I am versed in Chord-melody, pick-and fingerstyle Jazz. I am comfortable teaching most contemporary styles of guitar playing, and the techniques required.

I teach the basics of learning acoustic guitar technique including: Selecting an appropriate guitar for the student, correct holding of the guitar, finger and hand placement, guitar notes and scales, guitar tablature, reading and playing guitar chords, strumming and picking, playing guitar songs from most genres and music theory. I also teach electric bass guitar and ukulele, beginner through intermediate. I teach guitar in most genres of music (except hip-hop and rap). I have been playing acoustic guitar since I was 10 years old, and have a great deal of experience in playing most genres and techniques, I am used to accompanying groups of people in different settings on the guitar. I learned to play ukulele as one of my first instruments. I learned to play electric bass guitar in stage band and in a rock group in high school. I love the guitar and it is one of my favorite instruments because of its versatility.

I do not have a degree in music. In fact, it's what separates me from most teachers -- my approach is completely different. My 15+ years of playing guitar, 20M streams of my original music online, along with all the tips n' tricks I've picked up along the way, make for a unique learning experience.

No theory. No scales. Just the goods. Are scales bad? NO! They're useful & necessary -- but the key to developing a quick passion for guitar is being able to 1. play songs you love 2. write your own material 3. be excited to pick it up and jam.

Experienced in acoustic and electric guitar playing. I have been playing for over 35 years with experience in rock, pop, funk, soul, r&b, christian music, and gospel. I played lead and rhythm guitar in church for over 15 years. My guitar lessons will help you become comfortable with chord progressions, basic rhythm techniques and basic soloing. I am very patient and have played with many amazing musicians in my years. I have played/performed with Joe Ellison from Run With Patience (Christian Artist). I played lead and rhythm guitar on a worship team led by David Cobb (Christian Artist) City Church 2011-2014, Learned "Johnnie B Good" from Billie Joe Armstrong Green Day front man in my youth with a child hood friend. Played Walnut Festival third stage at the Walnut Festival Walnut Creek 2012.

Trying to learn something from scratch can be hard, especially when it comes a musical instrument (Where do my hands go? What do these notes mean? etc..) Trust me I've been there. And that's why I'll do my best to make your or your child's introduction to the world of guitar as smooth as possible.

I specialize in classical guitar, for beginner students. I begin with basic finger-plucking patterns and finger exercises, followed by music notation and exercises from a book.
