Voice – I am an accomplished vocal coach and songwriter and currently work with a wide variety of singers from young beginners to professionals who look to develop through ear training, singing and songwriting. In a unique way I guide people to become better performers and musicians through the combination of voice, piano and composition.

I work with students as young as 3 or 4 and into their 80’s. It’s important to begin with an excellent teacher from the start to set a good foundation and to have the ability to develop as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I enjoy working with beginners as well as accomplished musicians. I also believe that music is one of the great joys of life and that lessons should be FUN!

Besides a wide variety of performance opportunities through my Family to Family Concerts, I also offer my students the curriculum and exams of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, a gold standard music curriculum.. The ABRSM is accredited in over 100 countries worldwide and exams are offered twice per year in all instruments and voice.

A message from Robert: Hello, I am a master teacher focusing on the classical repertoire along with a very creative approach to improvisation and composition. I help students to achieve their interests of music rather than focusing on teaching one particular method. Classes are tailored to the student and constantly evolving. This has led me to work in a variety of mediums and styles including Jazz, improvisation, rock and blues. This approach also enhances an understanding and love of classical music.

Michael has worked with kids for 10 years in schools and arts programs to find fun and their best self through performance. He has taught orchestra, chamber music, jazz band and music theory in the public schools, while performing in local ensembles in and around the city. He also has studied drama, voice and movement and believes all these skills help in expressing yourself--no matter what pieces you want to play!

We begin with what we love. The student usually chooses one of his or her favorite songs to interpret. Later, we add music, usually from the classical or jazz fields, that build our skills and help us f
eel successful. All technique is based on real music. Learning scales, keys and music theory become part of the music. By the end of 6 months, we will have a "repertoire" of several songs that express our best self!

Motivated

I'm a senior citizen that still works. I played some other instruments when I was younger and always wanted to play piano and Michael has motivated me to continue to learn and fit my practice into my work schedule. Anyone who wants to learn to play an instrument should look no further then Michael.

I have been playing the drum set in various bands since 2001. I have also been playing with the OKC Community Orchestra since 2009. I have played in symphonic and jazz bands and a percussion ensemble. I have taught a percussion class, private lessons, and I have been a full time music teacher in the OKC district. I am a very easygoing and patient teacher. I fully understand that the drum set requires a high level of coordination, and I am mindful of this while working with students. I will begin with proper gr
ip and stroke technique as well as the use of a metronome. I will teach the student to read rhythms and drum set notation. I know how to isolate difficult patterns, break them down into understandable parts, and reintegrate them into a piece. I like to use the music that a student enjoys to relate to the written music. I have found YouTube to be an indispensable tool for this, and my students have responded very well. I will work on snare drum technique as well, because it is the primary voice on the set, and the touch and nuance required to play it well relate to the set as well. I will tailor my instruction to suit the student's learning style and preferences. I want to make the learning fun, so I will help the student quickly gain the basic skills to play along with their favorite bands. This promotes musicality as well as solid time. It will also aid in transcription, which will come with development and is a valuable tool. I will use this in tandem with technique-building exercises to form a well rounded musician. I believe that a student should have a familiarity with his/her instrument, so we will also go over the anatomy and tuning of the set. Above all, music should be fun!

About Ignacy
Cellist Ignacy Gaydamovich is an active soloist, recitalist, teacher, chamber musician, and a recording artist. His latest CD features cello works by Lukas Foss recorded for the first time in history. Gaydamovich regularly performs in Europe, Lebanon, Japan, and the United States and is a recipient of multiple awards from Austrian, American, and Polish institutions. In 2012 he gave the Albanian premiere of the Korngold Cello Concerto with the National Radio and Tv Orchestra of Albania in Tirana. As an advocate for new music, he gave the American premiere of Cellotronicum for cello and computer by Michal Talma-Sutt, commissioned and premiered a solo work by Alexander Barsov and appeared on a crossover CD Cosmospir. He is a founding member of the Atlas Piano Trio and the principal cellist of the Boston Chamber Orchestra. From upcoming enga
gements, Gaydamovich will perform Saint-Sanes Cello Concerto No. 1 with Manchester Symphony Orchestra in December of 2017. He collaborated with pianists Janusz Grzelazka, Judith Gordon, Vyacheslav Gryaznov, Jiayan Sun, Mohamed Shams, Cihan Yücel, and Rasa Vitkauskaite; with violinists Arkady Fomin, Fernando Vizcayno, and Gary Capozziello; as well as with cellists Jesus Castro-Balbi and Christopher Adkins.

