For most of us drummers and rhythmatists we cannot go an hour without banging something or tapping or humming or moving.. if this describes you or your child then Im the guy who would be delighted to foster your development in your lifelong pursuit of the ultimate beat. I cannot give you God given talent , but I can take what talent god has given you and accentuate the positive. Work with you on fundamentals, technique, timbre, timing, tuning, sight reading..the list goes on..Its a lifelong pursuit..How long you choose to pursue it is up to you.. Im here to be your mentor.

Im pretty laid back with teaching discipline. Either you got it or you dont. I cannot push you or force you into practicing.. You must inherently love music and love rhythm and love drumming or percussion. If I am working with you on Kit drumming you will be starting out with the basics unless you have experience. I normally do an assessment to determine where you are at.. If I am teaching you hand percussion or African or Asian based drums then its strictly an aural based learning experience. No books just memorization. Kit drumming will require either you have your own Drum kit if I am coming to your house or of you travel to my studio I will have 1 drum kit to share , but you must have your own sticks. I do employ books in Drum Kit lessons. I will give you the names of the books based on what I think your level is and we can go from there..

Music is a complex yet beautiful language. Once you are immersed in the culture of the beat your journey thus begins. And journeys like these last a lifetime. I hope I can be a part of your experience.

Many Blessings

One Love

About Miles
Miles McAllister is a Southern California-based performer and educator. He is a member of the nationally and internationally touring brass quintet Presidio Brass (presidiobrass.com). He is also 3rd trumpet of the Santa Barbara Symphony and a member of the Disneyland Band at the Disneyland Resort. Miles is an active freelance performer and has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony, Pacific Chorale, Long Beach Symphony, San Diego Symphony and Pops, New West Symphony, California Philharmonic, Redlands Symphony Orchestra, Riverside Philharmonic, Golden State Pops Orchestra, San Bernardino Symphony, Pacific Brass Ensemble, and many other groups throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.

He can be heard on Star Wars: Rogue One and With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story. From 2011-2013, he
played lead trumpet for Carnival Cruise Lines in numerous showbands performing in their full-scale production shows and live variety sets. He appeared as a soloist with the Redlands Symphony where he performed the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto and at the Redlands Bowl Festival performing the Haydn Trumpet Concerto. He has also performed with Persian pop singer Shahkar, Mannheim Steamroller, Chris Botti, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

He earned his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance at California State University Fullerton in 2015 and graduated from the University of Redlands in 2011 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance.

As an educator, Miles is energetic and keeps lessons positive, varied, and always with a goal in mind. There is a constant emphasis on building fundamentals and using those as a foundation for making great music. Not everyone learns the same way so it is his aim to be adaptable to the student's needs to help them understand and process the concepts behind good trumpet playing. He has taught all ages and skill levels, privately and in group settings, and can be a valuable asset in helping you achieve your musical pursuits. Three of his recent students have been placed as the principal trumpet in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and one was placed in the Claremont Intermezzo Youth Orchestra. He has also had students go on to earn generous music scholarships for college at well-respected institutions.

Because of my study in Music throughout my life and college, I can help you learn Music Theory. If you would like to know how to read the notes in music, learn rhythms, know key signatures, learn chords or further your understanding of music theory, I can help you!

About Becca
I have enjoyed the stage and the thrill of entertaining since I was a child. I have been in numerous productions, including Las Vegas Academy's €œSweeney Todd€ starring as Mrs. Lovett, which was selected as a highlighted show at the National Thespian Conference, Cats as Pouncival, €œLittle Women€ as Marmee, National Thespian€™s €œHairspray as Prudy, Super Summer Theatre€™s Annie as Pepper, and many more! I have also done work as a recording studio vocalist and corporate performer on the Las Vegas Strip. I have been studying voice with the famed Jeffrey Skouson for the past decade and continue to study teaching with him as well. I have received performance training from many different sources including Professional Broadway Performers, Famed Acting Coaches, Vocal Stylizing Coaches to the Stars, and Master Vocal Teachers. My love of perfo
rming transformed into a new love for teaching people to sing and act so that they too can experience the same joy I feel when I'm on the stage. Because of this love I studied music education at Brigham Young University ID and became a certified Vocal Instructor in the Institute for Vocal Advancement (previously a certified Speech Level Singing Instructor) in an extensive program where I must complete education and testing each year. I focus on building a singer€™s range and strength in healthy ways in all genres of music. I work with all types of performers from recording studios to the stage.
During your first lesson, I will assess your voice to determine your tendencies and weak spots. In each lesson we will begin with a series of exercises that will turn your weaknesses into strengths. We will then apply these techniques to songs of your choice. During each lesson, we can work on performance, styling and any areas you may need instruction in. If you would like to sing from the bottom to the top of your voice with strength and ease, I am the teacher for you!

