Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway.  His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

More important than my conservatory education and my experience as an educator and a performer is my passion for teaching music and acting and my undying belief that anyone can learn to be a musician and an actor. I'm currently available to teach lessons in my own St. Augustine home studio, in the World Golf Village area, and online around the globe.

I'm a cum laude graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey and a winner of its merit scholarship.
After performing with the New York and Royal Philharmonics, the New Jersey and Virginia Symphonies, the American Boy Choir and the internationally renowned opera star, Andrea Bocelli, studying opera and piano at Westminster Choir College and performance art and improvisational acting at East Carolina University in North Carolina, and appearing in shows and pageants across
the east coast, I found my life's work in 2003 when I began teaching music.

I've successfully taught hundreds of different students since 2003, from 5-year-olds with special needs to middle-aged professional opera singers, from a professor in Saudi Arabia to a 65-year-old doctor of music, from kids of Radio Disney to students of the famed Actors Studio in New York, from busy stay-at-home parents to retirees with bucket lists, from CEOs to touring singer-songwriters.

I've created and led a workshop about singing called, "The Whole Body Singer". I've written dozens of articles about music and music education for the blog at TakeLessons.com.

My extensive knowledge of the voice has encouraged and empowered hundreds of singers and prepared many of them to win competitions, pageants and auditions, as well as roles in operas and musicals.

Having both taught myself piano and received formal training at a conservatory has prepared me to teach almost anyone how to play.
The intensive training and education that I received at Westminster Choir College in songwriting, music theory and sight reading has benefited my students at every level.

My current work as singer and keyboardist in the acoustic rock duo, Timberwood, has strengthened my knowledge of a broad range of styles and genres. I have a strong commitment to continuing my education. That's why I recently (2014) studied songwriting online with the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

In the lessons that I teach, I'm flexible, positive and encouraging. While I want my students to have fun and love music, not dread it, I expect hard work and persistence. I am caring, patient, nurturing, and compassionate. In piano lessons, I usually allow the student to choose a piece with which to warm up and then move on to technique and repertoire. In voice lessons, I usually warm up the singer and discuss technique and sight singing before focusing on song choices. Joan Frey Boytim wrote a book for voice that I like to use, and I like the Estelle Liebling exercises for the more advanced singer. Hanon exercises are a big part of my piano curriculum, and I enjoy the Bastien and Alfred books for young and old. I have used completely random songs pulled out of a piano bench and a karaoke CD for kids. I will use almost anything I can get my hands on if it means effectively teaching music.
Acting lessons consist of exercises and games that apply learned concepts, and monologue and audition coaching. Parents, siblings and spouses are always welcome to observe lessons quietly.

I provide an acoustic guitar to bring to both voice and guitar lessons. I expect my piano students to have a piano, an organ or a keyboard.

Heather was great at helping me improve my singing. We did online lessons which made timing really difficult to work on and this was one of my biggest challenges to begin with. The internet was occasionally failing or very delayed. The upside was my busy schedule allowed me to keep up with the lessons for a while until I couldn't anymore. Heather is very musically talented and good at explaining how singing should feel which helped me to sing higher notes than I ever imagined I could. I wished our lessons could have been in person.

Hillary C. has been singing since joining the Sunrise Singers in elementary school. While singing in various choral groups, she also took private lessons to develop proper vocal technique. Her own students will appreciate the classical training she received as well as musical theater styles she has learned over the years.

At Washington and Lee University, Hillary participated in University Chorus, Chamber Singers, an a cappella group, and performed in musicals on stage. She studied music history, performance, and theory. Hillary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Production and received the Choral Award upon graduation. She has performed with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and Incarnation church choir.

My goal is to work with the individual singer in acquiring a solid, healthy vocal technique which results in healthy singing. Students will learn to navigate their voice and work around problem areas. Students will expand range and learn to manipulate the voice to fit the musical style required of the piece.

I have always had a passion for musical theatre and vocal performance. I belted my way to Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, where I received a B.M. in Vocal Performance.

Upon completing my Bachelor’s degree, I received an M.M. in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory. ​When I wasn’t enjoying some wicked good clam chowdah, I could be found onstage as a concert soloist with the Boston Pops conducted by Keith Lockhart or belting the national anthem at Fenway Park.

Wanting to combine my joy for traveling with my love for performance, I also studied acting at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England, musical theatre at NYU’s CAP 21, and opera at OperaWorks in California. I have performed in New York at Birdland and the Laurie Beechman Theatre, and in New Hampsh
ire with the Great Waters Music Festival and New Hampshire Dance Institute.

Fueling my wanderlust, I traveled the world in the International Tour of CATS. I have also performed in many regional theatres throughout the country. Some of my favorite credits include: The Marvelous Wonderettes, Light in the Piazza, Guys and Dolls, The Golden Apple, and The Full Monty.

I've been teaching private lessons since 2006 and have loved helping my students expand their vocal range, increase their repertoire, gain solid technique, and just enjoy singing. Each lesson will begin with a vocal warm-up focusing on breath, posture, and technique. We will then work on your music together. My granddaughter's playing has really improved even after just three corrective lessons. Justin has a great attitude and ability to communicate, Lilly has also changed her attitude towards practice for the better after taking these lessons.

As a singer, I often hear people from all walks of life lament about their inability to carry a tune and how they wish they had been born with the ability to sing. I believe that everybody has a voice worth sharing and cultivating: the first step in that journey is to find the right voice teacher.

I frequently work with students interested in developing a technique suitable for pop music and musical theater (techniques like belting), as well as students looking to begin or further their training as classically trained singers.

My teaching philosophy utilizes classically informed techniques and methodologies in order to get students to where they want to be: whether you want to sing opera, musical theater, or pop, I will help you to find and nurture your unique voice in a supportive and safe environment.

My name is Vitalis Im and I'm a tenor and violinist residing in the greater Hudson Valley area.

I believe that music can help students from all walks of life in a number of extraordinary ways: music can help to instill a sense of discipline through practice, help to conquer social anxieties through the act of performing, promote awareness of the body and self through the process of learning to play an instrument, cultivate a sense of belonging and sociality through the practice of group and ensemble work, and help to better one's emotional and mental wellbeing.

As a violinist, I specialize in teaching beginners and intermediate level students of all ages. I also offer Suzuki-style group classes for children under the age of twelve.

I received bachelor's degrees in music and anthropology from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, where I studied violin with Marka Gustavsson of the Colorado Quartet and voice with Ilka LoMonaco. I currently teach at the New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor, NY and have taught at the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties in Ellenville, NY.
