Get the results you want with individualized ESL Classes! For your first class, we will have a consultation about your goals, strengths, weaknesses, and any education or experience you have with English. From then on, I tailor each and every lesson to fit your needs- this could be speaking, listening, grammar, phrasal verbs, culture, etc. I incorporate various forms of media into my lessons including articles, video, and worksheets. I send follow up emails after class that detail the mistake patterns I noticed and how to fix them. Ask me a question to find out more!

About Elisha
First of all, congratulations on having the courage and self-discipline to do what most others do not: learn a new language. The hard part is over! You've already begun the learning process and now all you need is someone to give you the guidance, support, and tools to help you along the way.

I hold my students to high standards, believing that setting consistent and high expectations is the key to success and improvement. I encourage students to reach these standards by providing honest feedback about their strengths and weaknesses, actively listening, and individualizing every lesson. Though I set high standards for students, I expect and even encourage them to make mistakes. Making mistakes is the best way to begin getting better and lets me know what areas we should work on together.

I have a TESOL degree and also fluently speak Chinese and Korean. which helps my Chinese and Korean students learn English much faster from me than other ESL teachers who do not speak these languages. I have a great passion for teaching and understand how to help my students master the English language by learning through application. Learning a language is like putting pieces of a puzzle together. Once you know how the puzzle pieces of a language work and interact with each other, you have the critical foundation for mastering any language.

About Michael
I graduated from the University of California Irvine. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I teach health, emotional healing, and languages: Chinese and ESL. I use digital flashcards that I have created to help my Chinese and ESL students continue practicing and applying the language they are learning in between lessons. Helping others grow and learn is my life's greatest passion.

Chinese:
I majored in Chinese Literature and Language at the University of California Irvine and studied abroad for a year on a full scholarship at one of the top universities in China: Beijing Normal University. I can teach all ages well even if you do not have any background.

I really enjoyed my first lesson with Michael. Although I have no background in learning Chinese Michael made learning a new language, which I was at first intimidated by, very easy to understand. After the first class, I felt excited because I was already making basic sentences. I am looking forward to many more classes with Michael!

About Leah
Leah, a teacher, singer/songwriter, musician, entertainer and Berklee College of Music graduate.

She loves teaching and loves her students. Her main joy in teaching is watching her students grasp a new understanding and appreciation for their desired art and growing in their skills and talent. She loves seeing her students overcome obstacles. In her lessons, Leah sets the tone for care and a safe space to truly grow fearlessly. It is important to grow in confidence in your craft. In lessons, she covers setting a foundation, different genres, confidence, warm-up exercises, vocal techniques, ear training, music theory, harmony, performance techniques, audition preparation, range, improvisation, agility, freedom and more. She focusses on a few things at a time and has her students grow into other areas to work.

Musically, she provides
sounds and smooth tones of Jazz and Soul. Her latest EP entitled SonKissed is Jazz influenced music with Neo-Soul vibes and a positive message about love and life. She has been singing around Boston and New York and writing and recording new music. She has great things in store for her in the near future and much music and passion to share with the world.

Originating from Henderson, North Carolina, she grew up singing in school, church and choirs including the Raleigh Girls Choir of Raleigh, NC. Taking singing and piano lessons grew her love for music. She always had a fondness of jazz music starting at a young age, as her father would play jazz music. Studying music has led her to perform in recitals, concerts and festivals such as the Mozart Music Festival with The Capital City Girl’s Choir in Vienna, Austria, to study and perform abroad in Valencia, Spain, to graduate from Berklee College of Music and to continue writing, performing and growing as an artist. Leah also enjoys being involved in and performing in community events as she gives back. It is very important to her to help others as many have helped her.

She gets much of her inspiration from influences such as Jesus Christ, her parents, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Dianne Reeves, Lisa Fischer, Sammy Davis Jr., Sade, Anita O’day, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Adele, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mary Mary, Robin Thicke, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Esperanza Spalding, Miles Davis, Al Jarreau, Nancy Wilson, Ledisi, Sounds of Blackness, Take 6, Gretchen Parlato, and Quincy Jones just to name a few.

Leah was so knowledgeable and personable! After my first lesson, I’d say that she did a great job of explaining concepts that I typically struggle with, in simple ways. Her passion for teaching and her skill at singing both show! I’m so happy I found her!!

English is the language of the world! I'm amazed at how many bilingual people there are now living in Mexico, where I live. Aren't you ready to be one of them? Whether your areas of need are academic reading and writing or casual speaking, I can help you to improve your skills. We will use a variety of online sources and books as the classes progress.

I've got ten years of experience teaching all aspects of ESL: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Coupled with a Master's degree in Education and a Graduate Certificate in TESL, I'm fully qualified to help you bring your English language skills to the next level. My accent is a neutral North American accent and I can teach you how to mimic me and other Americans so that you can understand and be understood.

I look forward to working with you!

About Jeanne
Hello! I'm excited to have the chance to help you with your English! I'm a native speaker from Cleveland, OH in the USA and have ten years of experience teaching Accent Reduction and ESL. I've got a BA in Spanish and a Master's in Education with a Graduate Certificate in TESL. My students LOVE me a lot and I always receive high ratings. I also speak fluent Spanish and I'm learning French and Russian, so I know the challenge of mastering a foreign language.

My favorite area to teach is pronunciation and accent reduction, but I can also help you with grammar, reading, writing, idioms, phrasal verbs, vocabulary... you name it! Need help with a presentation? Want me to check your emails? I'm happy to help. In addition, I like to have fun when I teach so that you have fun as you learn. We can incorporate tongue twisters, video, poems, or wh
atever you are passionate about.
IMPORTANT: I am a very light-hearted person. At the same time, I am responsible as a teacher, but if you are a person who takes life very seriously, I may not be a good fit for you.

I've also got an Associate's degree in nursing and a background in business, as I was the owner of a food business for 3 1/2 years. So I'd be happy to focus on either medical or business vocabulary if you like. Currently, I live in Mexico with my husband and our pooch, Flaco. I was away from teaching for a few years but I'm happy to be back into it and meeting new friends from all over the world. Like you!

NOTE ABOUT SCHEDULING: in order to get the most benefit in as short a time as possible, I recommend scheduling classes 2 to 3 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes.

I highly recommend Jeanne. She has been helping me with my accent reduction for about ten weeks now, and I am very happy with the results that I am getting. We work on intonation and the English sounds that do not exist in my native language (Spanish). I sound more American now. She is very patient and tailors the lessons according to my needs. Thank you, Jeanne!
