I've been teaching bass since 2009.
Some of my favorite bassists are Flea from RHCP's, Les from Primus, Cliff Burton from Metallica, Victor Wooten, John Deacon from Queen, and many more.
I use Fender, Ibanez, Flea bass, Tech 21 SansAmp, JBL, and Ampeg.
There is not just one book that will give you everything you need so I teach from a number of books by different companies like Alfred, KJOS, Hal Leonard, song books, to individual pieces from music notes. I also create, print, and email custom lessons created on a program in my Mac.

My philosophy is to teach my students to be smart musicians. What I mean by that is, it does you no good if you can play a song but ...

I work with all students from beginner to advanced.
The goal is to have fun and play music.
The bass guitar (also called electric bass, or simply bass; /ˈbeɪs/) is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, tapping, thumping, or picking with a plectrum, often known as a pick.
The bass guitar is similar in appearance and construction to an electric guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and four to six strings or courses. The four-string bass—by far the most common—is usually tuned the same as the double bass, which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest pitched strings of a guitar (E, A, D, and G).[6] The bass guitar is a transposing instrument, as it is notated in bass clef an octave higher than it sounds (as is the double bass) to avoid excessive ledger lines. Like the electric guitar, the bass guitar is plugged into an amplifier and speaker for live performances.
Since the 1960's, the ...
