highest potential. After 3 to 6 months in my studio my students will see improvement in their musical technique, ear training, music reading, notation, and knowledge. They will be preparing recital pieces for an upcoming performance. I provide two recital opportunities a year: in December, and in May. Most importantly, the student's love and appreciation of music will be growing.
*** Studio Equipment *** Living Room: piano near front entryway, couch, loveseat, over-sized chair, dining room table, open space, end table with chair, parents can sit in on lesson.
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide lesson books, the students should provide their instrument.
I do have a mobile keyboard to bring for SINGING lessons.
*** Specialties *** Kodaly Pedagogy and Solfege Level 1

Erica makes her home in Nashville after years of performing on the road with cruise ships, theme parks, and a Broadway tour. Privately, she teaches pop, country, musical theatre, jazz, rock, and folk singing. She also works closely with the youth program at Street Theatre Company, producing and directing Class Act Dramatic musicals.
*** Lesson Details *** Erica works with students of all ages to study correct singing practices, inc
reasing range, tone quality, breath support, and a well rounded repertoire. She also concentrates on the performance side of singing. This builds confidence, poise, and self-esteem in any student as well as emphasizes the importance of the story-telling aspect of a singer.
She works with the student to create a curriculum that will keeps the student's goals in mind while creating an atmosphere that stimulates creativity in the teaching style that is most effective for the individual.
*** Studio Equipment *** Erica teaches out of the Rob H. home studio in Goodlettsville and out of her home studio in East Nashville.

Erica has been a great voice teacher for my daughter. My daughter has only been taking lessons since July and she has come a long way & really enjoys Erica & her lessons. Erica encouraged her to sing a solo in the Christmas Recital recently & over time, my daughter, felt confident enough to perform and she performed wonderfully. Erica has also been very flexible at switching our lesson days b/c my daughter is also involved in sports and have had many scheduling conflicts.

Singing is one of the most personal forms of musicianship because your instrument is a part of your body!
In our lesson we will learn how to keep that instrument safe while exploring all the different things you didn't even know it could do.
I am a working artist/songwriter with placements on Nickelodeon, NBC, Rockband, international radio airplay and was featured on "This Sing Off" 2014 Holiday Special with Timothy's Gift (video below). I graduated from Belmont University in 2009 with a BA in Commercial Voice-emphasis in music business. I am currently the co-owner of The Recording Republic here in Nashville, TN where my partner and I write/produce music and help develop artists. I have been teaching voice, piano, theory, performance and songwriting on and off for the past 5 years and love every second of it. I Can't wait to mee
t you and see what goals we can reach together!
*** Lesson Details *** The most important things I focus on in my lessons are positivity and building confidence. The confidence learned expressing yourself creatively is something that bleeds over into all aspects of life. It's so wonderful watching a kid (or an adult!) gradually come out of their shells during the process.
During the first lesson, I sit down with the student and talk to them about their dreams and goals. That way, I can build a curriculum that perfectly fits their needs. We can learn anything their heart desires-from classical Beethoven to writing their own music! For basic piano I love to use the "Bastien" and "Alfred" basic collections because they are what I grew up on.
Can't wait to meet you!
*** Studio Equipment *** In my studio I have a weighted keyboard, mic, amp, mirror and video for recording performances.
*** Travel Equipment *** Mic, amp and video recorder are portable. Student must provide piano for in home visits. And plus, you'll need one to practice!
*** Specialties *** I specialize in beginner classical piano and improvisation, beginner-advanced voice, theory, performance and songwriting of all styles.

Highly recommend Brianne!
I started taking piano lessons with Brianne a little over two months ago, and I have seen a huge improvement in my performance and confidence. Brianne is very professional and experienced, and she knows exactly what she's talking about. My favorite thing about the lessons is that she is takes time to get to know her students to find out exactly what their goals are and what they hope to get out of the lessons. I came in with some piano experience and an idea of what I wanted, and she was able to customize my lessons so that they perfectly fit me. Brianne is very encouraging and wants you to succeed. I would definitely recommend taking lessons from her!

I've learned soo much in such a short time
i've always wanted to learn how to play the piano but I never could find the right teacher. Brianne has really helped me find my place as a budding piano player. She is very thorough and makes learning fun. She creates such a calm atmosphere with no judgment and i really enjoy that. Another thing that separates her from the other teachers i've had is that she doesn't teach based on her agenda she teaches me what i want to know. I can't wait fro my next lesson!
