I'm a classically trained pianist. I have been teaching this subject for 10 years. I have a traditional and non-traditional style when I teach. I focus on technique. I also record the student's piano performances. But most of all, I make learning music FUN!
I'm a professional musician and audio engineer. I'm a classically trained pianist and I offer lessons in piano, guitar, voice, music theory, music recording, music performance and songwriting.
I received my music education from The Brooklyn Music School, Cornell University and the The Institute of Audio Research.
I perform in original & cover bands as a keyboardist and back up singer. I also do work for hire session recordings and have composed music for commercials and short films.
As an audio engineer, I record, mix, edit, arrange, master and program demos, EPs albums, mix-tapes, karaoke tracks and ringtones. I also produce as well. I co-own a project recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Radian Studios.
I'm very passionate about what I do and I guarantee a creative, enjoyable and fulfilling experience!
sson Details *** For piano and voice, I incorporate basic music theory methods but I also focus on ear training as well. My ultimate goal when teaching is for the student to have a visceral experience while playing or singing.
For audio engineering, I go over audio recording techniques and the tools & equipment needed to produce a professional sounding song.
I enjoy imparting my knowledge of music to others and I demonstrate that enthusiasm in my teaching style. I love relating what I'm teaching a student to his/her learning style. Figuring out how someone learns is a key component to my method and I'm a better instructor because of it.

Ramona is great. She is so calm and patient with me. She teaches in a way that makes it's fun and enjoyable rather than technical in the beginning. She gives you homework so you can practice at home. The homework is not burdensome because you will leave the lesson excited to go home and practice what you learned.

Originally from Rome, Italy, Elisabetta immersed herself in musical and classical studies since an early age. Traveling with her family, she had the opportunity to experience the most prestigious music productions in Europe and the United States. The choice to be an active part of the music world as a professional was inevitable and only natural. She attained a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Music Teaching, from the Conservatory of Music Refice, Italy. She developed a long career teaching music, providing music education instruction, encompassing practice of an instrument, history of music, and music theory. She taught classes with approximately twenty-five students, maintaining a sharp, consistent focus on correlating music to academics. Through instrument instruction (piano, recorder, and key board) she was successful i
n developing skills in students such as discipline and concentration. The experience of practicing and producing beautiful music enhanced the self esteem of even the most difficult pupils, improving their achievements also in mathematics, science, language arts and other academic subjects. While teaching, Elisabetta never stopped performing for various Cultural Associations in Solo Concerts and Chamber Music. In New York for family and business reasons since 1999, Elisabetta continued her successful teaching career throughout these years, giving lessons to children and adults alike. Some of her students came from the Martha Graham School of Modern Dance, The Neighborhood Playhouse and Opera Singers.

My daughter adores Elisabetta, and with good reason. Elisabetta is an expert in the fine art of balancing warmth and gentleness with rigorous instruction and an insistence on the importance of technique.
My daughter has been playing piano for several years, and she wants to be treated as a mature tween, not a small child who must be praised for simply getting through a piece. On the other hand, she can also be hypersensitive and react badly to criticism; she will think someone is angry with her on the slightest provocation. In other words, she is a very tough customer! But somehow, miraculously, Elisabetta gets it perfectly right, and my daughter feels respected and encouraged.
I am extremely grateful to have found such a gracious and skilled instructor, and I'm very pleased with the progress my daughter is making.
By using well-thought scaffolding methods, based on research and experience, my students are given the opportunity to advance further in less time their piano study inclusive of performance and technical skills. As a music teacher for over 10 years, each students' zone of proximal development is facilitated based on their individual interests and strengths in a nurturing and safe environment.
I believe that progressive teaching must employ constructive pedagogical strategies to foster meaningful musical experiences for students to build and to exhibit competence. My pedagogical model is comprised of a student-centered approach to produce attainable challenges and to affect affirmative changes that will physically, technically, and emotionally enrich each student's performance.
During instruction, I exercise scaffolding methods to facilitate the students' zone of proximal development and innovative questioning to augment students' cognitive thinking and critical thinking skills. The process of musical learning is purposeful when it is facilitated within a nurturing environment to motivate the students' intrinsic interests and that is my goal!
Currently, I prepare my students for singing auditions o
n Broadway and off-Broadway productions, CCM Singing Competitions, Commercials, Musical Theatre Productions, The Voice, X-Factor, American Idol, Specialized Performance Schools, College Music Performances, and Choirs. A number of my piano students prepare for the NYSSMA and ABRSM examinations. As a clinical trained Vocologist, I also work with students to correct vocal fold injuries and to prevent further trauma, as well to improve phonatory production during singing.
Education / Training
As a music professional, I specialize in Voice (Contemporary Commercial Music), Vocology, and in Piano (Classical). I am certified by the New York Singer Teachers Association and the Somatic Voicework The LoVetri Method. In addition, I am a City/State Teacher Certified in Music (K-12) and a member of NYSTA, NATS, and MEANYC.
I am a graduate of Columbia University in Music & Music Education, M.A., Ed.M. I have a comprehensive background and training in Piano, Voice, Vocal Pedagogy, Vocology, and General Music. I studied music at Hunter College and I obtained a Bachelor Degree in Italian from Queens College. As an instrumentalist, I attended Fiorello LaGuardia of Music & Art & Performing Arts H.S. and the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music at Queens College.
My professional development is comprised of studies in Vocology at Keidar Voice Instititute, in Voice Management Techniques at Westminster Choir College, and in Dalcroze at Lucy Moses School.
Over the years, I studied with acclaimed vocal professionals such as Dr. Anat Keidar, Dr. Jeanne Goffi-Fynn, and David Sabella-Mills among others.

