About Charles
I am an international recording artist and seasoned performer. I have been playing music since the early age of 8 yrs old. I have always been inspired by music and love to inspire others with music. Some of my accomplishments include putting an album out with Universal Records as a Nashville recording artist, having over 7 albums out internationally, and recording and playing with some of the biggest names in the music industry. I am a classically trained musician as well as an innovative and experienced teacher. I have been teaching for over 15 years and have seen many of my students go on to become top-notch performers themselves while pursuing successful careers in music. In addition to being a private music teacher, I have also taught at many schools in the valley including the Center for Educational Excellence School, Grand Canyon Pr
eparatory private charter school and the Arizona Music Academy. I teach all levels of guitar, bass, and drums and tailor every lesson to the individual student’s needs and personality. My annual recitals are live-performance concerts featuring bands and other performing groups formed from among my students along with solo performances. My students also perform regularly throughout the community and are successful in their musical endeavors at all ages. I teach a wide range of genres and styles from classical music, blues, jazz and rock to heavy metal with an emphasis on becoming A-Level lead guitar soloists and song writers. I teach songwriting skills, music theory, and have even helped many of my guitar students be able to sing better while learning their main instrument.

*** Lesson Details ***
I make my lessons fun and informative and have had many students stay with me for up to 7 years. No matter if you want to become a pro lead guitar player or just play to have fun I can show you how to sing and play the guitar or piano at the same time or singing songs from church as well as your favorite rock or pop songs with confidence.

About Jason
I grew up in Minnesota and started playing guitar when I was 13. Self-taught for three years, I developed a passion and love for music. Upon turning 16, I expanded my knowledge studying with a local guitarist, a musical genius in my opinion, who made a huge impact on my playing. In the fall of 2007 I relocated to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute for guitar performance. I graduated in 2009

Over the course of the last 10 years+ I've been a part of many different live performing bands and currently work with my original bands Delphian and Smoke Hollow. A full song from Smoke Hollow can be heard in the photo/video section below off of our debut album. Delphian can be seen and heard featured on screen in the major motion picture Mike Judge film “Extract”. I study, perform and have vast knowledge in the styles of blues, classica
l, country, folk, jazz, metal and rock n' roll. Everyday as I continue to grow as a teacher and musician, so does my love for the guitar. I very much enjoy sharing my knowledge and seeing each of my students progress and grow as musicians.

*** Lesson Details ***
Every lesson will be tailored exactly to what you want to learn. We can cover specific topics such as music theory, harmony and improvisation, but if you would prefer to just work on learning your favorite songs, that's precisely what we'll do. Let me know what you want to learn and it will be done. We'll monitor your progress to help reach your goals. Most importantly, we will have fun while learning!

We started off with a different drum instructor who turned out to be very unreliable. I asked take lessons to provide me with someone with good reviews. Someone who is punctual and reliable, that's when we met Jason. Jason is a super amazing instructor who has incredible patience. My son Nathan has never had any musical education before. After taking lessons with Jason for about three months he has a vast knowledge in playing drums and reading music. Jason utilizes his time very productively during lessons with no rush. He even goes to the extent to recommend and suggest products that will help Nathan improve. He is very humble, sweet and trustworthy. My family is glad that he came along. Thank you Jason from all of us.

James is a reliable instructor. He always meets at the scheduled time, and instructs with patience and persistence. Our son has been a student for 8 or 9 years now, and likes Jame's style of teaching. Our son has learned many techniques for playing drums, starting with simple beats. James is well liked and respected. For 11 years James instructed our oldest son on the drums. When the boys started showing an interest in piano, we bought a keyboard for them, and James started teaching them the basics of piano.
Currently James instructs our youngest son on drums and keyboards - rotating each week.
When our son wants to go over something he's been learning at school in his Advanced Keyboarding class, James has been a great help in this area!

Find the voice of any drum and make it sing. Students of every level benefit from rhythmic breath and speaking the words of the rhythms. Beginners will find the sounds of the drum, learn the language used to explain patterns, and quickly memorize rhythms by name. Everybody learns differently, we will write, speak, feel, or clown around until you fully grasp the rhythm. Intermediate and advanced students will benefit from a variety of techniques from around the world to employ to make even familiar patterns sound fresh.

