Above all I want students to enjoy learning the piano. Most people start because they love a certain type of music or wish they could just sit down and enjoy playing. My goal is to make that happen. I teach all ages, beginners and intermediate levels. I think that lessons for children need alot of variety so that they can learn from games, singing, clapping, movement and playing the piano. Of course, singing, clapping, movement and playing the piano are what we all need but without the stickers at the end of your lesson!

About Nancy

Playing the piano and loving music has been at the center of my life. Aside from the happiness and fun it can bring, learning an instrument also teaches discipline and confidence which carry over into everything. I enjoy teaching both children and adults. As I teacher I am patient and encour

Brynn was such a great teacher for my daughter! She was engaging and supportive throughout the lesson. Her knowledge about music and the viola is phenomenal! My daughter is so excited to connect with Brynn for her lessons each week.
Salome
It was our first lesson and as a parent I trust Brynn to position my daughter to be a great violin player. As she instructed my child she also made sure that I understood what she was teaching so that I can assist her with practices at home. This was very forward thinking and I appreciated her sharing her knowledge with me! My daughter has a great time!

I love the viola; I'm primarily a violist and love nothing more. I would love to share my passion with you or your child!

I have a Master's degree in Viola Performance, and viola is my primary instrument. I have received extensive instruction on the minutiae of the viola, and can help you with any need that you many have!

I tailor my approach to each student. Some students require more technical work, some require interpretive. Both are fascinating and can be taught with structure and clarity.

About Martina

Hi! My name is Martina and I am a classically trained violist. For my background, I received a Master of Music from Roosevelt University, where I studied with Lawrence Neuman of the Chicago Symphony. I received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin with Sally Chisholm of the Pro

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.

I’ve had many instructors intermittently in my long life and travels. But Lenna has helped me the MOST. I’m strengthening muscles, improving muscle memory and having great fun. Lenna is helping me be super present with each sound. She is a sunbeam!

Lenna is a great cello teacher. My son has been learning cello with Lenna for about a year now. And he is more and more passionate about the instrument. Lenna is always patient, thoughtful and creative to teach kids to be more enthusiastic on music. I recommend Lenna to everyone who wants to learn cello.
Marianna
Someone I trust recommended Lenna to me for a cello teacher - I am an adult beginner and I really knew nothing at all about how to play or read music.
Lenna was the most patient, understanding and fun teacher I could have asked for. She understood what I needed and got me from barely able to hold the bow to playing Rigoletto in front of a small audience in 6 months! THAT is no small feat. She loves playing, she loves teaching and she understands the human condition. A very good combination indeed. I highly recommend you hire her as your cello teacher, or your child's cello teacher, or your next door neighbor's cello teacher.

"Troy is the best vocal instructor ever! I feel like I hit the jackpot in finding him as my coach. He is extremely knowledgeable and great at communicating concepts that might otherwise be difficult to understand. My vocal technique and confidence has improved so much since I started taking lessons from Troy in September 2014. I was so impressed with my progress with Troy that I have now expanded my lessons to twice a week. Troy is great at making a plan to help me achieve my goals, and he is right with me every step of the way. I am so grateful to have an instructor that not only helps me get better, but also has an inspiring attitude to share a love for music."

"Dave's a fantastic teacher!

I have been playing guitar for over 25 years, and I been a student of Dave's since 2008. As part of his teaching style, Dave works with his students to identify their goals and expectations for studying guitar. He uses this information to tailor lessons to the individual students based on their level of expertise. Dave incorporates his terrific knowledge of music theory into his lessons so his students learn to play guitar (e.g., the theory behind a particular music style or technique), not just how to repeat a song. Dave's instruction has helped me become a more well rounded guitar player with better practice habits focused on improving my playing. I would strongly recommend Dave for beginner, intermediate, or advanced guitar players that want to learn how to play guitar."

"Rich is top notch! My daughter has taken banjo and guitar (acoustic and electric) with him for about 6 years. She has also had several excellent teachers over the years, in piano, violin, and voice and great theory instruction in general. But when it came time for college auditions, she attributed a large part of her success in the theory portion to Rich's preparation. What's most special about Rich is that, even while he's teaching the theory, he ALWAYS keeps it fun. He's has a great formula - scales/theory, a little music history, songs/technique, fun. We'd give him 10 stars if we could."

When I came to her it was the first time I ever touched a piano so it was very challenging, but she was very accommodating to my experience level. Not only did she teach me how to play but also the theory and history of the piano. I am planning on coming back to her as soon as I can, I recommend her to anyone."

Drumstick Sizes and Types - And Why It Matters

Drummers, you've got it easy.  Grab some sticks and something to hit, and your makeshift instrument is just as good as the real thing... right?  Sure, maybe if it's just an impromptu jam session with friends.  But for proper technique and to really improve on the drums, you'll need the right equipment - which includes your drumsticks. Choosing the right drumsticks can be as selective as buying a violin bow for violinists, and you may need to test out several different types before settling …