-Melodies (Scales & Modes)

About Nils
Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, age 5 or 500, in my experience, with just a little bit of practice each day anyone can learn to play guitar.
Maybe your goal is to simply learn to play your favorite songs or maybe you want to learn to write your own music, improvise, or perform live.
Like all good things in life, there are no shortcuts, and learning the guitar takes time and effort, but in return you get the ability to express yourself through music, which is one of the most rewarding skills anyone could ever learn, at any age and in any situation.

My main focus is on helping you reach the point where you are actually playing music, instead of endlessly going over exercises or theory.
I want you to be able to play music you would enjoy listening to, because this is when you will start to truly appreciate your accomplish
ment, and progress will start to come much easier.

Together we will discuss your personalized course, based on your goals and situation, and along the way I will provide materials/tools and a summary or a recording of each lesson as needed, for you to take home to work on.
Different aspects we'll discuss are technique, chart/sight reading, music theory, ear training, soloing/improvisation, and developing a strong sense of rhythm, most of which will be done through simply learning to play the songs you like.
Besides the basics, it's very important to learn how to independently keep challenging yourself, learn from your mistakes and continue growing musically, simply using your ears and whatever information you can find online or anywhere else, even without my help.

Besides teaching you how to play I can also help with finding the right instrument and equipment, provide advice on guitar/amplifier maintenance and setups, as well as recording techniques, or any other practical matters related to playing music/guitar.

Lessons can be either at your residence or at my fully equipped home studio in the Hollywood Hills/Studio City area. In a beautiful and private environment, with plenty of (free/safe) street parking available.
Lessons via Skype are obviously available as well.
I look forward to hearing from you!

I had several great lessons with Nils. He helped me break through a plateau I was on in terms of modal soloing and also with recognizing chord shapes and how the lie underneath scale structures. He was responsive, knowledgeable and quick to grasp what I, as an already experienced player, needed to improve. Highly recommended!

My son absolutely loves Nils. Nils has been his guitar teacher for a few years now and has been very patient and accommodating especially since my son has Autism which can sometimes make traditional instruction a challenge. However, Nils is able to recognize his strengths and treats him just like a regular "cool dude" and I have since seen my son be more confident with his guitar playing. Nils has helped my son become a better " Rock Star" every week.

Weather you dream to create your own music one day or applying for college to make music to be your life career - you need the knowledge of music theory. I provide individually developed courses of music theory which include subjects such as solfeggio, harmony and music analisys. More than scales, chords and arpeggios, my assignments require from you the usage of a piano to be able to apply the received theory information for further progress.

About Polina
I am an experienced classical pianist with honorable degrees obtained from the most prestigious musical institutions in the world - State Academy of Music (Russian conservatory of music) located in Minsk, Belarus, as well as The College of Saint-Rose, Albany, New York, Unites States. Piano has been my main area of concentration since I was five years old, so I consider myself to be a top professional in the music field.

I really enjoy working with highly motivated students and welcome various ages and levels. I have worked both with professional musicians and beginner level music enthusiasts. As a teacher and piano soloist, I have worked in various countries including Russia, Italy, France and the United States. My international teaching experience has been showing wonderful results, and I am proud of my students winning the highest p
laces in the international auditions, competitions and festivals worldwide.

My thoroughly developed teaching method is built on the best combination of Russian and European traditions in music education, and it is intended to build and advance skills in reading, technique, theory, to enrich music appreciation by exploring compositions of variety of styles and genres, to discover the internal abilities and approach to an instrument, and master performing techniques.

Kyle has given me contra bass, aka upright bass, weekly lessons from August 2015 through May 2016. I have never played a string instrument prior to this, although I do play piano and have played the flute, bagpipes, and piccolo over the years. I did not need education in reading music.

Kyle was able to take me from sounding like a lower octave version of Jack Benny (a mid-20th century comedian famous for his howlingly horrid violin playing) to a level where I know how to hold the instrument and the bow, the fingerings, bowing technique, and how to get a very respectable sound from the instrument.

He also installed the strings when I received the new instrument, found a manufacturing flaw in the bridge height that the manufacturer subsequently paid to repair, and diagnosed a resonance issue with the instrument that was corrected with a balance weight on the string below the bridge.

Learning about how music gets from the mind of the composer to your ears and your feelings is an exciting process. Music is a science, based on rules that, when you understand them, unlock the secrets of what makes music such a magical phenomenon.

About Mohamed-Aly
Hello! I'm Mo! I love teaching violin and I try to make each lesson new and unique so that you are looking forward to the next one. There are so many aspects about playing violin that I like to talk about, show, and use examples from everyday life, such as finding rhythm in household appliances to finding pitch and harmony in birds.

I also like to prepare duets to play with my students, have some classical music listening sessions and to always bring students closer to the mentality of a performer while reminding my students what music means to everyone and why we play music.
