As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. This yearly student recital gives students the opportunity to perform in one of New York City’s most sought after recital Halls located in midtown Manhattan. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and competitions.
I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

I welcome students of all ages and work hard to make music accessible for everyone.

-Young kids in voice can expect their lessons to be fun and educational including using visual tools like scarves and shakers, and imaginative play to learn vocal techniques needed to sing on pitch and with proper breathe control.

-Children in piano lessons will learn music theory and piano technique through simple songwriting exercises, theory games, visual tools and more. They will learn about composer's lives and musical styles, providing them with a well-rounded lesson experience.

-Older children and adult singers can expect to learn about their vocal anatomy in order to better control of their voice and become independent during practice sessions at home. They will learn how to improve breathe control, posture and diction. Time during lessons will also be dedicated to developing stage presence and discussing vocal health. Singers will be allowed to select repertoire from the genre of their choice. They can also learn how to harmonize and sight-sing in lessons if they would like.

-I teach beginning guitar students and help them learn how to play with proper technique and accompany themselves when singing. These students learn to read staff and tab and shape different chords on the guitar. I use theory games and visual tools for kids to make lessons fun

-Music theory/composition students will be taught how to read and write music. Students will be invited to improvise on the piano and record their improvisations.They will be taught how to sight-sing in order to learn how to notate any melodies in their head
They will learn how music has changed and been influenced throughout history. They will learn how to read lead sheets and use stylistic invariants in their playing. They will be provided with honest feedback and constructive help on their compositions.They will learn how the human brain processes music and how best to capitalize upon this process for the greatest audience appeal.

About me!

I am a Westminster Choir College '11 Alum  who graduated with a Bachelor's of Arts in Music, summa cum laude. I also have my master's degree in music therapy from Drexel University. I am also a Member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and a  Board Certified Music Therapist. During my time at school I performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kimmel Center, and did music therapy work with older adults, as well as disadvantaged children and parents.

I also have my own parent/child music class I host every Thursday September-May. It's never to early to start a music education!

I have been teaching for over four years and now have a studio of more than 70 happy students. Teaching music is my passion, and I love seeing students grow!

I often draw upon my experience from my master's degree in music therapy, which taught me that music can have a profound effect on the human brain and upon cognitive development.  My skills as a music therapist allow me to better understand a student's cognitive strengths and areas for improvement, and to develop individualized teaching strategies which utilize student strengths.

Great teacher. Much better than my theory teachers at Kennesaw State. If it wasn't for Maria I would have never gotten an A or even passed Music Theory or Aural Skills. I plan to start working with her in the fall to help me test out of Group Piano.

Our child has done so well with Ms. Maria. Lauren has just completed Level 5 of the ABRSM exams this past spring and did fantastic. This is our 5th year with Ms. Maria and we know we made the right choice by switching studios. Lauren is happy and progressing much farther than others in her previous studio. Highly recommend.

Broadway music is a joy to teach and sing because you have a lot of back story into your character and situation from the show. Because it is in English, it is easy to relate to. It also needs to be over emotional to be read by the audience.

Our first experience with Betsy was fabulous! She was very knowledgeable and she helped explain her process very clearly. Afterwards, our daughter felt she'd learned a great deal in the short 45 minutes. We look forward to more lessons and more opportunities to learn and grow. I had tried to take lessons years ago, but was really disappointed in the teacher for not doing much more than having me warm up, then sing a song over and over, then trying to encourage me to go out and sing karaoke as homework between lessons. Betsy understood my goals. She gave me vocal exercises to do as homework and explained WHY I would want to do these exercises. She is able to teach a range of styles, and was very informative when I had questions.
I would have given her 5 stars except that I need to work on confidence before letting other people hear me sing. The reason I wanted a local instead of online teacher was so that I would be out of my house so my own family couldn't even hear me. However, her family was home and sitting in the next room. This made it difficult for me to sing as loud as I needed to for hitting the high notes until well into the lesson when she was able to tell me that my pitch match was good.

Hi! I'm Leandra :)

I'm from Long Island NY, and I've been singing since the age of 3. I started singing in the choir at my church and after that I fell in love with music.

I started taking private voice lessons at 11 years old and I earned many honors and achievements for my singing. I went on to study at the Long Island High School for the Arts , then went to Berklee College of Music where I studied vocal performance. During my lessons I teach my students how to sing using breath support/control and be confident performers.

I started teaching music in 2010 and have loved it ever since. I have a kind and understanding approach when it comes to my way of teaching.

I take great care in each student I have. Making sure they have the best audition material! Broadway is very detailed. Not only do you sing, but dance and act as well! I include all of this in our lessons, but the primary focus is singing and truly using material that is appropriate for you and your performance. Keith is fantastic! He expects the highest level of preparation and performance from me at all my lessons and thus pushes me to be a better performer every time. He tailors my lessons to exactly what I need - specific work for upcoming auditions as well as more general work to expand my repertoire. His lessons are also not not limited singing coaching - he also provides coaching in acting and movement. Keith is a knowledgeable and great teacher. He will let you feel comfortable at singing and doing all the practices and make you realize what the correct postures and things needed to make you feel confident. Also, he is pretty easy-going with scheduling and just let him know in advance and he will reschedule the class for you. Definitely recommended.

About Andrew
I am a professionally trained vocalist and have been singing for over 15 years. I attended school at Brigham Young University studying vocal music and music education. I am currently working as the Choral Director at Herriman High School and have previously taught private lessons and taught as the Music Teacher at Utah International Charter School.

I studied primarily classical voice but that created a strong foundation to sing all genres of music including pop, broadway, etc. I have performed in many musical theatre productions and operas as well as performed as a soloist for a variety of occasions. I also currently sing with Cantorum Chamber Singers, a group that performs a wide variety of music for many diverse audiences.

I have a strong foundation of music theory and music composition and can help fortify that area of music as w
ell as you ear training and sight reading on any instrument. I have arranged and composed many pieces both for soloist and choral groups.

I am a energetic instructor and will do everything I can to help you improve in the areas that you would like and make sure that you achieve your musical goals.

I am a musician, but have never been able to sing. I took basic voice lessons from Andrew for several months and would have continued except for a move. He helped me gain confidence in my singing voice and strengthen it by vocal exercises. He creates a comfortable atmosphere.

I've been a professional musician most of my life, playing keyboards and singing for many Michigan bands. I have been teaching voice, piano and recording at the Detroit School of Rock and Pop for the last 7 years. During that time I helped a number of students through their college auditions which led to their acceptance at schools like Belmont and NYU. I was the Instructor for a recording/production class using Pro Tools and Logic with a focus on arrangement & composition. I also co-authored the soon-to-be published vocal book Sing For Your Life, about using good technique to keep your voice healthy for a lifetime.

Ron is an excellent piano instructor! He communicates in a way that opens my mind to learning and reading the piano in a simpler and more efficient manner. He has helped me learn basic techniques of chord structure and finger positions then transcends those methods to fit the current trends in pop music today. He is very patient and also has a great sense of humor, so I would recommend Ron to any student who is interested in learning to play the piano!
