I have had the great opportunity to teach all levels for over 15 years in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the USA. I have held positions as guitar teacher at many Colleges, Universities and Companies around the UK and USA. I have worked in the distant learning department at the Manhattan School of Music, teaching students around the country from their studio base. With many of my students going onto music schools such as The New School, NYC, Queens College, and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire I believe that I have a wide range of experience with all age ranges from beginners to beyond advanced. I focus on making the lessons as fun and engaging as possible whilst keeping on track to certain goals set by myself and the student throughout the year.

“I teach all ages, 7 years old and up, at any level, and in all styles of music including rock, folk, blues, reggae, classical, funk, afro beat, traditional and free jazz, as well as advanced avant-garde concepts. All of my lessons are geared toward the individual students’ needs in transcription, composition, reading, improvisation, theory and performance. "In 2001 I was asked if I could teach children with autism. I never could have imagined the amazing rewards and loving reciprocation I would receive from these truly gifted children and their families. Now, more than 19 years later I've had the pleasure of teaching scores of children with autism. It's been one of the single greatest joys of my profession as a musician watching these amazing children grow and flourish. I feel a true calling and blessing in my uncanny ability to connect

Charles is highly approachable and extremely knowledgeable. He walks the perfect line between making his students feel comfortable whilst also pushing them to become better in every single session.
I got a solid grasp of the basics of music theory and was able to fully improvise in different scales at the end of the course. The growth I had was tremendous - all thanks to Charles' guidance.
Charles will take the time to fully understand the needs, goals and struggles of his students. He will be there for them inside and outside of class time because he genuinely cares about music and his students becoming better.

I have been teaching guitar, including Classical Guitar, for 23 years. I emphasize the finer points of finger style guitar to achieve the best technique and sound. Also standard music notation for reading music is very important. Classical guitar is a different world than the standard guitar approach, but it is quite fulfilling and enjoyable, although the technique will apply to any finger style song you would like to play!

My goal is not so much teaching one how to play an instrument, but more broadly, to help one cultivate their own living musicality. My own areas of practice, study, and specialization are in free improvisation, sound art/Sonic sculpture, conceptual performance, and songwriting/composition. I've explored a vast number of different styles and genre. Jazz, classical, folk and bluegrass, spirituals, blues, punk rock, contemporary ghospel, electronic dance and ambient, to name a few... I love working with kids, I love teaching any age any skill level, I promise to listen, and fine tune our lesson to fit your specific personality and needs.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

Having moved from Barcelona Spain we were interested in continuing our daughter's classical guitar lessons. He is able to connect to our daughter (age 10) and encourage her while giving her good feedback. She practices on her own (without reminders) and looks forward to Jesse's visits. You won't be disappointed."

Great knowledgable teacher that will help improve your skills in music. made me a lot better guitar player"

Blake Clifford goes beyond the 'call of duty' & really takes the time to make sure that his students receive exactly what they need. The teaching environment is comfortable & relaxed with all of the professional resources you would expect & more.
With Blake Clifford you get real professional training - he knows what he's talking about, & he gets straight to the point. In just the little time that I've been taking classical guitar with Blake, I've learned so much. He teaches skills that you can actually apply - it's not just a bunch of theory, and that helps me out a lot by getting to the real 'meat' of the training fast.
I highly recommend Blake Clifford to anyone who is absolutely serious about improving their musicianship & getting over stubborn plateaus."

If you're a fan of classic country music, you've come to the right place. Here, guitar teacher Willy M. shares his favorite classic country songs for guitarists... I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s in the rural Midwest when "Hee-Haw," a country television program, was something that everyone knew about. It was the Grand Ole Opry’s rendition of a high-theatrical experience, and a showcase for classic country artists to play their tunes. Willie Nelson, one of my favorite songwr …
