All lessons are catered to the individual's needs and goals! We can go over the very beginning steps for the first time you pick up the clarinet all the way to refining your college audition. Clarinet history and terminology will be incorporated in lessons as the student is ready for it. Music theory will be incorporated for older students as they become ready to digest it and observe the bigger picture. Composition and arranging can be part of the learning experience if students express interest.
About Heather
If you are interested in learning the clarinet, you've come to the right place! I've loved the clarinet since I first laid eyes on it and love teaching and performing. Whether you're just learning your first notes or getting ready for a solo performance, we can work together to make practicing fun

My approach to teaching involves developing a comprehensive understanding of what one is doing while playing, rather than just learning a couple of songs, or relying solely on your muscle memory, you will be able to explain what you are doing from a theoretical standpoint.
Without getting too heavy with the use of technical terms, I will teach you to see the underlying threads that apply to all styles of music and encourage you to begin making these types of connections yourself.
This is an important skill to develop early so that as you progress you can begin to teach yourself develop your own unique stylistic approaches to music!
After studying at Laguardia High school for the Performing Arts, I attended McGill University in Montreal where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano Performance.
If you study with me you will be able to expand your knowledge of:
-Music Theory
-Harmony
-Piano technique
-Ear Training
-Sight Reading
-Composition
-Improvisation

About Chris
Born and raised in downtown Manhattan, I have studied music for over 15 years now. When I was about 8 years old I started studying classical piano, and to be perfectly honest, it was like pulling teeth to get me to play. The repetitious nature of learning classical etude after etude wore down upon

We focus on playing and writing music immediately, the theory is second, music playing and having fun is first!
I'm 31 years old and I have been playing music in bands of all kinds since I was 15. I practiced 3 years before I actually played with anyone and once I did I learned so much more. I don't want you to make the same mistake, try out my 30 minute discount rate and we can make sure you are having fun and playing music in no time, if you want to expand into harder lessons then we can!
My prices are so I can give each student my undivided attention, even the 30 minute may go on longer if the student is hungry. At these prices I can support as many students that really want to learn as possible no matter what level lessons they buy. I recommend the hour as it will allow for most growth.
About Joshua
Guitar is the most amazing instrument to me. I got really lucky because someone gave me an electric when i was 12 and I just played it. I didn't even know they had to be tuned at first! Once I started playing with people I learned so much so fast. I also went to school for recording and am able

Book NowI have a unique background in that I didn't go to a typical 4 year conservatory, but I was able to procure a job with the First Violin Section of The Philadelphia Orchestra. I have a very practical teaching style that I believe is effective with every level of violinist. Many of my students have won auditors at every level from District and Youth Orchestras to full scholarships to major Conservatories to jobs with Major Symphony Orchestras!
About Richard
My name is Richard Amoroso. I am a longtime member of First Violin Section of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Even longer than that, I am a Certified Music Teacher. The road to my success is less traveled in that I didn't attend a formal Conservatory. I attended a liberal arts college and completed a B

I've been playing for about 9 years and have played in several bands. I've bee teaching for about 4 years and find its best to teach as we play rather than teach theory and then play. My personal teaching style is to show a student chords and or scales in the beginning of class, then use the rest to play around with them and then focus on the technique to play it efficiently and effectively.
About Cristopher
As a musician that has played for about a decade, I have studied and worked to become a teacher. I've played in numerous bands, have worked in studios, and have been teaching for about four years now and am always finding new ways to understand and help accomplish my students' goals. I've studied m

I have been the principal bassist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 2017. Upright bass is the instrument that I perform on professionally but I've been playing guitar for as long as I've been playing bass which is over 25 years. Most of my teaching comes from my experience as a professional upright bass player. I start my beginning students in the Hal Leonard guitar method books. These books provide a solid foundation and walk through a lot of concepts at a good pace.
About Cory
I have been the principal bassist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since 2017 and professor of double bass at Nazareth College since 2019. I grew up around Atlanta, GA and started playing piano when I was around 7 years old and bass and guitar when I was 11. Most of my education has been

I've been taking ukulele lessons with Chuck for over a year now. I am always impressed with his musical knowledge and appreciate the way he goes beyond the songs and also teachers me musical notation, chord progressions, and more. My lessons are always fun, with just the right amount of challenge to keep my skill development moving forward. Thanks, Chuck!"
