About Monique
I specialize in teaching students with autism or other similar behavioral/learning challenges. I am a Registered Behavior Tech with a graduate level degree who is currently pursuing a post graduate certificate to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I am trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapies.

I have been sharing the joy of playing guitar with others since 1983. I attended Guitar Institute of Technology from September 1984 to September 1985 and still hold the title as the youngest female graduate at the school to this day. I later earned a Masters degree in teaching and learning to enhance my skills as a teacher in music and in other areas of education; but I learned some very valuable skills in my graduate program that give me an edge over teachers without an advanced degree. I have studied how people learn,
how learning styles vary and how to identify and accommodate various learning styles in order to get the most from each individual student and teach each student in the most effective manner according to their particular learning style.

*** Lesson Details ***
While I may have formal training in teaching, my actual approach is very holistic. I like to get to know my students; I want to know about them- what kind of music they are interested in and how they learn best. Once I determine the type of learner that I am working with and what the student would like to achieve, I then use that to develop an individualized approach for that student. I believe that fundamentals are necessary and good, but I also believe that those fundamentals should be put to use in a manner that accommodates the student and their particular likes and musical goals as quickly as possible. What good are concepts without application? I want to see students playing with skill AND with joy because they are able to play what they love to listen to and even more....I like to see students create their own music with the skills that they acquire.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Student needs instrument, writing tools, paper, CD player or MP3 player.

*** Specialties ***
(Autism Spectrum Disorders
ABA trained)
I don't necessarily specialize in any particular method, especially given the fact that I am accustomed to customizing curriculum in the educational realm. I evaluate each student's individual styles, abilities and desires with regard to what they want to learn.

Monique is a great teacher

I am delighted with Monique. She is very professional and is very comfortable teaching. The lessons have just the right pace and she is good at building on fundamentals. As an adult learner, I am glad to have a mature teacher I feel comfortable with. That rapport is an important element for me as a beginning student.

Dear Parents and Students,

I teach in person, or via TakeLessons classroom, telephone, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Join.me, Appear.in, Screenhero (remote desktop, screen sharing) interactive whiteboards, as well as email attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.) I graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University, where I made the Dean's List. I am patient, friendly and many students tell me that I explain concepts more effectively than their teachers. I am available weekdays or weekends, days or nights, throughout the entire year. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding my experience and teaching methods. While it should go without saying, I have a clean background that has been verified by the FBI and BCII. Let me know if you would like to set up an introductory lesson to design a customized strategy. There is no obligation to continue unless a customer is 100% satisfied.

I am one of the Top Five Tutors for:
1. most diverse subject matter
2. widest student age range
3. farthest geographical regions
4. largest client base
5. most hours taught monthly

Please note: I have set up my billing in thirty minute increments. Thus, I am able to offer lessons of varying lengths. However, I would appreciate longer sessions. I thank you for your time and consideration and look forward to being at your service!

As you can see I’ve written a review for Matthew regarding my daughters success (her test was last year) so I’d like to write one for my son also. My son was not driving at the time and Matthew agreed to drive to our home and teach him for an additional nominal fee. My son also took multiple tutoring sessions with Matthew and learned something new every time. He felt confident going into the test, confident in his ability to complete the exam and do well on it. Matthew takes his time with each individual and works with their specific needs. My children needed help in different areas of the ACT and Matthew was more than capable of helping them in those areas. My sons ACT score also went up 4 points after working with Matthew! I can’t say enough how professional, kind and thorough he is.

From the beginning, Micah proved to be exceptional! She was the only teacher who took the time to answer my long list of questions. She was clear and honest. Classes are planned according to your specific needs. She makes you want to learn more, motivates you and guides you in the best possible way. She also has a lot of patience and knows how to explain the lessons properly. Her teaching techniques have been very useful to improve my English pronunciation and I enjoy doing homework (cause it's fun and doesn't seem like homework at all). I highly highly recommend her!

If you're looking for the perfect English teacher online, Micah is your girl!

About Dillon
Hello and welcome to my teacher profile! My name is Dillon S.

I am a music and art teacher, and I have earned my Associate's degree in Music Education at MDC with a focus on jazz guitar. I have a fairly diverse experience in different genres of music (primarily worship/church music, but also rock, pop, punk/metal, jazz and others). I have also sung and played guitar, drums, and bass in numerous bands throughout the years (currently, drummer/percussionist for The Fortune Tellers in Miami, FL).

I have always had a deep love for art, and am currently working on my Bachelor of Science in K-12 Art Education. I have a particular interest in figure drawing/portraiture (charcoal, graphite, India ink), landscape and still life painting (acrylic and oil paint), and both digital and film photography.

I am hoping to improve my teaching skill
s through this platform and impart knowledge onto others. I am laid-back and a kid at heart, and I find it important to teach with a sense of humor. For the record, I'm also a huge geek. I enjoy video games, superheroes, sci-fi, fantasy, animals (I myself have two cats), board games, cartoons/anime, technology/science... I also love traveling! If you're into something, feel free to talk to me about it, I love getting to know what you're passionate about!

Dillon is an outstanding music teacher who is very good in teaching his students multiple areas of music ( theory, rhythm, notation) in order to take their instrument playing to the next level. I have been a beginner Ukelele student of Dillon for a few months and have seen a significant advancement in my learning and skill playing of the ukelele. Overall, he is a very patient teacher who deeply understands music and takes the necessary time to work on the different areas where he sees opportunity for his students to improve their musical instruments playing.
