I have been a pianist for over 40 years. I play and teach classical, popular, and gospel music. I have been teaching piano for over twenty years. Students I have taught have gone on to become teachers themselves. With my method of teaching, the student will be able to play after the first lesson.

I also teach organ and voice, along with theory

About Udell
I have love and a great passion for music. I have been a musician for over 30 years, I have been a private instructor in piano, organ and voice for 10 years. I have trained and arranged music for several choirs and musicians. I have been music administrator for the church I attend for 12 years. I have instructed children's music classes at The Cleveland Clinic Children's Rehabilitation Hospital. I have toured with choirs, soloist, and musicians in the United States and Canada. I play for weddings and am currently on staff as a musician at a Funeral Home.

I am a graduate of Evans Academy of Music in Buffalo, New York. I have studied music at Cuyahoga Community College.

The student must be self-motivated and consistent about his lessons by, self-motivated, I mean, that if it's a child, he should be learning because he wants to learn (not his parents, etc.} There is no one answer to this question (what can students expect from my lessons) because that would depend on the students interests. Ive
studied clasical. pop. rock, classic rock, jazz and improvisation. If, for example, the student is an adult who is taking lessons because it's something he wanted to do all of his life, he'll pick a song that he likes and we can start working on it right away. If necessary, I'll transpose it to an easier key, but he won't leave my studio without knowing exactly what he needs to practice until his next lesson. I tell students (especially parents) not to push practicing. If the student isn't practicing at home, he has lost motivation. He can stop and come back when he wants to learn. I consider it m job to keep the student motivated by suppling what they ...

About Roseann
I have been teaching piano for almost 40 years. I have a NY state music teachers license, a masters in music therapy from NYU, and a bachelors in Music Education and AFFA certification.
I try to keep the student self-motivated by using music that the student likes, as well as covering the basics. I use props which can be internalized by the student and gradually removed. For example, using stick-on letter names for the notes for a beginner and then removing them one at a time when the student feels ready.
I am friendly and very easy going; I'm not a disciplinarian. If a student doesn't practice for some reason, we practice together at the next lesson. If a student doesn't want to practice at all, I can be very creative in motivating them. I don't believe in parents forcing their children to practice, because this tends to turn the child
off. Even though I tell parents that if your child doesn't want to play, please don't force it; I tend to keep students for many years (maybe it's because the student's self-motivation is so important to me and to their success).
I also have a lot of experience teaching handicapped individuals as a certified music therapist.
The music therapy has enabled me to be a better teacher in general because the therapeutic aspect comes up in all lessons, in one way or another. Music educators focus on the educational goals of music, while music therapists focus more on the therapeutic goals . A therapeutic goal might be increasing concentration span or self-confidence. These issues often need to be addressed in all lessons, and can only help the learning process.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very easy-going teacher and aim to motivate you. As a music therapist, I have much experience in making each lesson a positive learning experience for you. Most of my professional experience is in teaching piano.
Music intrigued me as a child because I saw learning to play as a great challenge. Because learning to play an instrument can be overwhelming to a student, I have learned through years of teaching to make it understandable - to break it down into steps that will leave you feeling a sense of accomplishment and thinking "I can do this".
I prefer to teach piano lessons, all styles and levels, music theory, music therapy and beginning guitar.
I also teach beginner vocal lessons, and lessons in how to keep the beat
I must add that I have a busy schedule and if a student needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, I need them to let me know at least 24 hours in advance, or the student will be charged for the lesson.
I'm an animal lover and rescued a homeless cat who lives at the studio. I keep the studio very clean, but
if you're allergic to cats, you may want to consider another teacher. Thank you

*** Studio Equipment ***
Room before living room w/ piano computer, amp seating for parents, Baldwin Professional Upright Piano.
Korg Pa3X keyboard workstation, Yamaha 88 key digital keyboard with Yamaha hammer action (meaning it feels and plays like a real piano - not mushy and easy to press like most keyboards; thereby allowing finger muscle development), Kustom amp, Yamaha 6 string guitar, Ibanez electric guitar, clarinet and a flute. I also have an enormous music library.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I play for various events with the Korg Pa3x, where a one person band is required. I also play the acoustic grand pianos in several independent livings centers in Westchester County as an entertainer or to accompany sing-a-longs.

*** Specialties ***
Classical, popular, classic rock, top 40, jazz. I teach a thorough classical approach and chord method playing for older students or others who simply want to learn to play quickly.

About Tyler
I am a very passionate music teacher, it's really who I am. I thrive off of opening the doors of music to people and teaching them a foundation upon which to grow. I graduated from UMASS Lowell with a Bachelors in Music Performance in 2014 and have 6 years of teaching experience in and around the Boston area. I play and manage a band called Skyfoot and have for about 3 years now. I have played in 35 different states, playing with all kinds of musicians across the United States. The times I spent playing and learning from the musicians at school and on the road have been some of the most insightful of my life.

Been meeting with Tyler for 4 lessons now and cannot give anything but the highest praise for him. Before we began we set the outline for what
I wanted to do and how he could help - the planning was good but the execution far exceeded anything I could hope for. His insight, technical ability, and highly positive attitude makes him the perfect partner to "re-introduce" me to the guitar (35+ year break in playing). Cons: initially opted for 1/2 hour lesson - too short. Pros: understands my goals, appreciates the musical genre that is important to me, great balance between teaching during the lesson and giving me things to work on on my own, very positive and encouraging attitude....and many more "pros". My suggestion is - if you are thinking of going with him give him a call - very easy to talk to and you will likely find out what I have found - Tyler is top notch!!

For beginning piano students, I use Marilyn Lowe's Music Moves for Piano series. If a student already has purchased piano books or has piano books from an older sibling, I would not ask the student to purchase more books until we had used what they already had to its full capacity. For adults and older beginners, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.

About Ceste
I'm a passionate, motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages. In 2003, I graduated from Bryan College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education with a vocal emphasis and in 2011, I graduated from James Madison University with a Masters of Arts degree in Music Education with a Kodaly emphasis. I have performed in the past with the Fine Arts Chorale of Kansas City, Washington Kantorei, Choralis, Arundel Vocal Arts Society, the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters, and the Three Rivers Dulcimer Society.

Ceste has a great ear and is willing to meet you wherever you are in your skill level. She cares about what kind of sound you dream of, identifies your natural strengths, and works those into realistic goals to work towards.

She practices using the Alexander Method. Her expertise in how the body affects the voice actually gave me a ton of useful information to successfully identify the cause of some chronic health/pain issues (although she never offers medical advice, I was able to integrate her feedback about what was affecting the quality of my voice into medical care with my Drs).

Thanks Ceste!

I've been teaching keyboard and music theory for almost 40 years and my students have learned to express themselves through music. My students have performed in recitals and in professional bands. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to read and play piano music and as time goes on you'll be able to improvise and compose their own music!. I specialize in jazz and pop, typically use the Faber or Bastien books for beginners and the John Thompson books for more proficient students.

About Carey
Carey has been teaching private lessons since 1976 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home, and online. Carey has helped students become proficient in different styles of music (rock, pop, jazz and classical), increased their confidence and self esteem , improved ability to improvise and achieve a greater understanding of music theory.
Carey received his training at The Ohio State University in 1976 where he received a Bachelor's degree in music theory and composition. As an expert in his field, Carey looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Carey's teaching style is patience with a good amount of humor!

Currently, I am the Entertainment Director at Blue Moon Dueling Piano Bar in West Des Moines. Libby and I also have a private entertainment company called Epic Event Entertainment that provides live music for weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, etc.

Each lesson plan is customized to cater to each student’s individual needs and goals. Howe
