I love Fawn so much - shes unlike any other teacher I’ve ever had. She’s incredibly relatable, honest, kind, sweet, funny and authentic. I love her compassion so much and her energy is beautiful. I love her very much, and I love our practice and I love that I found her and she’s apart of my life

Fawn is not only the best vocal coach that I’ve had, she is helping me immensely be able to release fears and traumas that prevent me from being able to sing properly. She is extremely intelligent when it comes to finding what is keeping you from being able to sing to the best of your ability. She is truly amazing, so glad that I was paired with fawn

Truly an innovative and knowledgeable coach! She takes a genuine interest in your lesson, works with your goals for improvement and offers ideas that you may not even relate to singing! Her wonderful personality is an added bonus; absolutely recommend!!

I write in jazz, jazz fusion, hip hop, rock, and pop styles.

Dan is a great teacher and musician. He is highly knowledgeable as well as motivating.
I started playing saxophone again after years of not playing.
But playing on my own quickly got me to a level where I didn't make much progress anymore and started to lose motivation.
Dan picked me up where I was and got me back into practicing.
He is very good in structuring the lessons and the practice to fit your goals and skills.

Dan is really a great teacher.. firstly, he’s personable, friendly and creates rapport with the student, By asking your interests he makes the lessons about YOU by accommodating those interests and the WAY you want to learn.

I’m an adult and have no interest in traditional approaches to learning an instrument; I’ve been there, done that and found it not only terribly uninspiring (twinkle little star anyone?) but In every way overly difficult by trying to mix too many skills together at the same time. Before you even have a relationship with and “feel for” your instrument and have the technical skills to play it even half way decently, you’re trying to understand how long to hold a dotted eighth note! This is the reason a lot of people quit playing before they even get started…

Dan knew exactly what I was talking about, met me there and then proceeded to get me to do more in one lesson than I probably would have done in a week on my own, and in the way I want to learn!! He knows how to meet you where you are, find your self prescribed limits and then push you through them! He’s truly skilled in all the ways a teacher needs to be effective with a student!

I have been teaching this subject for over 16 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons. Many young composers have great ideas but can only hear them in their heads or play them on an instrument. Lessons will allow you to obtain the skills to write them down with greater speed, accuracy, and clarity. More advance students will also include exploring a wider range of harmonic languages, advanced notation, instrumentation, orchestration, and aural skills. Students should come to the first lesson with examples of their work, either notated or recorded in a digital format. They should be prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study. Lessons are a minimum of 60 minutes once per week.

About Troy

Troy is an absolutely magical teacher and mentor. He not only provides caring, personalized instruction that goes far beyond the traditional fundamentals, he really takes the time to push me in ways that I find enjoyable and rewarding. I feel as though my lessons are dynamic and varied enough to keep me always engaged and looking forward to that next session. Best of all, Troy is that special type of guru that really gives you that added incentive to go the extra mile...I never feel a guilt or pressure to be at a certain level or practice a certain amount, I just feel this desire to impress Troy during my next lessons. Awesome stuff - very special guy! Looking forward to a lifetime of learning with Troy!

"Lorin helped me hone my songwriting skills immensely, by not only teaching but collaborating with me when necessary. It was refreshing to find someone who put his teachings into practical learning, where I could see the outcomes become apparent. He’s a nice dude, and is experienced equally across his fields. He guided me to making intelligent choices for equipment purchases, both instruments and pro audio gear. We first met while he was living in New York, and boy has he traveled since. I think living in so many different states, and being that well journeyed has given him good cultural depth to his work. Check out some of his own collabs with singers and musicians from all over the world...that really says it all."
