To speak Swedish! 😀
I teach conversational Swedish, phrases but no grammar.

About Lars
My name is Lars and I am looking forward to teaching you guitar. I've been teaching guitar for about 5 years. I fully believe that anybody can learn to play well, if they work hard, stick with it and has a passion for it. Because I did. It took a lot of work for me and did not come easy. It's never easy, nor should it be, because a person is learning something real and not just pushing buttons. But the rewards of getting better are fantastic, a sense of accomplishment and confidence is being built in a person as a result of hard work. And of course it's really fun and in my opinion the best thing in the world. The starting age doesn’t matter, old or young, a person can get so much out of music on so many levels.
In addition to music, I also teach the Swedish language, (conversation only) and Tennis. I was born and raised in Stockholm, S
weden. Grew up playing tennis, was a competitive junior player and also played briefly on the circuit. I’ve been coaching tennis in Atlanta since 1989. I worked at clubs, swim/tennis neighborhoods and independently. While having been a touring musician I found the sports side being very complementary to it and probably kept me out of more trouble at times.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Cheers

I've had two Finnish lessons with Jared so far. He's a great teacher. Very informative, and when I'm feeling overwhelmed he does a great job of answering my questions. I've learned more Finnish grammar between this first and second week of my lesson than I have in 25 years of hearing the language spoken.

As a native Swedish speaker, I can help you become proficient in Swedish while acquiring a genuine sounding accent.

About Bettina
I lived in Israel for over a decade, and graduated from the University of Jerusalem with degrees in Education and History. I regularly read Torah, chant megillot, and lead services in my synagogue.

I grew up in Sweden, speaking Swedish at home, but going to French school. At age four, I was immersed in a French environment, and had to sink or swim. I swam! In my late teens, my family moved to Israel, so I became fluent in Hebrew as well. I understand a lot about the language acquisition process.

While languages fascinate me, and come easily to me, I understand that that is not the case for everyone. I am very patient, and willing to try different methods in order to succeed. I realize that some people learn best by seeing the materials, while others need to hear them, or even sing them! Others need to move their bodies and engage in
kinesthetic learning. I facilitate all these methods.
I have taught all ages, from preschoolers to the elderly. I have taught in schools, preschools, informal educational settings (like summer camps) as well as one-on-one privately.

I’m very flexible with timing, and available as often as you’d like, Sunday to Friday.

Bettina helped me to succeed at speaking French with my non-English speaking friends in Paris, on a recent trip to Paris. She helped me realize that I could speak the language again. Bettinas’ style, knowledge, and patience are some of her keys to my success in Paris. I appreciate her effort. I will continue in a manner such that I will not lose this progress. Merci beacoup!

After two years of learning Swedish via Duolingo, I finally decided to take my interest to the next level, and I’m so happy I did. Working with Monica is both fun and challenging. Your weaknesses really become apparent when you try speaking your new language in real time but Monica is really helpful and sweet when you make mistakes. Her assignments are challenging enough to keep you progressing but not so hard that you get frustrated. I look forward to every lesson. Tusen tack, Monica.

We really liked Monica! She was always prompt with her lessons. She recommended text and work book and where to obtain them and they have been very useful. My daughter has learned a lot from working with her. Monica was flexible with us during the busy summer months when we were out of school and had camps and travel, etc. We highly recommend her.

About Angelika L.

Excelsior, MN
View Full Profile

I am a native Swedish speaker, born and raised in Sweden, but currently living in Minneapolis, USA. I have many years of teaching experience, mainly from teaching business related subjects at university, but also from teaching younger age groups. I teach Swedish to all age groups. I am a good fit for you if you are looking for a Swedish teacher who can teach:
* Conversational Swedish
*Reading, writing, grammar and idioms
*Business Swedish
*Every-day Swedish
*Technical Swedish
*Swedish language in a cultural context
*Swedish Literature
*Swedish for seniors and kids and anyone in between

I am a language learner myself and I speak four languages. I know what it takes to learn a language effectively, and I will take you through a step-by-step learning process, where the language is put into context, to enhance understanding and retention.

About Angelika
I am an experienced university teacher, Assistant Professor, researcher and PhD in Business Studies, from Sweden but currently living and teaching in the USA. I am a great fit for any student wanting to learn more about:
*Marketing
*International Marketing
*Marketing Communications
*Organizational Theory
*Management
*Human Resource Management
*Swedish language (beginner-advanced, any age group)
*Swedish culture

For my business students: I use visual aids and plenty of real-life examples in the form of case studies, videos and pictures, to increase and deepen your understanding of the theoretical concepts that you are learning. I have years of experience explaining complex theoretical concepts in business studies, so that anyone can understand. By focusing on deep learning related to real-life scenarios, you will retain the k
nowledge better, and thus perform better in your studies. It is not mainly about memorizing, it is about really understanding what business is about that will make you successful in your studies and your work life ahead.

For my Swedish language students: I teach based on real-life scenarios and settings, such as going to the grocery store, meeting a new friend, or introducing yourself to a business partner. The feeling resembles learning lines for a theater play and it is a highly effective method which I learned from studying Japanese at Middlebury College Language Schools. The reason this method is so effective is that the vocabulary is used in a context, the way words normally are used, and these memorized conversations can thereafter be used in a multitude of situations, simply by changing only a few words. You will be able to understand and participate in real conversations from start!

I teach Swedish "around your interests". This means that I will take the time to get to know what interests you, what you would like to be able to say and do in Swedish/Sweden, and then I adapt the lessons to that. For those that are interested in literature, I love to introduce some Swedish literature. For students of Business Swedish, I do not think that you can find a more knowledgeable teacher in business Swedish! For the beginner student wanting to learn some basic language to make friends and travel in Sweden and Swedish speaking parts of Finland, we will focus on everyday conversations on current topics in Sweden and Finland. For kids of all ages, we might take a stance in Swedish Donald Duck cartoons (which are highly popular in Sweden- you can find them in every grocery store!) or talk about Minecraft, school related topics etc. .

As a person, I am down to earth and easy to talk to. There are no "stupid questions" in my book. As your teacher, I am on your team, and I will do my very best for you to succeed in your studies!
