Students who study with me can expect for their guitar, drum kit, percussion, or piano lessons to be top-quality, personalized, and above all, extremely fun sessions that will cater to the students musical backgrounds, interests, and needs. I create extremely organized and specifically focused lessons so that students feel comfortable, not pressured, while learning their craft. The lessons I teach are a combination of developmental sight reading music, learning student chosen songs (depending on ability), inspiring and encouraging creative abilities, warm-up and strengthening exercises, proper techniques, listening for internal hearing, composition dynamics, chords, finger-picking (guitar only) and rudiments (drum kit only).
After 3 months of lessons together, students will have started learning several key elements to becoming an outstanding guitarist/drummer/percussionist/pianist. They will have learned proper form and technique, warm-up/skill-building exercises, to read basic notation, and basic rhythms/rudiments. Guitar/Piano students will be able to play at least one song utilizing both finger picking and chords. For drum kit/percussion, students should have no problem reading basic drum beats and being able to play through a simple song. With proper, steady practice, most students will achieve much more. I also focus on creative thinking, professionalism, and instrument tuning. Finally, the students will have started to develop a solid level of discipline that is required of any aspiring human being! Remember, "practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent."
*** Studio Equipment ***
Ludwig Accent Drum Kit, Tama Rock Star Drum Kit, Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Casio CTK-800, LP Assorted Percussions, Protools LE, Logic Pro, Korg Electribe, Reason 3.0, Ion Electronic Drum Set, Chord Charts.
*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide drum sticks, guitar, keyboards, percussion instruments, and all developmental material for students to retain and practice.
I expect my students to be providing the necessary musical equipment as well (guitars, drum kits, percussion instruments, piano/keyboard) for their private lessons. If they do not have these in the home to practice with, the lessons are much less effective for your student.
*** Specialties ***
I specialize in the following styles of playing:
Rock, Hip - Hop, All Latin, Jazz, Funk, Blues, R and B, Gospel, and Dance. I also have a very good feel for World Music as well. I have a very free-spirit for playing, so I often mesh the above stated styles into a more progressive style of playing. I believe that you must be feeling what you are playing.
I also specialize in beat programming/sequencing, recording, organizing song-writing/song-structure, musical score, live performance, and professional music marketing. I am able to show you how to use programs such as Reason, Logic Pro, Protools LE, and Adobe programs to take your creative abilities to the next level.
I believe that these days, it is imperative for musicians to have four major components in their professional arsenal: 1) Discipline and chops on your instruments (including reading music notation); 2) Know how to successfully market yourself and your music; 3) Know how to properly develop a learning ear to record/produce your songs/tracks as well as for others; and 4) Understand and effectively utilize music production programs.
I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your musical desires. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a music-filled day.

I have been teaching drums since 2003, and I start my students using The Drumset Musician, by Rick Mattingly and Rod Morgenstein. I also choose materials, from my extensive library, to address the needs of each individual. I am familiar with rock, country, blues, jazz, and world grooves, as well as marching band and orchestra. I teach the components of and purposes of voices within the set, proper grip, reading music, coordination, and feel. I also teach students how to analyze and map songs, so they can excel in a band setting. If a student is wanting to be in marching and symphonic bands, I can prepare them for those pursuits, as well. I have two sets in my studio, as well as abundant hand and auxiliary percussion instruments.

What a lucky draw it turned out to be. Tracy is a real pro, with a great personality. It took my son less than a few minutes before he was comfortable, having fun, and learning new things (he has 1 year experience).
I’ve been a part time musician for over 40 years, and I can tell you when I meet someone that is a true professional musician and the right person to teach my son. That is this exceptional woman.

I'm a devoted drummer, I study and teach a specific method called the Murray Spivach method that I learned from Chad Wackerman(Frank Zappa). I also studied with Dr. Scott Robinson and couple other teachers. I've spent hours and hours studying technique, coordination, feel and worked on countless exercises (which I will provide for you also). I am completely in love with this instrument. I will teach all students without discrimination, I only need the student to be passionate to learn, and dedicated to practice depending on what goals you like to achieve. If you are looking to learn the drums seriously, I'm the right guy for you.

I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher. I help my students achieve their musical goals as they build vital skills like focus and persistence. I find teaching incredibly rewarding because I get to help my students grow as musicians and as people. If you want to join a band, play in your local church, or even just learn songs by your favorite artists, I’d love to help! I teach children ages four and up (or younger, if a parent is present) and adults. I welcome complete beginners, advanced players, and everyone in between. You don’t need a drum set to start lessons, and you don’t even need a pair of sticks for your first one! Any student with enthusiasm and commitment can learn.
About Jack
I started playing drums when I was nine. I began playing professionally when I was 16, and I taught my first students shortly after that. When I was in high school, I had the privilege of playing at the Peaks Jazz Festival with some amazing guest performers, including Grammy-winning artists like Eric Marienthal, Dave Weckl, Ed Calle, and Randy Brecker. I’ve studied drums formally nearly since I began playing, and have had several wonderful teachers. I’ve combined what I felt were the most positive aspects of my their teaching to form my own teaching approach. Teaching has given me
I graduated cum laude from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music after studying drum set performance, composition, and music production. While still in college, I formed a jazz trio and started writing original music for us to play. I still perform with this group on a regular basis. I also perform frequently as a sideman in other people’s groups in various genres. I’ve also been fortunate enough to perform at the Kennedy Center and at the Umbria Jazz Festival. In addition to drumming, I also play the piano, write commercial music, and produce electronic music.
Like I mentioned before, I’m a human first! Outside of music, I enjoy baking, biking, traveling, and improvisatory acting. I love cookies and puns. If you have any questions about me, feel free to email me at ask by clicking "Ask a Question." Now, enough about me, I’m looking forward to learning about you!

I've been drumming for 27 years and have played with numerous Grammy winning and Platinum selling National Touring and Recording Artists like Paramore, Florida Georgia Line, Godsmack, Incubus, Buckcherry, McKenna Faith, Breaking Benjamin, Eli Young Band and more.
As a student, you will have hands on dedicated personal and focused lessons. My personal music taste includes Hard Rock, Pop and Country music.
About Thomas
Drum students can expect to have fun first and foremost! You can expect to improve week to week in basic rudimentary knowledge, terms and technique. Most drummers hate rudiments! Depending on their teacher...they are boring and challenging to learn (but that's where all those great chops you want to learn come from!) I teach students to relax, not stress and understand that drumming and learning is a journey. It takes time to unlock their own individual sound and style on the drums and play with confidence, dynamics and expression.

As a professional drummer I frequently take trips to Nashville for performances, recording and meetings. In my experience so far, I have played with well-known artists like RONIN, Paramore, Florida Georgia Line, Godsmack, Buckcherry, Incubus, Eli Young Band, Trapt, Saving Abel and more. I have even written and co-written various songs for artists as well.
My personal passion is Hard Rock, Metal, Pop and Country but I firmly believe that great technique and basics of drumming are essential to any and every style you play. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to accomplish your goals of become a better musician!