A passionate teacher and organizer, Gaydamovich has been a frequent guest at the Conservatory Music in the Mountains in Durango, Colorado. He presented masterclasses at the first middle-east orchestra program in Beirut, as well as at festivals in Japan, Poland, Lithuania, and at several American colleges and schools. He served on the cello faculty at the Texas Christian University, Mount Holyoke College, and most recently held the Visiting Assistant Professor title at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, as well as organized the first Amherst Cello Camp in June of 2017 and is the director of Amherst Art Academy.

Gaydamovich was born into an artistic family and he spent his formative years in Poland studying piano, cello, and composition. There he also devoted his time as a music director of the Dzien Smierci Mozarta theater and produced a play for light and shadow after Britten's Suite No. 1. After winning several prizes at international competitions in Austria and Poland, he moved to the United States to continue his graduate studies. There his interests expanded to include conducting.

He is a fantastic teacher, who has an in depth knowledge and practical experience not only about the technique, but also about musicianship as a whole. As an incredibly well rounded and thoughtful coach, he has helped me overcome my hurdles in playing and guided me to become a better and more thoughtful musician as well as a human being.

Dr. Carl S. will be teaching at Oklahoma State University as a Lecturer of Saxophone and Music Theory during Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert's sabbatical replacement beginning August 2017. His duties include graduate saxophone lessons, graduate music theory review, graduate saxophone pedagogy, and saxophone studio class. Carl has an online music studio through TakeLessons, where he teaches several instruments privately and in group settings including saxophone, guitar, oboe, music theory, flute, oboe, and piano.

Prior to working at OSU, Carl was Instructor of Jazz and Saxophone at South Dakota State University from 2014-2017. His responsibilities included directing the annual SDSU/Brookings Optimist Jazz Festival, directing Jazz Ensembles I-II, Jazz Combo, Jazz Improvisation lessons, Jazz Pedagogy, online Jazz Appreciation,
private saxophone lessons, saxophone quartets, private oboe lessons, and group guitar class.

Carl completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in saxophone performance at the University of Kansas in 2014, and his Master of Music Pedagogy and Performance from Oklahoma State University in 2011. He graduated from Harrah High School in 2002, earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2008, and was a 5th-12th grade Head Band Director at Fairview Public schools. He is currently a member of the North American Saxophone Alliance, the Jazz Education Network, Music Teachers National Association, treasurer of the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, and an Honorary Member of Tau Beta Sigma. He has held previous memberships with Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association.

While at KU, Carl was also a graduate teaching assistant for the saxophone studio and jazz studies program. His responsibilities included Assistant Director of the KU Jazz Festival, directing Jazz Ensembles II-III, directing Jazz Combo III-VI, assisting with the KU Jazz Festival, directing Saxophone Quartets II-III, teaching private saxophone lessons, assisting in saxophone studio class, and teaching the music education woodwind methods course. His Lecture Recital Document, A Performer’s Analysis of Selected Jazz Works for Saxophone Quartet, featured an interview with Bob Mintzer. Carl was a member of KU Jazz Ensemble I, KU Saxophone Quartet I, and KU's Helianthus New Music Ensemble. As a member of KU's Jazz Ensemble 1, Carl has performed with Dave Douglas, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Alex Sipiagin, Steve Owen, Gary Foster, Steve Houghton, Clint Ashlock, David von Kampen, Peter Epstein, Jeff Miley, James Miley, Roger Shew, and Brian Hamada, Brandon Draper, Rich Wheeler, Beau Bledsoe, Jeff Harshbarger, and Matt Otto. In July 2014, Carl went on a European tour with KU Jazz Ensemble I featuring Steve Leisring and Deborah Brown. Together, they performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Vienne Jazz Festival in France, and performed in several cities in Germany. Recordings by this band resulted in KU winning the DownBeat Student Award (Graduate College Large Jazz Ensemble Division) in 2015.