Fay is an amazing teacher that gives her student's the ability to progress and I can't even begin to describe how much I've improved because of her help.

An amazing teacher that helps you progress as a performer. Piano has been such a fun instrument to play and amazing considering the techniques taught by her! Her lessons are so fun as well as educational.

Fay is such an amazing teacher! I got into Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School thanks to her. Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! If you get the chance, at least take a class, you will not regret it!
Study piano with a professionally trained piano teacher, music producer and composer. I have studied in music performance and education from The Dalcroze School of Music, Laguardia High School of the Performing Arts and Harlem School of the Arts.
I have been professionally trained in classical piano but I also teach a wide variety of styles, including neo-soul and rhythm and blues.
Lessons are tailored to the individual student's own musical interests. This means I select repertoire based on what each student enjoys to listen to or is excited about learning.
Different repertoire is then used to explore various fundamentals of music performance, including:
-ear training -reading -improvisation -music theory -harmony -rhythm

Students will be taught the basics of learning the piano, from their first piece to a level 3 NYSSMA solo. Students will learn how to read music, learn the layout of the keyboard, and spend time developing independence with both hands. Want to learn your favorite pop tune, movie tune, or video game theme? This is the right place to start.
I have over 10 years of experience on the Clarinet and other reed instruments. I am a senior undergraduate BA Music Education major at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and have studied classical clarinet as well as saxophone under various professors at the college.
I also have experience in teaching NYSSMA solos, intermediate/advanced techniques on the saxophone and clarinet, and have run and directed my own orchestra and jazz band during my time in college.
I have a reputation for achieving whatever goals I set my sights on musically, from performing to composing and conducting.
I am also in touch with the current music education situation in New York City, spending many hours every semester doing fieldwork observations in various music programs across the city as well as being an assistant to various honors
festivals for middle school and high school students, as well as performing in them while still in the public school system.
I personally believe practicing should be fun, and have devised multiple strategies for success to kick-start one's drive for peak performance in music!
Jorge was a great teacher, he started me off learning clarinet. Very kind, postitve and knew all of his stuff. Would definitely recommend as a teacher.
May 12, 2018
Jorge tutored me for a few weeks in music theory and it greatly benefited me. He shows through his examples and explanations that he really understands concepts of music theory and keyboard, as well on his clarinet too. I highly recommend hiring Jorge since he goes over the information at a good pace and nice manor. He will go over whatever you need help on.
In my teaching philosophy, I always teach students to understand the music better throughout the historical concepts. To let them enhance their understanding of the connection between music and life. I also stress that to be a good musician or artist, you have to learn how to be a good human being first. Because, people’s personality or character could reflect in their music as always. 1. To train the basic fundamental techniques 2. To learn the different style of the music throughout Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern music. 3. To train the performance mode 4. To learn how to "practice"

My 4.5 year old daughter had her first piano lesson with Jingci. I had learned how to play piano when I was a kid, so I could tell Jingci knows how to teach the basic foundation very well. She's firm yet patient and got my daughter to follow her instructions even though her attention span isn't that great at her age.

Ms. Liu is so kind and patient. Great to know her and study with her.

"So far, we are extremely happy with Mr. Jee. He is very good with young students."
"Adaptable, fast, flexible, and positive teacher everyone would want in their home. Breaks down lessons into simple, easy to understand structures for chi
ldren. Makes it easy for anyone to pick it up and start learning from nothing. My fingers are more dexterous than ever after some of her lessons. Easy to get along with and friendly. Her teaching style is not rigid and boring like other piano teachers. She won't have you playing Mozart, she'll have you playing what You want to learn, that gets you excited and wanting to learn more and more. Just make sure to have your keyboard ready!"

music that I love so much. She's the best!"
"Highly recommend Bonnie. We have had over 50 lessons with Bonnie over the last 2.25 year period. My girls started with her when they were just 4 years o
ld. Her program works. She created a fantastic and fun program with color coded animals that is great for all ages. I have friends who have never had a music lesson in their life and they can pick up her books and start playing right away. Her piano books also make great gifts for small children.
Taking lessons at her house She has a lovely waiting room with comfortable chairs and toys. If you're Florida acclimated, bring a sweater!
Taking lessons online: Though they are incredibly convenient, online lessons do not work well with my girls."
When you own a piano, moving takes a bit more planning. Should you hire a professional, or do it yourself? Here, Helendale, CA teacher Sylvia S. shares what to keep in mind to make sure your instrument stays safe and sound...
