I am a graduate of Brown University with honors in Italian Studies and Performance Studies. I am a fluent speaker, having lived in Florence, Rome, and Sicily. I work with students to improve their understanding of grammar, their pronunciation, reading comprehension, vocabulary, conversation skills, and writing. I also have an extensive knowledge of Italian culture, history, and literature from my studies and research and am happy to share this with interested students. At Brown, I tutored students in the Italian Department through the dean of the college's tutoring center, and I have worked as a tutor with students of all levels in Providence and New York.

Having attended American school on the weekdays and a total-immersion Japanese school on the weekends (and coming home to parents who only spoke Japanese), I was lucky enough to grow up completely bi-lingual. With over a decade of experience teaching in private and classroom settings, I make my lessons fun, high-energy, and tailor-made to each individual. Please feel free to send me a message, and let's learn some Japanese! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

Amazing! Talented vocalist and pianist that communicates very well. Has great advice and wonderful personality. Great with kids.

I met Laura at Harvard University when we were both doing our MFA degrees in acting. Since our program was not a Musical Theater one and I was not a singer, I started to take private lessons with her to compliment some of the training in singing we were getting there.

Laura is a fantastic singer and actor. She has an incredible ear as well as great knowledge and experience of what makes a singing performance pop. All this makes her an outstanding coach.

Even now after graduation, I am still training with her. Our focus now is on continuing the development of my singing voice. My goal is to reach a level where I have the skill and confidence to audition professionally for musicals, and I know I am in great hands.

I just started nursing school at UCLA and had failed my first midterm. Dr. Z was really supportive and taught me how to study. He really knew how to teach the material. "My girls (8 and 11 years old) really enjoyed their lessons with Simona. She was able to structure the lessons to meet their individual needs and interests. One of my favorite moments was coming home from work to see yellow post it notes on many household appliances and furniture as she had the girls go label these items in Italian as a fun little "quiz". Simona was the perfect solution to introducing my girls to the language of their relatives. We'll be back once our schedule allows."

We add -ed for the past: "I look"  becomes "I looked." We add -s to in the singular third person: "I run," becomes "he runs." But often times, English verbs are a li …