While at OSU, Carl was a GTA for the saxophone studio and music theory programs. His responsibilities included Music Theory I-IV tutoring and grading, sight-singing grading, piano labs, classical and jazz saxophone lessons, saxophone quartet coaching, saxophone studio Webmaster, and saxophone studio class. Carl was a member of the OSU Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble 1. He had a regularly performing jazz trio and played in OSU's X2End saxophone quartet. The X2End quartet performed locally at the 2011 Navy Band Saxophone Symposium in Washington D.C., at the 2011 NASA Region IV Conference, and has won the state and division rounds of the 2010-2011 MTNA Chamber Music Competition. The X2End quartet went on to win the 3rd place prize at the national final round of the MTNA Chamber Music Competition. They also were the Division II Chamber Ensemble winners at the 2011 Hubbard Music Competition where they were awarded the 2nd place prize in the overall finals. Carl's final degree paper at OSU was a study of composer/performer collaboration. He traveled to Texas, Michigan, and Ohio to interview saxophonists and composers including David Dees, Peter Fischer, John Sampen,Marilyn Shrude, Joe Lulloff, and Charles Ruggiero. He has presented his lecture at the 2011 Navy Band Saxophone Symposium, the 2011 NASA Region IV Conference, and the 2012 OSU Single Reed Summit. As a member of OSU's Jazz Ensemble 1, he has performed with Bob Sheppard, Conrad Herwig, Wayne Bergeron, and Andy Martin.

While at SWOSU, Carl performed as a member of the marching band, wind ensemble, Jazz Ensemble A, saxophone quartet, and his own jazz combo named Five-Seven. As a member of SWOSU's Jazz Ensemble A, he has performed with Dan Haerle, Bob Bowman, Jack Mouse, Fred Forney, Janice Borla, Eddie Daniels, Pamela York, Lynn Seaton, Carl Allen, Dr. Michael Cox, Tom Williams, Dr. Robert Chambers, Dave Hanson, Drori Mondlak, Delores Williams, Byron Stripling, Frank Wess, Kenny Drew Jr.,Dennis Mackrel, Bill Watrous, Rich Eames, Jennifer Leitham, and Randy Drake.

Carl's primary saxophone instructors have been Vince Gnojek, Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert, Dr. Ann Bradfield, Dr. Keith Talley, and William Rodney Hull. He has had additional instruction in lessons and masterclasses from Gary Foster, Dr. Joseph Murphy, Dr. Michael Cox, Bob Sheppard, Johnny Salinas, Dr. Kimberly Goddard Loeffert, Dr. Geoffrey Deibel, Dr. Jonathan Nichol, Dr. Griffin Campbell, Dr. James Laughlin, and Dr. David Dees. As an advocate of new music involving the saxophone, he has participated in a commissioning consortium for Alone Together by composer David MacDonald through Kick Starter. In 2013, Carl performed the premier of Cuento #3 by Nelson Ramirez Diaz. During summer of 2014, he recorded selections from Dr. John Walker's "The Alto Saxophone in the Attic," published by Carl Fischer. At the 10th Annual SDSU/Brookings Optimist Jazz Festival in 2015, Carl directed SDSU Jazz Ensemble I's premier of Dog, Tired by David von Kampen.

​Dr. Carl is a Conn-Selmer Endorsing Artist. He hosted the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 3 (ND, SD, NE, MN, IA) Conference at South Dakota State University on March 17-18, 2017. On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Carl performed Dreams in the Dusk by David Biedenbender with South Dakota State University's Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Jacob Wallace. On Monday, February 6, 2017, Carl will be performed the premiere of Lhotse for alto saxophone and percussion by Steve Danyew with Dr. Aaron Ragsdale.

Pianist Leanna L., 26, began her piano studies at age six and violin studies at age eight. At age 11, Ms. L. performed the Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 26 with the East West Symphony in Sydney, under the baton of Henryk Pisarek. Ms. L. has also soloed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and was invited to play at the City of Sydney Cultural Council Outstanding Performer's Concert in April 2008. She has placed in several Australian competitions and is a two-time winner of Sydney "Theme and Variations" Outstanding Pianist Award and a three-time finalist for the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performer's Award. In 2006, Ms. L. was one of three students honored by the Cultural Council at the Sydney McDonalds Arts Challenge. She made an appearance at the Sydney Opera House as a result of being awarded third place in the 2007 national Austr
alian Higher School Certificate Music Extension course. In 2008 Ms. L. won the Werner Baer Memorial Award and the audience prize in the Cochem International Piano Summer Festival in Germany. Most recently, Leanna participated at the Banff International Piano Master-Classes in Canada last year.

