Painting is about so much more than applying pigment and oil or water. I can teach how to see, how to understand color theory/relationships in the context of paint, and eventually, how to develop, understand, indulge, and challenge your own tendencies as a visual maker.

Since I have actually set up a separate subject for painting with oils, these prices will be applicable to painting with acrylics/watercolor. Not that I would be excluding pertinent information in one of these classes versus an oil painting class (priced slightly higher), but because teaching painting generally starts with a water-based medium. It tends to be less messy, both literally and figuratively. :) Basically, in these classes, I would teach about basic tenets of learning to paint. In terms of technical specifics we won't actually work with oils, but I am glad to talk about them and how they contrast water-based paints. I suppose that is my hesitation for labeling this as acrylic-specific. I am happy to talk ...

You you want to to learn how to play French Horn at a high level from the basic of the basics to advanced college and professional-level repertoire, you have come to the right place! I have been playing French Horn for 20 years and have earned many accolades and awards including placing in the Texas All-State Band, playing with two well-known youth orchestras, and receiving generous scholarships and grants in college that allowed me to attend school FOR FREE! Since college, I have taught consistently for 7 years and have seen wonderful results from my studio. My students feel confident in their abilities, grow at an accelerated rate, and become self-sufficient, self-motivated practicing musicians who are not afraid to strike out on their own.

Are you a brand new beginner who has no clue where to start? Are you someone with a little experience that still needs some guidance? Or maybe are you an advanced player who is not being sufficiently challenged and needs some "oomph!" in ...

Hello! I’m Sama, a certified English language instructor and the founder of In English With Love. I help professionals get the fluency and confidence they need in English to build a life richer in opportunities.

I've been helping professionals whose first language is not English for over ten years. From my experience, I know that the problem at this point is that your English is affecting your job prospects. You are an expert in your field and you express yourself well in your native language, but you feel limited when communicating in English.

You may feel frustrated because you can’t demonstrate your expertise when speaking in English. You may stay quiet in meetings or in conversations because you spend a lot of time thinking about what to say, even when you have great ideas and valuable feedback. You might feel unsure when writing emails, because you worry that there may be mistakes, or that your emails sound unprofessional.

What scares you most is that you know, if you don’t ...

The technique is still from a classical background so all my students learn a variety of tools that will help them with this style as well as others. Just wanted to update my review after taking a few lessons with Kristin. In addition to providing great yoga instruction, she's also been sharing these incredible explanations of how my body works (or isn't working right) that clearly come from a deep understanding of science and the structure of the human body. It is amazing to be able to both connect with the body and to understand how it works physiologically at the same time!

Guitar is one of the most enjoyable instruments to play. At least I think so! Join me as I teach you the fundamentals of guitar in a creative, student-customized way. Whether you're just starting out or have been playing for years, I'd love to help you get the next level. My specialty is teaching classical guitar. It's my firm belief that learning classical guitar will make you better at playing any and every other style of guitar. But that doesn't mean we will only focus on classical music. I'll tailor lessons to your interests as well. If you like blues, we'll learn tools to improvise up and down the neck. If you like pop, we'll learn chords and finger picking. And the list goes on and on. Most of all, my goal is to show you how fun playing guitar and making music can be. I've sure enjoyed it!!

About Andrew

I've been playing guitar for 15 years and have gained so much joy from it. I loved it so much, I got a degree in classical guitar performance. When I'm not playing or teaching, you can find me spending time with my wife, playing with my dog, or composing and recording music. I look forward to gettin

"I am an adult student (33) taking beginner drawing lessons with Jessica. My interest/goal is to draw realistic portraits (maybe in a few years), but with no background, I'd better start from the basics, and I am so glad to have Jessica as my teacher. Her philosophy about how to approach art alone is already teaching me so much - for example, what's the correct mindset, how to really observe a subject, how to practice drawing even when I am not drawing.

We have been working on building up foundational skills and their sequence, which gives me clear understanding on what each small step means in the long term. Based on my interest and what I knew and didn’t know, Jessica would design each lesson with a specific focus in mind, usually around practicing a certain technique. Her homework (I ask for homework since I draw slowly) also reinforces those learnings. I feel more confident with each lesson, and my progress is noticeable.

Also, she is incredibly encouraging, patient, and generous. I never feel judged or self-conscious practicing techniques in front of her (often clumsily) or showing her my new drawings. She always gives thorough feedback and encouraging words. Overall, she gives me confidence on my journey, and that is much needed for an adult student who didn’t have the chance to start when younger. Best teacher ever!"

He knows tips and tricks that make the process much easier than most beginners make it on themselves. He alone won't make you a great artist but he makes it so you want to practice and that's what will make you better. By far the best money I have ever spent on Takelessons.com."
