I tutor high school and college students, and help them get ahead of the program and stand out from their peers in subjects such as chemistry (first year and organic), mathematics (algebra, calculus, vector calculus, and differential equations), physics (classical Newtonian, modern, and electromagnetism), and English essay writing skills.
About Julia
My instruction extends nationwide, with students from all corners of the US, utilizing online tutoring services such as Skype.
My main field of study is in MATH (trig, algebra, geometry, precalculus), CHEMISTRY (high school and college), and PHYSICS (high school and college).
I completed my Bachelors in Physics and Mathematics Education at Hunter University and have gained experience with both in-person and online group instruction and curriculum development.
Some examples of the students I have tutored are: Elementary school students preparing for State competitions and exams; High school and College students in preparance for entrance exams, and in subjects such as algebra, geom
I do Regents and SAT/ACT prep for these subjects as well as the GRE (These are NYS based High School Preparatory Exams - do not hesitate to ask should you need assistance with the ones offered in your state/country).
In addition, I am thorough and meticulous, by paying special attention to how the student grasps information and retains it, I prepare individualized handwritten reviews, with supplemental material found online and in texts.
I assign homework to keep my students ahead of what is going on in class, and a visual and intuitive understanding of the concepts I present is important to me, so I use visual aids (diagrams and interactive models) to help my students integrate what they learn with me in real life situations.
My instruction includes:
1. Tutoring based on the school curriculum
2. Instruction on the home-schooling curriculum
3. Assisting those with a gap in going back to school/university.
I start with an assessment based on what the student has trouble with or last remembers covering in school, and prepare material going from there.
As a result, my students all have improved grades without any need for cramming before tests, and I encourage a stress-free and easygoing learning environment.
My lessons are fun and enthusiastic - these subjects are beautiful and will help open your mind to new ways of thinking - whatever your field of study!

I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough.

About Michael F.
CloseWhile in college, I tutored students in various Math course ranging from Calculus to Linear Algebra. My students went on to get a deep understanding of the subject material and did very well in the classes I tutored them in. I believe for a student to learn, it takes effort on both the student's part and the teacher's. I take my time to fully understand what the student's weaknesses are and how to approach them while instilling confidence in the student.
About Michael
As far as teaching baseball, I played for a Division 1 team in college. I also worked in one of the largest baseball camps in the Northeast, the New York Baseball Academy, throughout my entire collegiate career. I taught children the fundamentals of hitting and fielding in a way that was fun and easy to learn.

About Craig W.
CloseI would love to become involved and help strengthen the math skills of your high schooler! I am currently tutoring a number of high schoolers and have seen a huge boost in their confidence and abilities and would love to work with yours. In addition to reinforcing the fundamentals, and dissecting advanced material so it is more easily understood, I plan to initially is to examine their thought process, and then deconstruct their approach so it becomes more systematic and methodical.
I had a near perfect SAT math score (780 when it was scored out of 800) and also attended UPenn. But most importantly I can get him/her to raise her math score! My general strategy is to identify the type of question (Alg, Trig, Geometry etc) s/he struggles with and to examine hish/er thought process tackling these questions. I have also counseled students and parents on college admissions process since I was a counselor for UPenn undergrads for graduate school admissions.

About Craig
I have tutored students at the junior/high school, and college levels. As a teaching assistance for undergraduates at the Ivy league, the Univ of Pennsylvania, I teach pupils to dissect problems and challenges into manageable components. This was my stepping stone into a professorial role. I am originally from NYC, and attended Stuyvesant, so I also help tutor students with the SSAT and SHSAT. Knowledge and understanding alone does not make a good educator, it is the ability to transmit such skills which is remarkable.
I have a Master's of Science of Biochemical Engineering from the

With a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, I have taught basic engineering at UC-Berkeley as a graduate student. Materials Science requires strong math and algebra background. I also taught basic engineering in the Gifted Youth Program at Stanford University. I have been teaching Data Visualization online at the University of New Mexico. In this class, I pioneered the methods of using art as a visualization tool to teach students math, which I believe it can be easily applied to students at all ages.
My Tutoring Style:
I come up with a lesson plan catering for each student's need. In the first few lessons, I will introduce you the basic concepts required to the subject. In the next few lessons, you will be able to gasp the subjects by practicing example questions under my guidance. Each example question is designed to cover a certain concept introduced in the first few lessons. The ultimate goal for you is to learn the concept ...

I have helped more than 100 students to overcome the fear of math.
With a Ph.D. in materials engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, math and algebra have always been my favorite subjects at school. I scored perfectly in GRE Quantitative and a 3.9 GPA in college math classes (calculus 1, 2, 3. Linear Algebra, Calculus AB, BC, Statistics).
With more than 10 years experiences (Online and face-to-face combined) in classroom teaching engineering, science, and art, I have been tutoring various math topics (from Middle School to College Calculus) online since 2015.
I am well organized and enjoy breaking down complex math problem into simple terms. I love working with students one-on-one. I find that when I have a chance to accommodate students' individua
I have a passion for math. For me, tutoring math, is not only helping students to excel in standardized tests, or gain good grade in a class, but also teaching students who want to learn math, the rule that governs our world, at an extremely thorough, in-depth level.

About Keenan B.

Hello, I’m Keenan! I graduated in 2016 from Denison University in Granville, OH, with a BA in Mathematics and a BA in English Literature. I have 5 years of tutoring experience.
Many of the issues I’ve seen tutees run into, especially with mathematics, stems from a lack of confidence. They often believe that they are just not good at math and end of giving up before they try, making this a self-fulfilling prophecy. My tutoring method centers around “learning-by-doing” to gain confidence and teach core concepts at the same time while we build up to more difficult problems. Mathematical thinking takes time and a lot of head-scratching, and while I can not do the work for you, I am there to be a guiding hand that can help talk you through problems and examples and teach you how to study. I am open to tutoring anyone college age and below in any mathematics subject from Calculus and below. Once we meet for the first time, we can work out what best works for you in terms of learning ...
About Keenan
The day before a lesson, I like to be sent whatever material or problems that a student is working on so that I may go over it myself in order to make the most of the time in a session. I believe in learning by doing, but in that regard, I also aim to make sure students know not just HOW to solve a problem but WHY that solution works. My hope is to build up students’ mathematical knowledge while also teaching them the most effective ways to study and learn, making them more eff

I've been tutoring students in Math of all levels from Pre-Algebra all the way up to Calculus for over 5 years. My philosophy is teaching you how to approach each problem rather than simply giving you a straight answer. My goal is to help you see the patterns between different questions and help you develop a solid strategy for each type of question you approach.
About Nicholas
I graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley in 20
I have over 1000 hours of tutoring and teaching experience, and am comfortable with Math, Physics, Chemistry, Writing, English, French, ACT, and SAT. My only policy is that you do not simply ask me for the answer, but rather help me help you through questions. A big part of your college career is that you find yourself not being able to ask the right questions to guide you to the answer, and I want to be here to help you learn that skill. I will help walk you through all the steps of the problem and clarify the theory along the way so that you can gain mastery of the material. However, if you are simply asking for someone who will give you a quick answer without a thorough explanation, please seek another tutor.
I can tutor ACT Math, ACT English, ACT Reading, ACT Writing, ACT Science, SAT Math, SAT Writing, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Biostatistics, Statistics, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC/AB, Introduction to College Calculus, Probability, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Introduction to College Physics, and Introduction to College Chemistry. I also have extensive experience with college admissions guidance and organization & study skills.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you master the topics you are studying!
