Samantha G.

Lady Lake, FL

About Samantha

For eight years now, Samantha has combined her love of music with her passion of cultivating an understanding and affinity to music in others by maintaining a private voice and piano studio for all ages and levels. As a performer herself, Samantha understands what it is like to be a student. Therefore, she makes it a goal to create a warm and nurturing environment while simultaneously challenging and daring her students to reach beyond what they think is possible.

A current voice student wrote this about Samantha:

"I love taking lessons with Samantha! She really has a lot of patience and
works well with my voice. She doesn't give up on helping me reach notes, and makes me realize that I can do more with my voice than I would expect. She has developed my voice in the best way possible. I look forward to every lesson with her!"

In addition to teaching, Samantha maintains an active performance schedule as an opera singer. Described as being “silver-voiced,” soprano Samantha Geraci-Yee most recently “brought down the house” as Tuptim in The King and I with Central Florida Lyric Opera where she is a Resident Artist. Prior to her residency, she made her professional symphonic debut with Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra as Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni). Ms. Geraci-Yee has also performed roles including Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), and Anne (A Little Night Music).

Samantha completed her Bachelor of Music Degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music and her Master of Music Degree from Temple University.

A Little More about Lessons with Samantha. . .
One of my strengths as a teacher is that I can easily cater and adjust to the needs of the student and their learning processes. I formulate my lesson plans according to the level, experience, and goals of the student. Each lesson is extremely personalized and highly individualized to maximize the potential success of the student during our time together.

Research has proven that performing music is one of the few activities that engages both the left and the right portions of the brain simultaneously. Towards this end, my teaching places equal importance on developing a strong technique all while nurturing creative instincts.

All ages and levels are welcomed!

Natalie H.

Yalaha, FL

About Natalie

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, at the age of 9, Natalie knew music was something that was just a part of who she was. Writing songs on the piano before lessons could be scheduled, Natalie found herself immersed in a medium that would bring her joy for the rest of her life.

By age 14 Natalie had won several trophies competing in Classical piano with the Illinois Music Association.

As an adult, she would go on to fill her life with the world of music as a singer, songwriter, performer and recording artist.

Graduating from Elmhurst College (1997) with a Bachelor's in M
usic, Natalie received high accolades earning a membership in the Lambda Sigma Psi Music Honor Society.

During her college years, Natalie created and owned a local music publication called, "The Local Buzz". At this moment she had discovered her desire to teach. "I just wanted everyone I knew in music to know and use what I was learning, or had learned from the music classes, professionals I had been meeting and working with, and my overall music life experiences". By 1997, Natalie was signed to an independent label and embarked on a new adventure.

"Music is an adventure, but without the foundation and passion I had as a child, I would have never landed where I did. I truly LOVE to teach and share what I know about piano, and the world of music. Music is what I know, and know best. Helping to create a solid foundation and build confidence in someone embarking on a journey in music is the most rewarding profession I have ever had the honor of participating in."

*** Lesson Details ***
Natalie enjoys teaching students of any age, but specializes in piano, voice (beginner to intermediate) and beginning guitar, tailoring lessons to each individual's goals and reasons for learning whether it be for personal pleasure or professional performance.

Feeding off her 35 years of personal and professional experiences, Natalie patiently listens to the student's desires, needs and notates their learning patterns, allowing for growth at their own pace.

Natalie's goal is to Make Music Matter to you and create a foundation that will allow you to continue to find joy in making music for the rest of your life.

Fun first lesson...Natalie's enthusiasm filtered right through the screen to me, and the energy provided my "get away" from the rigors of the day. She was organized and followed up to make sure all my homework was sent correct digitally. Looking forward to my next lesson

Rosely P.

Clermont, FL

About Rosely

PIANO TEACHER/TUTOR BIO:

I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and emigrated with my family to the United States, moving to Brooklyn in 1962 at the age of 9. I began my piano training in Brazil at the age of 7 and continued my studies in New York. I speak three languages fluently - English, Portuguese and Spanish.

After graduating high school, at the age of 17, I attended Hunter College briefly while continuing with piano lessons and had operatic training with a voice coach associated with the New York Metropolitan Opera. At this time, I also became a member of the Harry Belafonte Group,
touring the tri-state area schools as a singer in a musical history presentation highlighting African influence on Brazilian music.

While continuing piano lessons at the Long Island Conservatory of Music, I found my passion for teaching while still a student. During my early teaching career, I apprenticed with the conservatory's director, master teacher, composer and author of educational books, Sidney J. Lawrence. While shaping my philosophy of teaching, Mr. Lawrence became my mentor and friend. I taught 3-4 year olds in preschool music pedagogy classes while also teaching piano in a career that spans more than 30 years of working with children and adults at all levels.

I am able to adapt my teaching style to my students' unique way of thinking and communicate musical concepts in a way they can understand. I believe in not only teaching how to play the piano, but also the "language of music." This provides students with a holistic understanding that encompasses theory, technique, sight reading, basic composition, and performance, all while sharing my personal joy of music.

I now live in Clermont, FL after relocating from Georgia where I taught piano while also working as a part-time substitute teacher for the Gwinnett County Public Schools and an academics tutor for K-12 levels.

I feel that my high expectations for students encourages them to reach for the best of themselves, achieve the highest standards and carry their musical training into their future lives.

Mrs. P is an amazing piano teacher, and great for any level of experience. I'm 20 years old and knew relatively nothing about the piano, but its already been a few weeks and I'm improving and having a lot of fun. She is super helpful beyond just the lessons as well, going as far as to message with students regularly to keep up with them, and discussing with them options for purchasing their own starting pianos and practicing on their own time.

Mr. Arnold has a very thorough knowledge of music and what it takes to physically create music. If you don't understand something one way, he will explain it in other way's that you do understand. He seems to have no limit to his patience and caring about his student's. A great sense of humor, a guy you would like as a neighbor.

We found Mr. Arnold to be one of the best tutors around. He was easy to work with our changing schedule. He covered all the areas we needed, and was able to provide instruction through all levels of talent. We felt blessed for all the help he gave us, but also for the positive roll model he was.

Cara is one of the most talented and incredible music teachers that I have ever known. She taught two of my children for the past several years - my son studied violin and my daughter studied piano. Cara has an incredible gift to understand how children learn and to encourage their confidence. She personally helped my son to not only do well, but to excel by becoming concert-master, winning a concerto competition and to gain entrance into a very acclaimed string music program.

It is one thing to simply teach and quite another to develop children into talented musicians. Cara understands children, she is extremely knowledgeable about music and incredibly talented at being more than just a teacher, She provides not only a lesson but helps children to see the possibilities of music and was a tremendous help to me to better understand how to guide my children's musical aspirations. I consider her one of the most talented individuals that I have ever known and would not hesitate to have my children enrolled as one of her students.

Hi, Three of our children took violin lessons with Cara Arnold for 4-5 years. She was an amazing violin teacher. She understood how to tailor her lessons to each individual child and was adept at finding music pieces that were challenging but also fun for the kids to learn. She has an enthusiasm for violin that she shared with our children and was always encouraging to them- but was also able to toe the line or ask for more when needed. I highly recommend her as a violin teacher. She is thoroughly knowledgeable in her subject and has years of experience with all ages. She also completely enjoys her job and it shows.
