About Megan
At the age of 4 I began producing musicals in my basement with my sister. This progressed to acting classes, piano lessons, and eventually the school musical in sixth grade. I began taking voice lessons when I was in eighth grade and have never looked back. Through high school, I focused on both classical and musical theatre genres, having leads in high school and community musicals and operettas. While attending the University of Delaware for my Bachelor of Music, I majored in Applied Music: Voice and had the privilege of performing lead roles in Sweeney Todd, The Pirates of Penzance, The Marriage of Figaro, and Die Fledermaus. In addition, I performed two recitals. I was also fortunate enough to be a member of the University of Delaware Chorale, traveling to both China and Spain for tours and competitions. I then attended UD for my Mast
er of Music in Vocal Performance where I maintained a full studio of undergraduate voice minors as a Graduate Teaching assistant.

I took my first pedagogy class at UD and began teaching voice lessons at the Community Music School during my junior year. My experience as a teaching assistant shaped me into the teacher that I am today. I love teaching and helping students reach goals! With my thorough pedagogical training and varied performance experience, I have a great deal to offer my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
During my time with you, I strive to assist you in taking risks, discovering the joy of music, and making progress with your singing. No matter what your goals are - All-State Choir, opera, musical theatre, or just having fun, I love helping you reach them. By looking at different genres of vocal music, we will focus on many different aspects of singing, from music theory, to expressive performance, to the foundation of healthy singing.

I believe that every student is unique and learns in his or her own way. Therefore, I tailor the pace and focus of lessons on your interests and abilities. I believe it is integral for all students to have an understanding of music theory and therefore, work on theory and sight-reading. In addition, I think a well-rounded musical education is key, and will work on an array of genres with you including folk songs, art songs, and musical theatre. We will work on 2-5 songs at once, and will consider a song "learned" once you can perform a song from memory.

Words are what separate the voice from any other instrument. Therefore, I will work with you on ways to examine the poetry and lyrics of each song in order to portray the message of the words.

*** Specialties ***
I feel equally at home working on musical theatre and classical styles with students. I have experience working on both with students.

Megan was the best voice teacher I've had. She was very personable and friendly and more importantly, she was very supportive of my goals. She really emphasized bringing out the 'free' voice as opposed to just molding it towards a particular style, which helped boost my confidence. Highly recommended!

Meg creates a very welcoming and nurturing environment where students feel safe to grow and learn.

Meg is a wonderful teacher who I would recommend to anybody. One of the things I loved about her was how patient she was with me, even when I became frustrated with myself. She creates an open and warm environment where I felt free to make mistakes and explore my voice, but would always have learned something new at the end of each lesson.

About DCypher
My name is Aubree aka DCypher M. I'm a versatile musician that loves to teach. I am familiar with many different aspects of music including studio recording, live performance, and teaching. I have experience teach different age levels and my goal is to get my students to stop taking lessons as soon as possible. I don't believe music is learned through lessons, it is learned through experience. I do, however, recognize some have more experience than others so it is my goal while I have a student to allow them to experience as much music as possible.

My 11 year-old son really loves his guitar lessons with Gerald. Gerald is understanding and patient, and he makes learning guitar interesting and fun for kids, with a thoughtful combination of classical and rock & roll material. He's serious with his students when warranted, and playful and funny when it makes sense to be. When I told my son that I was writing this review, he got excited and asked me to write, "Gerald's the best!" I do believe he's right:)

About Lisa C.
After playing the violin for over 20 years, Lisa was inspired to share the gift of music with others by her teacher, Susanna Sonnenberg. Lisa is a member of the American String Teacher’s Association, and has attended the 2017 ASTA National Conference. She currently performs with the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra. Lisa has played in recitals, the Chartiers Valley High School Orchestra, and was accepted to the 2006 PMEA District Orchestra. She has studied with Larry Weiss, Linda Andersen, and others. Lisa can’t remember a time before she learned how to play the violin; it has brought her great joy. Her favorite piece to play is the Bach Double Concerto in D Minor.

At 8 years old, Lisa fell in love with the violin. Throughout school, she studied with private teachers and played with the school orchestra. At home, her dogs were a great audie
nce.

Lisa went on to study history at the University of Pittsburgh, and later earned her law degree from Duquesne. She never forgot her violin, though, and continued to play in her spare time.

Music adds beauty to the world, and finally, after years of keeping the violin to herself, Lisa decided to share her playing with others. Lisa teaches traditional, classical method. The method books she uses include: Essential Elements for Strings, Samuel Applebaum, and All for Strings, among others. She supplements the technical exercises with repertoire from the Suzuki series. Lisa enjoys playing all types of music, in addition to classical, and teaches these songs, as well. Additional music includes pop artists like Taylor Swift, classic rock, electronic music like Lindsey Stirling, celtic, folk, and just about any other type of music you can think of. As a teacher, Lisa strives to be positive and encouraging. She believes that music should be fun, so her main goal is to make sure her students are having a good time!

I absolutely love Lisa's teaching style! She made me feel comfortable in the class even though I was dreading being on a web cam. I'm very sensitive to criticism as I take it to heart but Lisa was kind, knowledgeable, and personable. I couldn't recommend a better teacher for the violin. I've wanted to play all of my life and I look forward to learning more with Lisa.

About Xavier
I am a professional pianist, vocal coach and organist. I am originally from Puerto Rico, were I got my Bachelors in Music Performance with a specialization in piano from the Conservatory of Music in P.R. and have two Masters of Music from Eastern Michigan University, in Piano Perfomance, and The University of Michigan, in Collaborative Piano.

My philosophy has always been to ask the student what he/she wants to accomplish with their piano studies and then come up with a plan to accomplish this. Pair that with my teachings of proper technique and becoming a well rounded musician which includes: sheet music reading, music theory, sight reading, ear training and playing from the heart and you have the perfect formula for success. But the secret ingredient is always the effort that you put in to get better, without that you will not get be
tter.

As a pianist I do a lot of freelance work with singers and instrumentalists. Working with them for their concerts/recitals, competitions and recordings. I work also with middle/high school students as the choir accompanist for the Bowling Green City Schools in Ohio. I perform my organist duties at Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania, OH.

I have a small private studio that I teach from home and looking to expand it with online lessons and with you. I look forward to working with you and helping you accomplish your musical goals whether that is in classical or any other genre, I am here for you.

The trumpet is one of the most brilliant, pure, and emotive sounds of all instruments. Because its sound is produced by a physical vibration of your body, everyone will have a sound unique to themselves. It's why I fell in love with it.

Unfortunately, the trumpet is hard! I want to be your guide as you work to discover your individual sound and voice. My students can expect rigorous fundamental work to help them overcome the physical limitations of the trumpet and open up a world of music.
