This is perhaps my favorite subject to teach. There are such a variety of things you can do with the most basic of stitches, which students can then build upon depending on their interests. My goal for my students to walk away with a confidence in creating their own designs, with techniques tailored to their specific aesthetic goals.
*No machine embroidery.
About Rhiannon
My name is Rhiannon and I am a third generation crafter. Originally I went to school for art history, all the while crafting. Eventually I had enough of studying other people's work and instead wanted to make my own and empower others to do the same. I consider myself to be the "Swiss Army Knif

This is not a machine embroidery class. Get ready to move beyond the basic cross stitch (by hand). Let me coach you on specialty stitches such as satin, queen, eyelets, Rhodes, French knots and more. Let me repeat, this will not be a machine embroidery class, every stitch will be by hand.
I've been cross stitching since 1983 and teaching it for over 10 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll learn how to organize your material for easier sewing, master basic stitches, and as time goes on you'll be able to tackle complicated stitches and designs. I specialize in counted cross stitch, but also have experience with redwork, drawnwork, Bargello, pulled thread, hardanger, and canvaswork. Typically, I use The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff but can recommend other helpful resources. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I teach hand embroidery, hand sewing and machine sewing to students of all ages. Beginning students can learn hand sewing stitches that are used in conjunction with machine sewing to finish items.
Embroidery is like painting with a needle and floss. Students can learn basic embroidery stitches to use on pre-printed kits or to create their own drawings.
About Tracy
I teach beginning, intermediate and advanced sewing. I have been sewing since before I can remember, for over 40 years. I teach sewing after school for several local private schools and privately at home for 10 years. I also teach for the City at the Cultural Arts Center. I have been fingerprint

I can't wait for my next class!"

Lily is helping me to become proficient using my embroidery machine. She immediately taught me a few tricks to getting my machine to do what it is suppose to do without much effort. She has in one lesson given me tons of information and help to get my embroidery hobby started properly. It's awesome to have one on one assistance right in my home so I don't have to take my heavy machine anywhere.
I'm disabled and having a service like this one available is invaluable. I have to keep my mind working and busy, and this helps me tremendously. Thank you LILY and TakeLessons for helping me to fulfill my goals!"
