My goal as a teacher is to make students successful in their goals. I work with a variety of people; some of them study music for personal enjoyment and others for their musical career. Everyone responds differently to music, that is why I prepare special lessons for each student. As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.

About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. is students for competitions, audition preparation and professional concerts. Each year his students have the opportunity to perform at the world-renowned Steinway Hall in New York City. This yearly student recital gives students the opportunity to perform in one of New York City’s most sought after recital Halls located in midtown Manhattan. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and competitions.
I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

I've been teaching and performing professionally for over 15 years. I have my BA in music and business. I have had some amazing experiences along the way. I'm a laid back teacher but you will definitely learn
a lot. I just believe if it starts to not be fun, what's the point? Music isn't just about perfect theory and note placement it's about enjoyment. That's why I tailor make every lesson specifically based on my student's goals. I have students that like a more traditional approach so I use standard method books with them. I also have students that want to learn how to play by ear so we use a less traditional method and I teach them chord structures and how to move around easily on their instrument. My favorite thing to teach is vocal lessons but I love teaching piano and guitar also.

The In-Studio lessons are taught on an upright piano or acoustic/electric guitar. Student should bring own guitar. No pets. Waiting room out front for parents.

Mary is a Tony nominated writer, actress, and teacher whose Broadway credits include Martha Jefferson in "1776" and Grace Farrell in "Annie". *** Lesson Details ***
In a one hour lesson, we will spend twenty five minutes on vocal exercises designed to teach support and placement. Having performed leads on and Off Broadway, I know that without good technique you can't do eight shows a week, do back to back sets in a nightclub or cabaret or tour as a pop or rock singer. The second half of the lesson is spent on songs. As an acting as well as vocal coach, I focus on dramatics as well as musical interpretation. A singer must be connected to the words as well as the music. I hope to teach you to love singing as much as I do.

Mary is a lively, voluble person with enormous experience particularly in musical theater who enjoys working with students.
Initially and as the student moves along, Mary assesses talent and abilities and then continues to periodically reassess the learning in a manner that never ceases to amaze me. I have been working with Mary for six months and found her evaluations of my strengths and what I need to work on to be spot on every time.
What I esteem most is Mary's technical acumen, the techniques she learned from her teachers and mentors and her experience as a performer. Her keen ear and eye immediately pick out every nuance being sung that needs work. She answers questions about where "to go" in throat, mouth, tongue, torso, etc., demonstrating how to correctly produce the sounds, tones, and supported breathing in question. Voice teachers, of course, are supposed to do this. Mary does this superbly.
If you are seeking a teacher who knows her technique, especially in musical theater, I highly recommend Mary.

Hi Mary,
In my opinion, our session last night wasn't productive. My opinion is, you weren't really interested in teaching me. Out of the 60 minute session. I only did about 3 to 5 minutes of exercises. You spent 55 minutes talking about your past and present students, professional actors you know, show business, acting techniques and your accomplishments. You did talk about about the script that i would read and the emotion behind it, but that lead into more about your students and professional actors you know. it took you 30 minutes in your office to find that script, (which should have been done a head of time) then we went downstairs and another 25 minutes of talking before i could read it to you.

Towards the end when i finally spoke up about so much time being passed and nothing being done. You said you needed to see my personality so you can know where to start with me. That made no sense to me, how are you seeing my personality if you are the one mostly talking about your accomplishments and who you know and what you've done?
Why not pick a point and start there and see what my weak and strong points are? You also asked me the same questions you asked me on the phone, have you ever taken lessons before, why do you want to act, what do you do for work which to me just consumed more time.

What i found surprising and discouraging was when you asked me why would I take acting classes up here when there are some of the best acting schools in the world just an hour away in New York City? I wish you had said that to me over the phone before our meeting, I would reconsider taking lessons from you and just spend the extra money and go down to the city. If i were an instructor i would be grateful for anyone who sacrificed their time and money to come see me, and never ask why they chose me when there is better not that far away. With that said I have decided to cancel my remaining lessons with you please do not bill me any further.

Broadway music is a joy to teach and sing because you have a lot of back story into your character and situation from the show. Because it is in English, it is easy to relate to. It also needs to be over emotional to be read by the audience.

Broadway and musical theater has always been one of my favorite styles. The acting, singing, and dancing are what I love. I have been singing on the stage for quite a while and performing in plays and musicals. I have taken classes and continue to hone my gift as a performer. It is very important to feel comfortable when learning something new so that you are not afraid to fail. Getting over the fear of failing is the initial part that will free you to experiment with your voice and really grow. You will find a safe space here to do that.

Leah, a teacher, singer/songwriter, musician, entertainer and Berklee College of Music graduate.

She loves teaching and loves her students. Her main joy in teaching is watching her students grasp a new understanding and appreciation for their desired art and growing in their skills and talent. She loves seeing her students overcome obstacles. In her lessons, Leah sets the tone for care and a safe space to truly grow fearlessly. It is important to grow in confidence in your craft. In lessons, she covers setting a foundation, different genres, confidence, warm-up exercises, vocal techniques, ear training, music theory, harmony, performance techniques, audition preparation, range, improvisation, agility, freedom and more. Originating from Henderson, North Carolina, she grew up singing in school, church and choirs including the Raleigh Girls Choir of Raleigh, NC. Taking singing and piano lessons grew her love for music. She always had a fondness of jazz music starting at a young age, as her father would play jazz music. Studying music has led her to perform in recitals, concerts and festivals such as the Mozart Music Festival with The Capital City Girl’s Choir in Vienna, Austria, to study and perform abroad in Valencia, Spain, to graduate from Berklee College of Music and to continue writing, performing and growing as an artist. Leah also enjoys being involved in and performing in community events as she gives back. It is very important to her to help others as many have helped her.

