It is my grasp of foreign languages that makes me an effective English teacher. For instance, learning the complex grammar of Latin and Greek gave me a thorough understanding of English grammar and the ability to relate to other people’s native languages. I have spent many hours proofreading papers for international students. They find my instruction especially informative because I not only fix mistakes but provide an explanation. When I point out the patterns of grammar, similar mistakes show up less and less, and my students feel more confident that they are writing sentences correctly.

I learned English teaching methods through my tutoring experience. Over a span of four months, I gave a Turkish visiting scholar a systematic overview of English grammar and allowed him to apply it through conversation.

Welcome to my studio, where I will instruct you in your musical and academic endeavors. What sets me apart is that I offer diverse instruction in two different areas. In my music studio, I give lessons in piano, violin, guitar, and composition. In my tutoring center, I specialize in Latin (learning from scratch and tutoring). I instruct students of all ages at different skill levels.

My in-studio lessons are given on a grand piano.

Accomplishments

As a high school senior, under the tutelage of OSU Profess
or Emeritus and world-renowned pianist George Haddad, I performed the first movement of Shostakovich's Second Piano Concerto with the chamber orchestra.

I performed different self-composed pieces at seven OSU Composers' Workshops and won the Audience Favorite Award at the Johnstone Woodwinds Composition Competition in 2012. My Senior Composition Recital was performed on October 25, 2012. It showcased several of my three-movement works: string quartet, clarinet solo, set of classical songs for piano and voice, set of pop songs for piano and voice. Interspersed with these were two solo piano pieces and a duet for piano and violin.

My background makes me a knowledgeable and effective tutor. I was valedictorian at Delaware Hayes High School in 2009 and received OSU's Maximus Scholarship based on my ACT and SAT scores.

Ben was patient, kind and full of knowledge. He was great at noticing her hand placement and would make visual corrections as well as show her examples of where she should be. For our first online lesson, I was very impressed. We still need to learn more about the technical aspects of being online (example: where to move the output video placement) but I think that just adds to the fun and experience of the whole process.

Tom has been teaching private lessons since 2006 and is currently available to teach lessons online. Foremost, Tom provides expertise, experience, and encouragement.

Tom received his training at Boston University in 1998 where he received a degree in Finance and International Relations. Then going on to receive a degree in English Literature. ESL/ELL STUDENTS

Teaching non-English speaking students the basic AND advanced fundamentals of English. The seven parts of speech taught are nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and int
erjections.

Tom works at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels as an adult education instructor providing English instruction to classes or individual students.

As an ESL teacher, developing a curriculum he takes an overall approach to English study that focuses on a specific aspect of language use, such as life skills, literacy, or vocational and workplace English competencies. Both approaches involve teaching his students basic English skills, such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.

The Pedagogical Foundations Of EnglishCentral

As of now I can say I like this program. Takelessons has a good communication with me through email. I really like my teacher. She has a great humor and I like the way she explains everything to me. She is really helpful to me. I have only been with this program for a month and I have no complains.

I look at the context of each student. What kind of English is going to be useful and valuable for this particular student? Every student has different goals, and because of this the content of each lesson will vary depending on the student. However, I will use the same approach to English teaching with each student: which is full immersion into English, and learning the different core skills and vocabulary in context of real-life materials and situations.
