The mathematics of Music! I have a ton of experience studying music theory, I started when I was 12 when I wanted to learn how to improvise with my jazz saxophone. I was very lucky with the opportunities I had to learn music theory. I learned from two college educated jazz musicians before pursuing my own music education. While studying jazz studies and music business I studied both classical music theory and jazz theory quite extensively. Whether you want to become a composer, an improve soloist, or just improve your songwriting abilities, I can provide the knowledge and technical skill.
About Andrew
I have almost 20 years experience with saxophone. I started young and traveled as a student performing in competitions all over the country. I have done every type of music competition and studied in college where I received scholarships.

I took my first Music Theory course in high school and immediately fell in love with it. I never listened to music the same way again. Just as people who know the rules of a sport seem to have a deep connection when watching it, I feel people with an understanding of the rules of music enjoy it to a higher degree.
It all starts with an introduction to piano and learning how to read pitch and rhythm. Then a trip back in time to study early music and how it evolved into what we hear today.
About David
My name is David and I'm a professional musician who just moved to North Austin. I came from Cincinnati, where I went to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, taught dozens of students at all levels and played regular gigs every weekend. I have been teaching for over fifteen y

About Jeremy
I began playing guitar by ear around age ten. I learned rock songs from records for a few years, and then I began a more serious study of theory in high school. Over the next several years I alternated between pursuing my music degree and playing in bands around the midwest. In 2004, I transferred

Thank you Julie for instruction and the pleasure of learning. :)"

I met Dave in my music theory class at Ex'pression college. He's the reason why I'm making music today. I went from not knowing a thing about music theory or a piano to creating chord progressions, understanding modes, intervals, modal interchange, and how to read sheet music. He's extremely patient, professional, and easy to get along with. His passion for music and teaching is infectious, I highly recommend!!!"
