We all love the gut kicking bass that we can't help but have involuntary movement when we hear it done right. I've played bass for over 30 years in the studio and touring all over the US, Mexico, and Central America. I can teach you how to play with seemingly effortless technique, how to create unforgettable bass lines, how to improvise solos, how to slap, tap, 2 hand tap technique, and bring thunderous energy into your playing venues! I look forward to speaking with you soon

I specialize in teaching beginning piano, and the vast majority of my students are beginners. All of my piano students use the Alfred Premier Series, which has adapted versions for very young learners, older beginners, and adult learners. Students will have music theory and history incorporated into every lesson, and will usually have a homework assignment incorporating these as well. Once a student has mastered the basics, I will introduce classic literature appropriate to his or her level. I encourage all of my piano students to participate in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contest when they reach the appropriate age and skill level.

Classical guitar is my first love and what brought me into the world of music. I began teaching in 2006 and have continually sought to improve my teaching over the years. When learning classical guitar (or any instrument) there are many approaches. Ideally, I believe that it is best for students to learn all of the keys to playing (physical technique, musical understand, a sense a rhythm and collaborative abilities and much more) before they jump into learning lots of pieces.
...But let's be honest, most of us don't have the patience for that. I know I don't. I want to make sure that you get all of the key elements to play the way that you want, but I know that you want to learn guitar because of the music! So even if you've never played an instrument before, it's my goal to have you playing music in the first lesson. From that point, we'll learn more pieces, and we'll continually add new musical elements so that you get an understand of not just how to put your fingers on the ...

Kelvin is not only an amazing, kind-hearted, smart and trustworthy person but he is also one of the best musicians I have seen around the Chicago area. I have been in the music business for most of my life having taken many violin and piano lessons from different people and Kelvin has to be the most patient musician I have collaborated with yet. I recommend Kelvin to anyone looking to learn to play music - young - and - old. He is extremely passionate about music and continuously never fails to inspire me."