About Peter
I am a student of various great drum teachers from many backgrounds. Experienced players enjoy jamming with me, but I have been told that I am especially gifted at helping beginners feel comfortable finding rhythms and sounds out of any instrument, including the human body. Rhythmic breathing is made simple and encouraged from the start. Tones and drum patterns can be explained verbally or written mathematically. Students remember the patterns forever, as well as gaining comfort in playing with other drummers or instruments. Odd time signatures or complicated songs can be tackled and easily learned. Use any drum or percussion instrument you have! Recordings are encouraged if you like!

Peter grew up in Chicago, raised to love soulful music. A graduate of Northwestern University's Performance Studies program with a focus on Theatre and
Media Arts, Public Speaking, and Ethnology. Designing percussion for stage and dance lead to studies and teaching of North and West African, Middle Eastern drum, Caribbean/South American and Asian drum and percussion rhythms. First hand experience has been gained by living in Morocco and South Korea for nearly a year each, studying and documenting folk music.

Drummer with nearly 20 years experience playing in rock bands as well as in worship settings. Lessons begin with a focus on fundamentals of drumming (drum set) but can expand into what the student specifically wants to learn. We will also focus on the role of the drummer within a musical group and learn how to navigate those intricacies. Beginner and intermediate students preferred but all ages are welcome, its never too late to learn how to drum!

About Joel
I have been playing the drums for nearly 20 years, in which most of my experience is hands-on, playing in contemporary church worship teams and regional Christian rock bands with occasional teaching mixed in. Personally, my favorite style of music to play is rock/alternative but I also favor acoustic/folk styles, funky grooves, Latino rhythms, and the occasional metal, blues, or jazz beats.

No matter the musical style, playing with confidence, feeling the song, and having an awareness of other musicians can escalate you from a "good" drummer to a "great!" one; and this is what I teach my students. They will learn the fundamentals of stick position, rotary movements, basic drum hits and musical notation, as well as how to play on beat (with a "click"). These skills will enable the student to learn any style of music and increase their abi
lity to play the role of the drummer in virtually any band or musical group.

For example, the bands I have played in over the years have opened for multiple National acts like Red, Disciple, Project 86, and Decyfer Down and have played festivals and tours like Cornerstone Festival, Unity Festival, and Winter Jam, opening for Mercy Me, Jars of Clay, and Hawk Nelson. I truly believe that if you know your craft and have confidence in yourself, the sky is the limit for what you can do.

Currently, I play regularly at my local church and do worship nights and events in my area. I would be honored and pleased to work with you and help you become a great drummer!

I’ve had the privilege of playing guitar, with Joel as the drummer, in various bands. Hands down the best drummer I’ve ever played with. Joel is extremely attentive to what the rest of the band is doing which is a skill that so many drummers are missing. And he’s always on with that click track! Joel could always create whatever sounding fills I asked for, and then some. But ALWAYS tasteful. A very gifted musician.

Joel is also a man of integrity and an all around fun guy! One of my best friends on this earth!

My lessons are designed to help students grow as not just drummers, but as musicians. I'm a strong believer in the development of your own personal style, and each student under my wing grows creatively in the direction of what they're most passionate about. I instill a solid foundation of technique and music theory while keeping students engaged through curriculum custom tailored to their interests, transcribe songs for my students so they can hone their abilities by learning their favorite tracks, and have extensive notes and modifications of the classic drum texts I use to make them more enriching and exciting.

About Skyler
I'm a lifelong musician with over a decade of experience on drum set and world drums, and an aspiring ethnomusicology professor specializing in African and Indian percussion. I teach drums in all styles and age groups, and have experience teaching special needs students.

My playing and teaching style comes from my mentors John Celello, who studied under Terry Bozzio, and Jonathan Hepfer, who is now a professor at Cal Arts. The curriculum is engaging, fun, and streamlined to help get my students ready to play with other musicians early on without sacrificing proper technique and musicality.

With a life goal of spreading my passion for rhythm in academia and beyond, I guide and inspire my students to develop their own personality on the instrument, creating expressive, unique musicians with a passion for their art and supreme confiden
ce in their playing.
