I have 18 years of playing experience from some of the best teachers around the country. I am certified to teach all 10 Suzuki books. I cater my teaching to each individual student and my goal is to create a fun nurturing environment.

I love playing and teaching the cello, and I'm so excited to share that with you as you learn to play the music you've been hearing in your head. I'll work with you to create a personalized study plan that is engaging, positive, and progress-oriented. My teaching style is as slow as you need, as fast as you can go. Technique should always serve the music, so we'll focus on creating art and telling the story that you want to tell.

Lessons are open to anyone; even if you don’t have a cello yet! I have worked with beginning students learning the basics of reading music, to advanced players & colleagues looking for a careful ear. For learners under 10, I recommend 30-45 minutes. For all other players, there's no time limit; I love to go into details and can work as long as you want! Learn to play the cello with excellent technique and intonation. You can learn any style, and teacher will work with you to help you learn to read music on the bass clef.

I have played in a variety of musicals and various college orchestras and chamber groups. Because of my approach to music I don't consider classical my forte but I can still teach any student cellist a great amount about beginning to advanced playing in any style - including classical.

I am also comfortable playing a variety of styles on the cello, namely jazz.

I have been studding strings from age 8, starting on violin. I switched over to cello when I turned 13 and received scholarships to potentially attend the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA. I instead studied cello at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I had the opportunity to perform in the university's symphonic orchestra and teach private lessons to college students as well. I have experience teaching from the Suzuki method, but consider myself to be a flexible educator and teach many methods according to the needs of the student.
