Drawing Lessons in Wappingers Falls. Amazing Teachers.

I am a classically trained artist and I teach traditional methods of representational drawing. I’ve taught at several local ateliers as well as internationally through the State Department’s Art In The Embassies program. I can help you learn about perspective, line, volume, and composition in an a way that is easy to understand. My teaching style is rich with experience and information but also very low key and unintimidating. Also— I’m really fun! Come draw with me!

• Help with high school and middle school curriculum in math, quantitative sciences, social sciences, writing. Help with IB & AP classes and corresponding exams.
• National Merit Scholar & several (10+) AP Tests in High School.

I draw based on what I see pertaining to where light hits an object, the shape of objects, and the distance between spaces. Drawing what you see in front of you can be as easy as following simple techniques and choosing the right colors.

Drawing is the process of learning to see & allowing your hand to move with your mind as you process what you see. It is line, space, shape, shadow, texture, mass, value, light, and the inspiration of the artist. It ranges from sketching to detailed drawing--depending on your temperament and interest.
Additionally, you can schedule a lesson and let me know that you want to use it as a critique to review some of your work. I recommend the 45 minute session for a critique.

Honestly, I can teach drawing at any level. My objective is for the student to improve and work towards their desired achievements -- whether it's just to get better at drawing, work towards making a masterpiece, or putting together a portfolio to get into their desired art school.

In drawing, I've worked primarily in Pencil, Pen, & Digital.

I've been drawing since I was 7, and have worked for 1000's of clients as a freelance artist.

Many people think they can't draw. I used to be one of them. Now, I know that everyone can draw, they just need to learn how to translate what they see into an image. We will start with contour, move into gesture, create the illusion of 3D form using value and color, composition and even create the illusion of space. We will use a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, pastels (oil and chalk) and even use paint. It's really lots of fun!
