The first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I love classical guitar, and I am passionate about not only helping students grow as musicians, but to grow in their passion for music as well.
I teach classical guitar and host an instructional YouTube channel. I received professional training at the University of Washington in Seattle, and I have taken lessons with the composer/guitarist Kevin Callahan.
I have taught students from age 4 to 80, and I know how to make learning enjoyable for the young and less young. I have learned how to be an encouraging and constructive instructor as I train students in how to play and practice.
Performance and instructional videos are available on my YouTube channel, which can be found by searching for my name.
Thank you!
