My major instrument in college was clarinet, but I am a woodwind specialist, having performance experience on flute, clarinet, and saxophone. I have a particular affinity for late beginners, and have had some success in helping these students catch up to their peers. All of my woodwind students use the Rubank method books in addition to any method books they may already be using in their band classes. I also introduce appropriate literature and studies specific to each instrument once the basics have been mastered. I encourage all of my woodwind students to participate in OMEA Solo and Ensemble contest and to audition for OMEA District and State Honor Bands.

If you think vocal training is expensive, try singing without any vocal training... Technique is the key to good singing and if you have proper singing technique your singing voice only gets better as you age, it doesn't deteriorate. I've been a professional singer/musician for over 30 years in the studio and touring all over the US, Mexico, and Central America. I can teach you how to sing with seemingly effortless technique, how to sing from your hear in the style/s you love, how to improvise, and bring thunderous energy into your playing venues! I look forward to speaking with you soon

Shon is very accommodating to helping you learn at your own pace. He is very patient, encouraging and insightful. Shon is very relaxed which helps me feel comfortable and not feel pressured. He gives reassurance all the time that the "growing pains" of learning guitar are normal things everyone fights through. I would highly recommend him.

My promise to students--if they follow my advice, they will be successful! Cello lessons with me are informative, productive, and geared toward empowering the student's knowledge of the cello. This software has been the heart of what I do for the past 20+ years! I have created curricula at FOUR famous schools in Los Angeles centered around Pro Tools... and it is my platform of choice in which to compose because it is so easy and fast. I can show you, from experience, the real do's and don'ts of using this software from ground up. I have learned what works and what doesn't and am passionate about sharing my wisdom with you so you don't have to waste your time or get frustrated. Instead, GET INSPIRED to ask yourself not "How do I do this?" but rather: "What do I want to do with it?" I can get you to that level in a minimal amount of time.

Learning music should be fun and engaging! My style of teaching helps my students learn the songs they want to learn once they have understood a certain level of music theory. Students are motivated to learn through instruction that they can understand, so I work with both children and adults to find their preferred learning style. So when students enjoy learning, practicing comes naturally and the music becomes a fulfilling experience for both the teacher and the student!

She is patient and consistent and those qualities have allowed my daughter to find her voice and flourish. "Grew up singing and didn't keep up in college. Decided to find a voice teacher to help me get back into healthy vocal practices and work on creating a vocal sound more specific to my ideal genres. Benjamin has been an extremely effective teacher for me and quickly identified some of the more vital pain points in how I typically sing. This being particularly relieving as I have had many voice coaches in the past, but none were able to identify these issues and I have experienced dramatic improvements ever since. If you are someone who prefers more technical or more casual styles of learning, I have found that Benjamin is comfortable communicating concepts in both styles of teaching and adjusts as necessary. He is also extremely responsive to the aims of his students and actively contextualizes the work to those aims. Very diligent regarding practical matters; easy to work around personal schedules and is active in confirming/scheduling lessons with students. Would recommend him to students of all styles & experiences."
