I am an experienced Music Educator and would love to share the joy of music with you! My mission is to create joyful experiences that inspire a lifelong love of the arts. I have been teaching for seven years. I am an operatically trained vocalist and have been playing piano since I was nine years old. I taught private voice and piano to ages 5-65 for four years, then received my Bachelor's of Music in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. I became a certified Music Educator and taught K-5 music and ukulele in public schools as well as internationally.

During my time in the K-5 classroom, my students were invited as a featured group to perform at a state music educator's convention, I presented workshops to fellow educators, and I organized an 80 student ukulele program! I have extensive performance experience. I have sung professionally for musical theatre companies, churches, and private events. I'm currently based out of the NYC/ Jersey City area and loving every ...

Hello! I am an actor, singer, and teacher in NYC. I was an adjunct faculty at NYU Steinhardt Vocal Performance program 2017-2019. At NYU, I taught private voice lessons to NYU students for 2 years, from beginner to advanced singers. My goal is to find your "authentic" voice so that you can sing in a healthy and sustainable way across the genres. (classical, music theater, pop/rock, R&B/soul, country, etc.) I have developed a style of teaching that is efficient and flexible. I will cater my lessons to your needs!

I also studied voice science (vocology) through the NYU Voice Center under the SLPs and Laryngologists, so I understand how the vocal system works. I will provide explanations that make sense using anatomy and physiology!

My teaching style is “taller-made” for each student and his/her development. Since singing is a combination of technique and expression, and is very physical and emotional, I aim to help each of my students gain that balance of emotionality with technique!

My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!
Steve
Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

In addition to being one of the most educated, well-versed, and talented teachers I have come across in my 2 decades of performing, his passion for music and all that is art is extremely evident. He instills a faith in his students and co-performers that lets you know he believes in you and your potential, and ensures his dedication in assisting you to learn, grow, and bloom both musically and artistically.

I have had Randy as my instructor for over a year and he has helped me develop my singing skills to a level I didn’t think was possible. Even after the first few weeks of class, I noticed a difference in my singing. Randy is extremely knowledgeable and does a wonderful job of teaching. He does well with explaining techniques and makes things easily understandable. He is also very kind, talented and professional. I will always be grateful to Randy because he is helping me to be a singer that I always dreamt of being!

Ms. Dorothy taught my then 6 year old son piano for a year, we really loved her! She is engaging, patient, and encouraging, and is in it with her whole heart. We were really sad when she moved away, otherwise we'd have stayed for years and years! I can highly recommend her.

My daughter took voice and piano lessons from Dorothy for a year and a half and loved it!! Dorothy is so sweet and encouraging and made sure to use music that would engage my daughter (Greatest Showman, etc), along with the classics. We were so sad to see her leave DC. I highly recommend Dorothy - your children will love her!

I have been singing since I was a baby, according to my mother, my first music teacher. I thought it was mother's pride till I held a 10-month old baby, sang to her and she sang back to me. I have been teaching since the age of 14 and have over 40 years experience singing professionally. With my university chorus we traveled 2 months throughout the States and culminated with concerts at the Kennedy Ctr Washington D.C. & Lincoln Ctr, NY. I sing in 34 languages covering most genres from classical to musical theater, choral to folk-rock, Brasilian jazz & standards to alternative & world music. My approach is holistic, incorporating multidisciplinary subjects with lots of fun ways to learn, explore and express yourself. Tune in!

"I was honestly speechless during my first lesson! Daniel G is the person I have been looking for in a long time. Daniel G is a great teacher! He has such a powerful and controlled voice and what a great personable guy! I just recorded a song tonight and I can already hear and feel a difference. After my voice changed, I kept getting frustrated trying to find the right teacher. I actually think I learned and improved more from my first lesson with Daniel than weeks with others. I'm almost hesitant to write this review in fear Daniel will have less time with me. 8-)"

"I would not have been prepared whatsoever for the (what seemed like) never ending process of college auditioning. While college auditions are typically anxiety boosters, Michelle and Robert’s technique and ways of preparation over prepared me to the point where the audition was a breeze. With their help using mock auditions including sight singing, how to self warm up, posture and the necessity for 3-5 pieces of repertoire that fit my image and sound, I would not be where I am today. I knew nothing of the tediousness that a college audition was. Throughout my practice we worked on acting, something I needed major reform on. With practice, my acting made me more confident performing my piece as well as engaged my audience. Without both of their motivation and push I would not have succeeded the way I did and my audition would have been a lot bigger and scarier, when in reality it wasn’t. The biggest help for me, I believe was the mock auditions. With constant practices that mimicked the actual audition, this prepared me both mentally and physically for what the actual procedure would be like. I practiced entering the room as well as greeting the judges, something I hadn’t thought of prior. Interacting with the judges seemed a lot less nerve racking with the use of practice questions and how to answer them in a polite and engaging way. As we continued to practice, my nerves subsided. It became routine and over prepared me for the actual audition. Without Robert and Michelle’s aid I would not have been able to overcome some of my personal anxieties as well as succeed the way I did. Their constant motivation and cheer helped my nerves and allowed me to completely relax yet stay focused when practicing. I wouldn’t have the confidence I have today without their help aiding me in my vocal presentation and interaction with school officials/judges. Any student would be extremely lucky to have Michelle and Robert prepare them for college. With their tough work ethic and constant motivation, success surely follows."

"My husband and I are both musicians and have studied music for many years. We were looking for a qualified voice teacher for our daughter, to prepare for an important audition. She wanted to sing opera and did well learning the arias and studying various opera singers on You Tube; but sometimes her throat would hurt. She needed to learn healthy vocal techniques.

Michelle immediately, gave her several exercises to develop her breathing, an increase her volume, and worked on her diction in Italian, French and German; always enthusiastic an encouraging. Michelle went above and beyond to help our daughter gain the confidence that she needed and to bring out the best in her.

We highly recommend Michelle Kei I."

"I absolutely adore working with Robert in preparation for my future in the voice and music industry. His technique and approach for both the voice and music theory is not only helpful but also fun. Under his instruction I'm both able to learn both technique on how to better my sound and the anatomy behind it. I enjoy going to voice twice a week and I always look forward to my lessons as they approach. I truly feel I am being prepared in the bests ways possible for my future as well as the most fun learning environment voice teachers have to offer."

"Greg's a very good teacher. At first I wasn't sure how all the vocal exercises and breathing that we were doing were fitting together, but by the 5th lesson, I could see my singing improve significantly. Greg has a lot of experience, but doesn't try to overwhelm you or do things that are unnecessary. He works on what he thinks you're capable doing, but also guides you past your comfort zone a little bit each lesson as well. Recommended."
