Are you interested in being able to confidently play lead and rhythm parts in a band? Want to learn to write songs? Want to learn to just strum along to your favorite records by yourself?

I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument within the context of a relaxed and patient environment that promotes a love of music!

I achieve this by:

Having not had a guitar lesson in almost 50 years, Chris made it easy to talk bout my goals, and immediately show me some techniques and licks that will be helpful. Also really appreciate the recorded video of the lesson and extra materials he sent as follow up.

Chris took the time to find out my goals and where I was at as far as skill level, then tailored the lessons to be fun yet challenging. Looking forward to more lessons.

Outstanding teacher. I have had literally 20 teachers in my 40 years of on and off guitar playing and Chris is by far the best. He works to you and your capabilities and not to his pre-planned lessons. You feel no guilt and want to learn and push yourself more. I have progressed more with him than any instructor so far. Hire him!

Jake is such a good instructor! He's not just teaching me how to play individual songs, he's getting into the fundamentals of music theory and how music *works*. I learned more in one lesson than I learned in six months trying to figure it out on my own. He's good at finding fun songs at my skill level that push me through to the next level. I look forward to these lessons every week!

Jakob it's a very knowledgeable and patient instructor. It was very easy to talk to him and let him know what I was wanting to learn. He was able to incorporate music theory and technique in a very easy and simple way to understand and work on. Of the different instructors that I've had lessons from, Jakob was my favorite and the one that I gained the most knowledge from. I would definitely recommend him to others. You won't be disappointed!

Munro is the best ! The best teacher I have ever had. Very knowledgeable about music theory which enables the student to learn improvisation. He simplifies theory making it very easy to understand. He also understands that every student has his/her own learning curve and is never intimidating.
Anna
After studying with Munro for 5 years, I can say without a doubt, I would not be at the level I am now without him. From the first lesson, he had me playing a song. Munro is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I could not recommend Munro enough for future students!
Ed
I consider myself extremely lucky to have Munro as my instructor. I am in my 50's and only decided to learn to play piano several years ago. Munro can teach the most advanced techniques, music theory and composition, yet still has the patience for someone like myself, who is a casual learner that just wants to play for enjoyment and doesn't always have much time to practice. He is never frustrated by my slow progress, always supportive, and has a knack for finding music that will challenge but not overwhelm me. And while my competency at playing still has a long way to go, my understanding of music, and appreciation for composition are something I would not have received from most any other instructor.
I have no reservations endorsing Munro, regardless of your ambition, skill level or goals.

"I just relocated to the Henderson area. I have been banging out cowboy chords on a guitar for years, but recently got my first electric and a burning desire to learn some lead, blues, CW riffs and better technique, knowledge and command of the fret board. After interviewing and meeting with 4 other teachers, I am happy to report I chose Jeff. Jeff knows his stuff, is prepared, is respectful of my time and efforts, is knowledgeable about music, music theory, guitar technique and can effectively transfer his knowledge to a student in the way that particular student learns. All while having fun! Prior to my first lesson Jeff asked me for examples of what I'd like to learn. At my first lesson he had a notebook prepared with fundamental technique for me to practice, music tabbed out that I had mentioned, and a lot of good material for me to practice. I was playing some cool stuff immediately. My wife was surprised not to hear the usual from me when I got home. Jeff is knowledgeable in all forms of guitar - classical to heavy mental. I chose Jeff for his skill and knowledge, his approach to teaching and for what seemed would be a fun learning experience. I chose well and I can comfortably commend Jeff Colvin to anyone wishing to learn and improve on the guitar."
