My approach to teaching involves combining work on technical fundamentals and transcription. I find that starting with detailed technical practice makes the achievement of a player's goals quicker, and transcribing from recordings adds real playing experience and is invaluable for building musical vocabulary.

My son is a BEGINNER beginner. Rodrigo is a very nice guy and seems to know his stuff very well. I would give him 5 stars but I don't think he realized that my son needed the basic, basic 1st lesson (i.e. how to hold the instrument). We've only attended one session so this is fully based on that one lesson. I'm sure he'll adjust his teaching from here on out.

Mr. Rodrigo is a professional, respectful and super patient instructor. I could not made a better choice. I am looking forward to my next class @

"Jonathan taught me when I was around middle school age and has left a lasting impression on how I approach the bass and music 10-ish years later. Under his tutelage I learned music theory, techniques, and all sorts of different genres and styles.

His lessons were always very professional. I always felt challenged, but not overwhelmed, by the material being taught. He also made it easy to be interested in the lessons; he would always ask if there's any song or genre that I wanted to learn and that sort of thing.

Overall, definitely a 5/5 top shelf educator and musician."

"Robert has been great to work with. He comes to our home weekly to work on bass guitar with our daughter. She has come so far in only a few months. They work on all aspect of the music- theory, finger placement, drills, and they pick some really fun music. He has let my daughter pick several songs she really likes so that she stays engaged. Meeting time been flexible which is a huge bonus! So much easier on all of us! Thanks Robert!"

He's a good teacher, teaching both elements of theory and also how to get the "feel" of music, and he's also fun to be around. I can say that without his lessons and the music he's sent me, I would not be nearly as good as I am today, nor as motivated to learn more."
