Mary Claire has been a great help in getting me back to playing the piano after a hiatus of 50 years. She is very patient and always comes up with ways to make learning fun and challenging. She sources pieces that will challenge me and has gently brought in theory that I never learned when I was a child.

I have been taking lessons with Mary Claire for the past three years in her studio. She is absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable and an extremely good pianist and teacher. I am an adult beginner and has taught me so much. She is very patient with my music and has always given constructive input. She frames things in creative and easy to understand ways. I highly recommend.

Pascal has really helped me with the piano lessons. I spent few weeks before lockdown in 2020 with Pascal my piano teacher and I'm happy with my progress. Even though I couldn't finish my entire duration due to work, I am happy with the lessons I had before traveling. Pascal is a very intelligent piano teacher. I will recommend his service to anyone who wants to learn music the right way.

Pascal is a very good music teacher. He explains into details the basics of music and ensures his students understand one topic before he moves to another. He gives practice assignments and ensures that you do it by checking on you regularly. He is very accomodative and hence his students find no difficulty asking questions, and yes, he's got answers for every question. Your students appreciate you Pascal, keep up!

Michael is an incredible teacher. My fiance has never played a musical instrument before in his life and I got him a few lessons for his birthday. At first, I wasn't sure how virtual music lessons would go, but Michael is by all accounts, an incredibly engaging, funny, and knowledgeable instructor. My fiance looks forward to his weekly lessons with Michael. In particular, he enjoys learning about the history of this incredible instrument alongside the actual music theory and practical aspects of learning a new instrument.

It has been truly incredible to witness my fiance transform in a few short weeks from someone scared of learning a new instrument to someone who is confident that he can learn a new skill provided he puts in the time and effort to practice and show up! Michael has given him the confidence and the inspiration to make amazing progress as a student.

I highly recommend Michael as an instructor. He really makes the virtual format work and he knows how to introduce beginner musicians to the joys of learning how to express yourself on an instrument.

Whether you're interested in writing and recording your own music or if you just wanna shred, I can help achieve your musical goals. You can play your favorite songs on guitar, you can learn to improvise, you can write your own songs/lyrics, you can learn about recording and mixing in any genre, you can learn about composition and music theory, and you can mix and match all of those things together depending on your needs and interests. I offer a practical, creativity-oriented approach to overall musicianship grounded in theory and years of experience that is primarily driven by your personal artistic interests. I graduated from Berklee College of Music as a guitar student with a degree in writing and production and a focus in jazz composition and I want to share some approaches and techniques from the front lines of music education.

Max is great. My daughter is shy with performance anxiety, and he's been doing a great job melting the ice with her. She actually wants to practice her guitar, which she didn't when she had lessons prior to learning from Max. So far so great! I look forward to continuing her lessons with him. Highly recommend!

How to reach a modern audience. Scansion, the vital importance of this tedious exercise and how it can literally reveal deeper meaning. If your out there auditioning, you need at least two classical monologues of varying lengths, Shakespeare is what is usually expected and is still considered the pinnacle regarding the former and scenes as well. If you prefer a less practical approach, we can certainly attack the subject academically in the main, though academics are naturally included necessarily in the practical work as well. The bottom line is your lessons will depend on your experience, goals and abilities.

First off. Just want to say that we had to cancel our first session. However, I really like this guy because he had kept it real and set it straight on the reason why the session was cancel. He was very sick that day and he didn't want to be involved with the session not being at 100%. Respect! I wouldn't have wanted him not being at his best either. Takes alot of guts for a person to confess that. I really appreciated the honesty because that explains how passionate Randy is about the craft.
Second of all, when we did our first session, I had to deal with a rough technical patch of trying g to join in for the session. He had no problem helping me with this technical glitch rather than allowing TakeLessons (who I was unable to reach because of matainace issues), to handle it. He helped 5he TakeLessons team. A plus Randy! Though I had to finally use another device to finally join the session, Randy was still willing to have patience and help me with the tech problem.
Lastly, Randy brought a warm feeling to the session and yet sincere. He made me feel welcomed, which opened me up more during this session. This helped because I am uncomfortable with improv but want to get better. He understood this and gave a real honest approach. Also, he informed me that we were going to get a gist of my performance level and work from there. Furthermore, we were going to ease our way into improvement. This gave me alot more balance than other improv classes. He is even willing to give me a little homework that I can practice in prep for next week.
Randy is very encouraging and I enjoyed our first session. I'm exited for next week!

"Byron is an amazing teacher! Thanks to Byron, our son, who is autistic-high functioning, is learning far more than how to play the guitar. He is learning to sit in a chair for a half an hour, is learning to focus on notes and strings, and is learning to love music! It’s an amazing sight to see! We are grateful that our son, and others with special needs, can also learn to play the guitar. We appreciate Byron’s patience and fun approach. Teachers with his character and abilities are hard to find. Byron is a true blessing and gifted teacher. We highly recommend him to everyone!"

"I studied with William for just over 2 years until an out of state move brought our lessons to an end. I was gifted several lesson with William for Christmas and really only wanted to learn a very few basics that would enable me to play some basic rhythm on an old guitar I had. That changed quickly as I started my lessons with William as he opened up an entirely new musical world to me, showing me how to hear music differently than I ever had in the past. Prior to meeting and working with William I had tried teaching myself and ended up learning bad habits, form and posture and William helped me unlearn these traits which enabled me to actually learn and have fun playing guitar. I've never met a more patient person than William and would highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning how to not only play guitar but understand music. I still practice every day and his tips and instructions still guide me in my explorations. I can't thank him enough for everything he gave me . . . it truly opened up an entirely new world and approach to music for me."
