I started teaching Piano in 2008 and have worked with over 100 students of all ages. I offer lessons from 2 studios located in Tulsa and Broken Arrow. To help students become well rounded musicians I teach from a variety of books and programs by companies like Alfred, KJOS, Hal Leonard, song books, to individual pieces from music notes. I also create, print, and email custom lessons created on a program in my Mac.
I use Yamaha and Korg digital pianos and JBL speakers.
It usually takes around 2 - 3 months for a beginner to get up to speed and start playing full songs. It's my goal to help each student become the musician they desire to be. My philosophy is to teach my students to be smart musicians. It does you no good if you can play a song but don't know what you are actually doing. So, I teach students to be smart musicians in case they decide to write their own music or join a band.
I have not won a Grammy yet, but I have had people use my bands demo music in some commercial ...

About Christian

Music is my passion. I've been playing music since I was a child but didn't get serious with it until I was 14, that's when I got my first electric guitar. So, from then on I've been playing and studying music for over 16 years. I play and teach guitar, piano, drums, and bass guitar. Aside from tak

Christian was very careful as I knew nothing about music. He explained the guitar’s basic function in language that I can understand. I am more enthusiastic about playing than I thought possible.

A great instructor. Very patient with my son who has never touched a piano before. Very knowledgeable about all types of music and different instruments. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for lessons.
Emmett S.
My son Emmett is always excited to spend time with Christian! Each lesson is well organized and they cover a lot of material focusing both on skills and fun items. Technology part of things can be challenging but Christian each weeks puts the time in to make the experience better for all of us. We are having a wonderful time and learning a lot.

With the current COVID-19 virus crisis, I have been shifting all my students to online classes. Check out my pictures to see my online classroom set up, or feel free to send me a message if you have questions! :)

I provide an all rounded, fun and enjoyable piano class for students of all ages*.

*In response to a review below that states my profile is incorrect: I mentioned to the parent in our initial encounter that I do not take in students younger than 4 for PIANO lessons. She still went ahead with booking lessons. I DO teach kids who are younger on a case by case basis (AND it has to be in-person, not online), and I have taught kids who are younger in other subjects such as mandarin or early childhood music appreciation classes. After I gave the first lesson, and it was clear the child was not ready, hence I recommended waiting a year to ensure the child has the best experience possible, and not waste either party’s time.

Ms. Tammy is an excellent teacher. She’s passionate about her profession and makes her lessons fun for my son. My son is 4 years old and is taking her class online. At first I thought he would be intimidated, but teacher Tammy did a great job and eased my son into it. My son has been inspired and enjoys the lessons. Its also built his confidence and esteem. He finds joy in playing for his classmates, friends, and family.

We're having fun learning with Ms. Tammy. Her energy, approach and enthusiasm are just right to encourage, yet challenge my kids. She listens and addresses any questions or concerns that I may have. I also appreciate that she modifies sheet music to meet individual specific needs and avoids the cookie-cutter approach. Thanks, Ms. Tammy!

When I read Tammy’s bio I was excited, however, when class began I came to a realization that her bio is inaccurate. States she works with children of all ages, that is not true. Prior to purchasing classes we’d had a conversation and had an plan for my child. Ultimately class began, what was discussed was not implemented. I would recommend a different teacher.

Music should never simply be a rote-learning process. We develop real artistry. My students learn how to interpret, transform, and create music. From the first lesson, we experiment with various musical "ingredients" and revisit these tools often as we move through a lesson series or repertoire. Students explore a variety of styles and learn to read, compose, and improvise. Students as young as five have created their own theme and variations on a favorite tune with these techniques.

About Lauren

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am excited to bring out the musician in you! At Musical Life Studio, we foster music from the beginning through the professional level. Our students include: • Children and working adults in beginning & intermediate study • Collegiate and professional music

Experienced Piano teacher since 2012: I am available to teach eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation in their piano skills. I specialize in classical, gentle, and theatrical music. I typically use the Faber Piano Adventures series for beginning and some intermediate students, however I will choose a curriculum that fits the student. I supplement the series with works by classical composers or music theme songs from TV shows, Disney movies, or Broadway shows. I also have the following tools available to use during lessons: pianos, sheet music, and more.

About Rebekah

A graduate from College of the Ozarks, Rebekah earned her Music Theory and Composition Degree in May of 2018 and her Piano Pedagogy Certificate in the Fall of 2017. Since 2012, Rebekah has taught many students of all age groups. Her favorite part about teaching students of any age, is watching

While she has high expectations for her students, she is also kind and works very well with younger students."

"Kevin is a great instructor that is very knowledgeable about music theory and he has an amazing ability to identify the proper notes you are trying to sing or play on the piano. Kevin teaches the fundamentals of music in a practical way that weeds out the complexity of music theory so that the student doesn't get lost in too much information."

"On top of being a great piano, voice, and guitar teacher, Ricardo is a brilliant musician with a varied and rich musical history. I came to Ricardo looking to improve on my classical piano skills, and ended up learning blues piano and some great techniques for learning how to play popular songs on the piano. He also helped me with voice and guitar.

I found Ricardo's lessons to be engaging, mentally stimulating, challenging, and fun. When I was playing blues piano, he would jam along with me on the guitar to help me get better at playing with others, and not just solo. He did the same thing for me when teaching me on the guitar as well, it was a blast! He pushed me to be a better musician in general - I came to him with a very narrow focus and he broadened my musical horizons. Thank you Ricardo for helping me become a better piano player, vocalist, and guitar player!"

Why Are Piano Keys Arranged That Way?

When you look at the keys on a piano, a few things pop out right away. First, there are both white and black keys, and second, there is a distinct pattern that the keys on piano repeat.
