About Michael
Michael has worked with kids for 10 years in schools and arts programs to find fun and their best self through performance. He has taught orchestra, chamber music, jazz band and music theory in the public schools, while performing in local ensembles in and around the city. He also has studied drama, voice and movement and believes all these skills help in expressing yourself--no matter what pieces you want to play!

In addition to working with students K-12, he also loves working with adults. I try to provide a nurturing atmosphere for someone trying revive or discover previously hidden musical interests!

*** Lesson Details ***
We begin with what we love. The student usually chooses one of his or her favorite songs to interpret. Later, we add music, usually from the classical or jazz fields, that build our skills and help us f
eel successful. All technique is based on real music. Learning scales, keys and music theory become part of the music. By the end of 6 months, we will have a "repertoire" of several songs that express our best self!

Motivated

I'm a senior citizen that still works. I played some other instruments when I was younger and always wanted to play piano and Michael has motivated me to continue to learn and fit my practice into my work schedule. Anyone who wants to learn to play an instrument should look no further then Michael.

Locally there are no quality trumpet teachers within 45 minute of our home. My son, who has played in middle school for the last two years, started lessons with Chris online 3 weeks ago. Although I was a little pessimistic on how well my son would respond, everything has been great. Chris is very good with explaining concepts and is very patient. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for online trumpet lessons.

There are some restrictions based on the maturity of the child and the goals of the lessons. Kids under 13-14 years of age are not very focused on practicing or conceptual musical ideas. If we are just teaching and reinforcing basic things and exposing the child to music, it's a great time to teach them. Otherwise I could be wasting your money.

About Kaitlynn
Hello students! I am so excited you are considering starting the violin or interested in continuing your studies! I am a recent graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA; there I got my bachelors in both music and Spanish. At Cornell I participated in symphonic orchestra all four years and was in the top 3 chairs of the first violin section. I also have experience with chamber music including playing in a string quartet that toured the Iowa area. I am a Denver native that just moved to the area and am trying to build my studio. In Colorado I taught private and group lessons with students of all ages and beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Although I am classically trained, I also have played/ taught rock, bluegrass, fiddle and "pop" music. If you take lessons with me, we will address what specific skills you would like to l
earn/ improve, while polishing things like technique and positioning. I would love to get in touch with you and help you achieve your own music goals!

I'm currently a music education major at the University of Central Oklahoma. My main instrument is trombone, but I have been playing guitar for over a decade, as well as other brass instruments such as trumpet and tuba. I perform for our top jazz ensembles, having performed in cities such as St. Louis, Greely, Colorado, and even around Oklahoma City for both middle and high schools. In a couple years I plan on being a band director for public school, as I want to send my passion for music down to younger kids. With one on one sessions with younger kids, not only will I gain experience for my career in the future, but my students will gain great experience for their beginner and high school bands that they too can even pass down to their friends they play along with!

About Sayra
I am a singer/songwriter and a worship leader. I currently co-lead at a church and perform when an opportunity presents itself. I graduated from ACM @ UCO with an associates in Vocal Performance and a desire to teach. I have been performing, leading worship, and mentoring for about 12 years. I have experience performing Classical, R&B, Jazz, Gospel, Alternative, Country, and Pop music.

I have performed and worked with full bands and many different level musicians. My students can expect to develop healthy singing habits, to expand their range, to broaden their horizons and explore different parts of their voice as I introduce them to singing different genres. I also like to incorporate my mentoring experience in with the vocal lessons by breaking down songs and helping the students interpret them on a personal level. I want my students
not only to learn how to sing in a healthy way, but to learn how to express themselves and what they are feeling through music. Along with vocal lessons, I will also begin teaching students about stage presence and how to read and room and engage their audience in different performance scenarios.

Music is a beautiful gift and I cannot wait to share it with all of you.

When there are any doubts about singing and performing live on stage and thru competition, Sayra truly helped me overcome my stage fright and built up confidence in me to perform at the highest level. I feel so grateful to have met her and give me the courage and strength to be the best singer I could be. The lesson was very comforting, professional, and knowledgeable. I will definitely book again. My last Vocal coach was not near as good as Sayra. I can't thank you enough! You will be highly recommended!