Leah is so energetic while teaching her class. She goes above and beyond for her each student, by having activities to spark their interest. She meets each student where they are academically and successfully help each student complete the course. She is patient, kind and full of a loving spirit and a joy to watch online. My philosophy is simple: everyone can sing. Some are more naturally gifted, and some may just need guidance, but everyone CAN sing! Whether you're preparing for an audition and only need a few lessons, or you are interested in an ongoing vocal education, I can help. As a classically trained musician, I understand the power and importance of technique, applying it in my lessons no matter the goal of the student and no matter the genre they're focused in. By implementing the breath, I work to unveil my students' unique strengths and this allows them to blossom as performers.

About Beatrice
Before I am a teacher, I am first and foremost, a performer. I believe this puts me at an advantage as a music teacher because I not only have formal training to educate, but I also have the experience of performing. I know how music involves our passions, emotions, our dreams and our fears, that all our complexities as human beings can perfectly be communicated through music. This is why I turn to performance time and time again. There is, no doubt, so much to be said on the intellectual and educational benefits of learning to play an instrument, but I don't think that is the reason many students want to learn. Rather, it amounts to being an outlet of creativity for the student.

In lessons, I try to take a balanced approach by exposing students to every aspect of music: theory, technique, expression, history, and composition. They're
ALL important in music lessons! Within a well-rounded music education, I encourage students to apply both rigor and patience in what I assign. Lastly, no two students are the same; everyone has different needs and goals and comes with their own unique set of traits. I diagnose accordingly and work to uncover each individuals' strengths and weaknesses.

I went into this very nervous as an adult trying to work on my singing to accompany my guitar playing. She really made me feel at home and comfortable. I improved drastically and get cheers when I do karaoke even now. She even helped me improve my musicianship while playing guitar and singing. My confidence is at an all time high. I highly recommend her.

Hello! I am an experienced private voice instructor of 2 years, and teach elementary school general music and choir. It is my personal belief that everyone can sing. In lessons, students will work to discover their own sound by being challenged to explore their voices through guided instruction. Students will experience a wide range of age and level-appropriate vocal experiences including, but not limited to singing classical voice repertoire, singing in foreign language, exploration of pop and musical theatre genres, music theory instruction, and singing games. Through these exercises, students will be engaged in voice lessons that challenge them, but are also playful, encouraging, and enjoyable.

Hello! My name is Amy Jackson and I am so excited to meet you. I've loved music since day 1, so much that I chose to major in it! I recently graduated from Capital University in May of 2018 with a Bachelors in Music Education, and I currently teach elementary school music and choir in Springfield, OH. Throughout my career, I've performed classical voice and opera. Additionally, I've always had a sincere interest in musical theatre, and have played roles like The Witch in "Into the Woods," Aunt Eller in "Oklahoma,"and "Mme. Thenardier" in Les Miserables. I am a GRAMMY-winning choral singer and composer in the BMI Musical Theater Writing Workshop with a Masters Degree and Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from University of Cincinnati- CCM. I have also worked as a studio pianist for Marilyn Horne, Ron Raines, Deric Rosenblatt, Bill Neill, and several other NYC voice teachers.

As a teacher, I bring all of my diverse experiences together to teach classical singing technique as a means for effectively communicating and storytelling. Much of my technique involves identifying and releasing tension through proper breath management. We all tend to get in our own ways by trying to achieve a specific result, so I work with singers to find what their voices naturally sound like.

In addition, I offer coaching on musical style, acting, diction, and many other aspects of performing.

In demand as a vocalist, pianist, vocal coach, and composer, Jason Weisinger has been praised as “satisfying, occasionally sublime” by the Boston Globe. Already enjoying success in a wide variety of repertoire as a vocalist, highlights include a double bill of "Curlew River" (ensemble) and "Dido and Aeneas" (Sailor) with the Mark Morris Dance Group at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a workshop of Ricky Ian Gordon's opera "Intimate Apparel" (Mr. Marks) with The Metropolitan Opera, and The Boston POPS revue "Simply Sondheim" with Kate Baldwin & Jason Danieley.

As a choral artist, Jason has sung with GRAMMY-winning choir The Crossing, the GRAMMY-nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, the American Classical Orchestra, the Bard SummerScape Festival, Park Avenue Synagogue,
and Park East Synagogue.

A self-taught composer, Jason is a part of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. Additionally, his song, ‘i carry your heart,’ recently won second place in the Sparks & Wiry Cries songSLAM. He also designs sound and composes for stop-motion short films.

Jason holds a BM in voice performance from SUNY Fredonia and an MM and AD in opera performance from University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music. He has studied and performed at the Tanglewood Music Center, Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar, Brevard Music Center, SongFest, and New Music on the Point.

Beyond music, Jason enjoys sketching, writing poetry, watching and dissecting movies, and connecting the dots of the past. His most fervent supporter is his beloved dog, Carter “Miles” Weisinger.

Jason helped me so much with breath control and getting out of my head when singing. He is incredibly kind and supportive, but still pushed me to be better. He sings so beautifully and even plays the piano wonderfully, so I could really trust his opinion. He's clearly done a lot of work to get to where he is and it comes through in his technique. I highly recommend him to anybody looking to be a more confident and convincing singer!