Ms. L. studied with Margaret Hair in Australia and has made several appearances performing in the United States, Canada, Germany, Asia and Russia. She has also performed in master classes for Marc Durand, Gary Graffman, Robert Levin, Susan Starr, Jacques Rouvier, Richard Raymond and Sarkis Baltaian. Previously, Leanna attained a Bachelor of Music at The Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, where she studied with John Perry. At The Colburn School, she was selected to be a Teaching Fellow through which she had several young private students. She was also selected as a Teaching Assistant at Boston University, where she is pursued her Masters of Music Degree at Boston University with Professor Boaz Sharon. Currently, she is studying with Professor Anton Nel at the University of Texas, Austin, as a part of her Doctorate of Musical Arts. She is working alongside Professor Gilmson as part of the Piano Project and Teaching Assistantship at the Butler School of Music.

Leanna is patient and encouraging. I am returning to playing after many years, and it is very frustrating, but Leanna is knowledgeable, inspiring, and I always leave encouraged and motivated.

Great teacher. I'm a total beginner on piano and Leanna has consistently been patient and brought me along at what feels like a very reasonable pace through the fundamentals and basic pieces. She consistently has good tips and helps me work through issues with what feel like very intuitive solutions. Would definitely recommend her to anyone else looking to pick up piano, and would have to imagine she'd be similarly excellent to students who are further along than I am.

Locally there are no quality trumpet teachers within 45 minute of our home. My son, who has played in middle school for the last two years, started lessons with Chris online 3 weeks ago. Although I was a little pessimistic on how well my son would respond, everything has been great. Chris is very good with explaining concepts and is very patient. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for online trumpet lessons.

I'm a professional percussionist, pianist, and recording artist born and raised in Woodbridge, VA. I have 15 years of professional music experience, ranging from touring/session work to marching band composition. As a drum teacher, I teach fundamental concepts like basic hand techniques, counting, introductory rudiments, and more. For more experienced players, I can teach concepts ranging from Latin groove to songwriting as a percussionist to advanced improvisational techniques. I hold the belief that a drummer must be a musician first, so music appreciation is a primary point of learning for all my students. Whether you're just picking up the sticks or you've been playing for years, I'll always be able to unearth new creative potential.

For my piano students, I again work well with students of all levels of experience. Beginners and intermediate students can expect to build a foundation of solid hand fundamentals, music reading & writing, musical comprehension, and a basic understanding of music theory. More experienced players will explore advanced musical concepts, such as composition, advanced chord structure, modal theory, and more. As with my drum students, piano students should expect a relaxed learning environment.

I currently handle a roster of 50+ students and multiple bands. When I'm not teaching, I'm playing with local Virginia outfits Roraima, Model Trains, & Walkabout. I've toured for Be Still Cody, Funeral Advantage, and Cocoba. I specialize in funk, R&B, experimental, and punk rock.

I had the opportunity to observe Jesse Harman's musicianship first hand 2 years ago. They were performing with a group in the Port Huron, a town in Michigan. Harman not only showed great professionalism in their craft but brought an amazing sense of fun and creativity while performing. Off stage, they handled their equipment very meticulously and with utmost care. To summarize what we have here, it is a devoted musician, who has not only mastered their art(and continues to develop said abilities) but as an added bonus, was a very kind individual and all around swell human being.

I haven't had the privelege of taking an official lesson from Jesse, but as their classmate and friend, I've learned a lot through osmosis. I've concluded that Jesse's talent is immeasurable, as I've seen through their many performances as a marching and concert percussionist, pianist, pop/rock/prog drummer, etc. They are not defined or confined by any particular style or genre. They do it all.
Beyond Jesse's immense talent is an even greater work ethic. They work hard to maintain and improve upon their talent, but they are also one of the most approachable and relaxed people I've met.
I've seen performances of bands Jesse has coached, and it's clear that not only are their kids technically proficient, but they have great confidence in themselves, too.
Jesse always leaves me inspired to become a become a better musician, solely through performance. I imagine the difference is that a real lesson will actually make you a better musician.
