I took my first singing lesson over 40 years ago, so I'm very acquainted with different techniques and styles of teaching, and can say that Michelle is as good as they get:)"
Also she knows the subject very well and appeared ready to help me out because I am brand new."
My daughter has taken a keener interest in playing piano since being under Lana's tutelage (she has played for 7 years, this is her third year with Lana). Whether she's playing Beethoven, Chopin, John Legend or Joni Mitchell, Lana helps my daughter conquer her pieces with confidence and pride (once the pieces are learned).
We have had the old school, hard-core, drill sargeant type of teacher and the lackadaisical, low expectation and low output type of teacher. Lana is neither. Lana focuses on technique, reading music, musicality, presence, and instilling a love of music in her students. And she gets results. Not only has my daughter's skill level improved, her attitude toward piano has completely changed.
Any child would be lucky to have Lana as his/her teacher. We cannot recommend her highly enough!"

Singing in a “breathy voice” has a mixed reputation among singers and educators, and for good reason: it can be risky. In this article, we’ll discuss the mechanics of singing with a breathy voice, if it’s harmful, and how use to the technique safely. Remember the spectacularly cheesy film “A Walk to Remember”? In this 2002 film, Mandy Moore sings a pop ballad called “Only Hope” using excessive breathiness to create a fragile, emotionally charged aura for her character. …
